I just finished this game and I loved it! It was relatively easy and straight forward which is always a plus for me. Some of the puzzles were a lot more challenging then others, but there's always the skip button. The skip and hint buttons recharge very quickly that is also a bonus.
Right from the start you will see that the game tries to recreate the world, mind and ideas of Leonardo da Vinci. You will see some amazing inventions, such as the mechanical dog or bird for example. The latter will actually become our helper and it will even provide us with some interesting ways to solve the puzzles. You will also see some of his famous works of art! Graphics were a strong point in this game. Everything looks really well done and a lot of dedication has been put into the creation of this amazing, intricate, long ago world. Animations are good, and the character design is realistic enough. Overall, Grim Facade: The Artist and The Pretender successfully manages to deliver a very interesting game world, a lot of fun locations to explore and amazing puzzles and HOGS to play. I loved the historical aspect of this game. Anything to do with history is always a winner with me! I really, really enjoyed playing this game!
I purchased this as soon as the demo was over because it looked like it was going to be a fantastic game! I did what I never do and I purchased the CE. So sorry I wasted the money. As soon as demo is over the game goes down hill. It becomes disjointed, boring, confusing, frustrating and annoying. I usually buy a game and I finish with in a day or two, I played this game for over a month and finally tonight I just quit and deleted the game without finishing the main game or the bonus game that I payed extra for. I just couldn't face another minute of playing this game! I'm not going to give it a 1 because the graphics were beautiful, the game was long and I believe the game developers really tried to make this a complicated and unique game for the expert players. I give them an B+ for effort (HOG Scenes could have been more interactive). I just really really really didn't like this game and found it very frustrating!
I Loved this game. I played the whole game some time ago. The game itself was spooky but not ugly and decrepit, nor covered with bugs. It deals with my favorites vampires, werewolfs and ghosts! Haunted Hotel: Eclipse is a great example of what Elephant games does perfectly, programming mastery. Playing at the Casual level, the player can get very specific hints from the Hint button, such as "Give the hazelnuts to the animal in the backyard tree," to complete a task. That saves the player from searching the Strategy Guide or paging through a Walk through and most importantly it keeps me from having to keep clicking my mouse all over the place which causes great pain to my neck and shoulder Yay! The story is compelling. You are a detective. You and your Sherlock Holmes type partner James are asked to solve the mystery of a hotel which has served alternately as the headquarters of one of two mysterious societies. The groups battle every 13 years on Halloween during an eclipse, and this is the year! The story is great, and all the puzzles are fun. Naturally, this includes a good Journal and a Skip button. I would recommend this highly at full price but with today's 2.99 special it's more then worthy it's a steal!

Mystery Trackers hits a new low with Winterpoint Tragedy. Despite the spectacular graphics (if you like snowy scenes), the confusing and boring game play, the mundane story, music that gave me an anxiety attack and the short length basically ruin this game. I usually start a game and play it for a day or two until I finish it. I purchased this game 9/6/15 and as of today I still had not finished it. I did give it one last try then I finally deleted it without finishing it because life is to short to live through one more minute of this horrible horrible nightmare of a game! I couldn't care less how the stupid story ends, I just wanted to end my misery! Mystery Trackers are hit or miss for me While I Loved Blackrows secret, Silent Hollow and Raincliff. I really kind of dislike the others in the series. I would not recommend this game!
I own and love all the Dana Knightstone games but this one is my most favorite. This one was just a little more fun to play and the scenery was just gorgeous including Professor eye candy! Despite the spooky subject matter, Death Under Tuscan Skies: A Dana Knightstone Novel is not a jump-scare type of thriller. Rather, it is a gentle, somewhat romantic mystery that takes place in the ridiculously beautiful Tuscan locations. Nothing ugly, messy, broken down, covered with bugs, or cob webs just straight up real life beautiful scenery! Haunting, lyrical tunes accompany the player through unbelievably gorgeous scenery, from the dark and somewhat spooky university library to a sun-drenched Tuscan village and a remote and mysterious monastery. The professor you meet and interact with through out the game is nice piece of eye candy, he made the game that much more enjoyable for me! Each chapter is one location which cuts down on a lot of wandering back and forth,( which I hate!) while presenting yet another picture-postcard locale to be enjoyed. The puzzles are a nice mix. The hidden object scenes are sharp and clear, and are also a nice mix of the standard list-type as well as "find 20 of a particular item" and others where you must find objects based on pictures or silhouettes. Fun and beautiful game that I only wish was a little bit longer. Give it a try, I think you'll like it!
