This is an overall lovely game where you have hundreds of puzzles to choose from that highlight the beauty and culture of Australia including landmarks, wildlife, flora, and my favourite, pics of sea life along the great barrier reef.
The best thing about this series of puzzles is that you can modify each one to your liking. You can decide on the number of pieces you have, whether the pieces are rotational or not and my preference in choosing a ghost picture to show up behind your layout or not. Also it's important to note that when you place a puzzle piece correctly it locks into place. The music is very relaxing too.
There are a few pics of overly staged cheeky actors but not too many. But the real annoyance I have with this latest addition is the scrapbook page of kangaroos that is poised behind each layout and this is why I have deducted a star because I found it distracting.
I recommend this game!

This is an outstanding, polished, well written, and overall lovely game.
As an unashamed casual player I love games with a lot of bells and whistles and this developer delivers. There's a lot of character interaction which I believe is the most engaging way to pull a player into a game. Once that's achieved it's easy to get immersed into the story and it's a good one about monsters and abducted children. You are there to get to the bottom of it.
I love story books with the placement of items that had gone astray. The first one was rather clever as your character reads a story to an eager young child. The HO scenes are brilliant with a great deal of interaction and the puzzles are fun though I admit I've skipped a few.
The story is set in Germany with stunning graphics and colours and wonderfully the accents are believable. There's a softness to the landscapes which adds a lot of charm.
The only gripe I have is about the strategy guide. It's a bit of a mess when locating the puzzle pieces and collectible figurines... everything was seemingly out of order. There's always that one piece I have trouble finding and it's the first thing I like to do at the beginning of each scene.
This game is an absolute joy to play! Cheers!
I recommend this game!

Frustrating! Mixed thoughts on this game.
The atmosphere was spot on with this spooky goth vibe to it and the voiceover was suitably ominous but there was no need for a warning for mature audiences only.
There are no customizable settings and the hint button is useless. I found the journal to be more helpful... no just kidding. Sometimes the journal would help you with a clue and sometimes it wouldn't so it was not reliable. You finally get a map but you can't take it with you. You have to be in that room to look at it... so what's the point?
The puzzles are obnoxiously repetitive for instance you find a gem, find the symbol, and then spell a word. You'll do this several times. There aren't any HO scenes so that was a put off for me as I love them and for puzzle lovers I don't think you'll find many of them challenging, most are tedious. It's a definite pass for me.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a lovely and rather unique game. It offers a mix of solitaire and mahjong gameplay with the option of playing only solitaire or mahjong, or by playing the default of a mix. As you play you receive clues to solve a mystery case where Grandma Gertrude and her grandson need your help. After all of the clues are found you mark a grid to figure out who is the criminal. There are charming extras like finding a yummy donut to unlock the police cards and chance cards to add tokens or take away one of your power-ups. I found the gameplay to be flawless and the music to be a perfect fit for this light hearted mystery game. This is a nice game to relax to.
I recommend this game!

I absolutely loved playing this game. This developer is the best when setting an atmosphere within each of their games. The suspenseful music and sound effects, and voiceovers truly set the scene for a spooky good time thriller. The bolts of lightning and the thunderous crackle in the stormy night I especially enjoyed. This Phantasmat is unique to the previous games in the series so that has caught some players off guard, but give it a chance as I think that this game has great merit. The storyline is well crafted, settings can be customized, the HO scenes were a lot of fun, and there are plenty of mini-games. Highly recommend...

This is an unique, well-crafted, and lovely game packed with a lot of charm. The Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration where the living honor and remember their loved ones that have passed on. As you play each level, where there are three layouts, you acquire these ancestors which you can customize onto your deck of cards. There is a profile given for each character delivered by the hostess of the game who is light-hearted and humorous. As you earn coins you can decorate the cemetery. There are various power-ups including a Tesla electricity machine, rockets, an undo card, and dynamite to help you clear each level. The game is glitch free and I'm finding it enjoyable to play.
I recommend this game!

This is the 3rd one in the series(I think) and it is by far the best one yet. Once you arrive at an old abandoned movie theatre to investigate a disappearance you are quickly sucked into old horror movie classics to find clues to solve the mysteries. I really found this story fascinating and well thought out. It was delightfully difficult to tear myself away from it. The cutscenes of the ghosts are excellent and settings can be customized. If you're able try the collector's edition as it is worth the extra cost with a fun bonus chapter. There's a morph and a collectible to find in each scene, a strategy guide, and the length is satisfyingly long. One of the best games this year thus far for sure.
I recommend this game!

This is a lovely solitaire game. There are three modes of play including casual, easy, and timed. You collect coins for bonuses to help complete each level and mana to build locations. The graphics, music, and colours are charming and the storyline has captured my interest. Alawar is one of my favourite developers and I find most of their TM and solitaire games to be instant buys with no regrets. The solitaire games released recently have been boring and drab, this is a needed and refreshing offering. I highly recommend.

I usually love Artifex Mundi games but this one was just a bit off for me. The first thing that I noticed and couldn't understand was the music. In the opening scene you have to repair the zeppelin before it crashes and blows up taking you and your companions with it. So you would expect mission impossible type of music right, to bring a sense of urgency to the scene? But the music was light hearted without a hint that impending doom awaited you and the crew. This is the type of soundtrack that I need to put me to sleep at night. The atmosphere was all wrong and this sadly is the first AM game I have deleted from my computer.
I don't recommend this game.

Laruaville is back with an 8th edition. This is from the same developer that makes the popular series Cursed House and Spellarium. From the start the gameplay is advanced with a few mouse tips and a guidebook icon located at the top of each level. If you are a new player to this series it might be very frustrating at first. But once you get the hang of it, it is fun with the right amount of challenge to have an enjoyable experience. There are a few new elements with this edition where you can choose the direction of the rockets which clears the line of obstacles. Also there are "dammed" coins where if you collect them you have to start the level over again. Optional bonus levels are included and there are no time restrictions.
I recommend this game!
