I really wanted to like this. I'm a mystery story fiend, and the description and beginning of this felt new and fresh. However, I absolutely hate experimental jazz, such as what is playing through the first level. Grates on my nerves. So I turned it off, and then down, but the sluggish gameplay of moving the tiles became even more noticeable in future levels. Not the one for me.

Really loving this game. Some of the levels can be repetitive, but if you pay attention and change which layout you're doing, you can still get the things you need to complete quests. I love getting sidetracked and working on other areas, too. Well done mah-jongg game!

Definitely a kids' game. I liked the theme that they presented -- a new colony, building from the ground up, etc. -- but the order in which the buildings are built is nonsensical (but as I'm also a reenactor, I think about things like that). The music (more on some levels than others) is annoying and has nothing to do with the game theme. The constant "wow!" and "awesome combo!" in a child-like voice is also extremely annoying, repetitive, and nowhere near in keeping with the game. Fortunately, music and voice can be turned off. I found the actual bubble-popping mechanics enjoyable, though, so might pick this up during an appropriate sale or with a game credit.
Epistory immerses you in an atmospheric action/adventure game where you play a girl riding a giant fox who fights an insectile corruption from an origami world.

I love this game! It's so unusual, and it's nice to not be tied just to the mouse as with so many other games. However, it's also nice to have those options. In this game, you can just use the keyboard, but it also allows you to use the arrow keys (which I do) and mouse and save the typing for the words. The storyline is addictive and immersive as well. I just finished the demo and didn't even realize an hour had gone by. Looking forward to more exploration.

I liked the story, with clues being unwrapped with each level, and some of the new tools were interesting. However, the total reliance on tools to complete some levels was becoming wearing. If I wanted to be Batman, I'd play a Batman game. Lovely graphics and smooth mechanics otherwise. I would recommend for people who love to use all the gadgets.

The game mechanics were fun enough, and the general soundtrack was pretty good, but the voiceovers and sound effects were... well... dorky. As if they were trying too hard without trying at all. The graphics weren't anything write home about either. I prefer Caribbean Hideaway or the Fishdom games for a similar match 3 experience.

I finished this fairly quickly, but enjoyed the variety of mahjongg types and additional puzzles thrown in. The music was relaxing, but the timing on the mahjongg puzzles was still challenging to keep me from zoning too much. Nicely done.
Typically, when a Match 3 game is rather slow, I give it a pass and move on. However, I just had to mention that I absolutely love the soundtrack to this! It's appropriate, stays in the background, and you're not left humming some dumb tune halfway through the day because it's stuck in your head. Very relaxing game, and the music helps. The graphics are also fairly good quality, easy to tell the difference between pieces, and I like the concept of building a village in between. It gives you more to think about.

Apart from being elated that it's not another HOG, this is a cute little TMG where the characters have little antics and a variety of quips as you send them about their tasks. As you go along, the levels get a little harder, but you also unlock items and actions to use to update the characters.
The gameplay is just like most of the others out there. The movement is a little on the slow side, but I find I don't mind because of the animation and voices.

The first game with Joe and Tom was SO much more fun and made more sense for repairing a barn! I'm very disappointed. If I wanted to play a cute HOG, I'd play the Gardenscapes games. I was hoping for more Match 3 like the original in this series. I went through the first few levels, and there was no real interaction between Joe and anything else. "Earthquake? Huh, so what." Try again, Big Fish... Encourage more variety from your suppliers!