On the surface, Portal of Evil: Missing Runes is a standard hidden-object game. You are supposed to collect some items strewn around the rooms and landscapes, find others in hidden-object scenes and solve various puzzles. However, after a while it starts feeling more like a full-fledged adventure. Action cut-scenes abound, giving a welcome shot of dynamic energy, and they are skillfully made and a pleasure to watch. Travelling to different dimensions means a wealth of diverse scenes and a meandering storyline that takes you through unknown lands and ancient history. The environments are gorgeous, from imposing, grandiose architecture to the forbidding realms of Purgatory! I Loved every minute of playing this game. The game is very long yet I never got bored or wished the game would just end, like I so often do. Kept me engaged! If you're looking for a game that isn't a gruesome horror story, but is also quite far from being light and fluffy, try Portal of Evil: Stolen Runes. It will intrigue you, excite you, entertain you and, best of all, you'll get to save the entire world from demons without ever getting up from your chair.
I loved this game! I didn't play this game until early 2015 and it is still better then all the newer high tech games coming out today. The Lonely Hearts Murders is one of those rare hidden-object adventures that feels like it dedicates itself to its plot more than anything else. It's all very Sherlock Holmes meets film noir, with a big emphasis on atmosphere and character interaction, which means you see and speak to a lot more characters, making your investigation feel like... well... an investigation. The character models tend to look best from a distance, but the design as a whole is remarkably well done, from the artwork to the soundtrack. Heck, even the hidden-object scenes are typically easy on the eyes and fun to mess around with. I loved the British accents, but my favorite part was having someone in the game with me, talking to me and helping me with the investigation. Ok, I actually do all the work but it was fun having him with me just the same! . If you're looking for a hidden-object adventure with gorgeous art, creepy intrigue, tons of fully animated and voiced characters and scenes, and the ability to rearrange a woman's shoe closet, do yourself a favor and check out the demo for Brink of Consciousness: The Lonely Hearts Murders you won't regret it!! Highly recommend this game.
Confront your fears, that’s the message in Alice's Journey. A mix of hidden object and point and click adventure. Alice, has to confront her fears in the real world by solving issues in an alternate universe. It starts off well, with the background to Alice’s predicament. She hates her job and wants to make a change but is scared to do anything about it. In a ‘Life on Mars’ style twist, she has an accident on the way to meet a client and finds herself in a shadowy dimension where her fears are realized and she must solve them by completing puzzles. The hand drawn backgrounds are impressive and there's plenty of detail to take in as you tour the strange land and try to find your way back to the real world. This and the interesting story will keep fans of the genre happy, though I found the ending was far too abrupt and it felt as if it had been cut short for some reason. That is the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5. I highly recommend the game!
I demo-ed this game but only played about 5 minutes when I deleted it because it seemed boring but after constantly seeing this game as peoples favorite I used a free game token to purchase it and boy am I glad I did! The game gets so much better after the demo. I really loved the game and the story line was terrific! The amount of creativity Nevertales featured is almost unbelievable and it is proudly shown in almost every aspects of the game. The Hidden Object scenes come in many different types and you never to have to visit a scene more than once! You will never get bored of finding objects again and again as the scenes are very interactive. Puzzles are extremely well-crafted and are super smart, many of them are very innovative and sometimes offer a nice twist on a well-known formula. What I love the most though, are those puzzles within puzzles - they are so, so entertaining. Moreover, those objects in your inventory at times also require some further interactions and objects combining! Nevertales: The Beauty Within might not be the most challenging game, but it is so innovative and everything is so well thought-out that it is so much fun to play. I love that there are 4 modes of play one of which lets me speed up the hints and/or skips! Apart from those features, you also have a mechanical owl as your companion and he was a hoot!
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
I would give this game 10 stars if I could. One of the funniest games I've ever played. What I loved about Witch's Pranks: Frog's Fortune is the game's quirkiness, wackiness and its vivid creativity. All locations are so much fun to explore with awesome details and some locations even include the scrolling function which I enjoyed. The hidden object scenes are pretty cool as they usually come in fragmented-objects type, but with a few tricks upon their sleeves. The mini-games and puzzles are impressively innovative; not all of them are unique, but the developers added some fresh twists even to those that are typical. Witch's Pranks: Frog's Fortune involves a handful of potion-mixing, spell-casting and any other fairy-tales tasks imaginable. The difficulty of the game play is very balanced, not too straightforward but not too complicated, more on the easier side which made for a really relaxing and fun afternoon!
