There were some challenges, I did not find all the hearts/morphs on the first go round, which was a nice challenge. I always turn off the music (always hideous) and don't care at all about any story lines in any games. I just want to play the game. The one thing that ruined this game for me and earned only 4 stars were the HORRID goofy cartoon faces on the realistic photo bodies. Why would they do this? It's hard to get past that but I try not to look.

I did not like that the scenes were repeated with the first find, then 2nd shadow finds, then the third one all with the same items and background.I do not want to look at the same backgrounds over and over. I don't care even a tiny bit about the stories connected to the games, my only concern is can I skip all the dialog at once, or do I have to click on each page to move forward. Finding the items gave a reasonable challenge, although not very difficult, but like another reviewer said, the items are just tossed onto the page without any thought to disguise or background. This review is based on the one hour free play. I will not be purchasing this game.
I don't recommend this game.

There is far to much talking in this game. I don't care for any talk usually, I just want to play! The "story lines" mean absolutely nothing to most game players, I don't know why creators think this is 'fun'. This game might be interesting, but there are so many interruptions for chatter, and most of it you cannot skip, it's too hard to play. I assume that other versions by this same creator are full of talking too, so I will skip those as well. A pain in the butt, so I will not be purchasing this game!
I don't recommend this game.

I have enjoyed all the Island Tribe versions, But I had skipped over 1 & 2 to play the later versions. I am now in the middle of playing #2, and I've found it to be more challenging than many of the later versions!. As someone who has who has completed all higher versions (several times) with top scores, I am experienced at this game, but already have two levels I have tried twice to capture the gold, and so far have not succeeded! Here are my thoughts on the challenges: There seems to be less time to complete the tasks, and it's easy to run out of time. You do not get any advanced notification on finding "specialty" items, they randomly pop up and it's up to you to spot them and click on them. Sometimes they are not there a very long time, so you can miss them if you aren't watching. The larger jewels come and go as well, do assume they will be there when you find time to grab them. I don't like music in my games, so that is turned off, and I keep the sound low as well so I can't really comment either way on those. Also in general I hate the "stories" in any game (they are notoriously long in the HOG games in particular) and so skip past those as soon as I can. I do enjoy catching the cute tiny little animations in this series, and think they are well produced. A nice challenging version!
I recommend this game!

At first it seemed like it would be a great HOV game, but it was confusing at the beginning because I kept getting locked in a screen view with no way to exit. Even exiting the game did not take me back to the main menu! Finding out how to move to the next venue took a while, and I still think I am missing something. The worst part was once I figured out how everything worked, it was so boring! You only get to go to the same 3 or 4 screens to hunt objects, and after a couple of visits, you already know where everything is! It's not at all challenging, as there are very few items and it's easy to spot them. You collect points and money and collectables to purchase decor and such from your "shop" but you can only buy what the game tells you to buy next! If you buy something different that you want, you don't have enough money left to then buy THEIR choice. If you do not buy what you are told to, again the game locks up and you can't move either forward or backward, or replay. It's too bad, because the graphics are nicely done, and this could have been a fun game. Sorry I spent the money on this
I don't recommend this game.

This game was a lot of fun to play and I enjoyed that it had a large variety of mini games and even things to do while playing the hidden object portion (opening cabinets, moving items) I like having a HO game I can relax with after a long day at work without having to recall all the previous clues and depressing scenery of the usual HOGs. (of which I have many). It was nice to have some challenging portions to each game so it was not super difficult or boringly too easy..
The most annoying thing for me was the story line. I normally dislike these and find them somewhat useless so I like to click to skip past them. This game does not allow a "quick click" to move on, you are stuck having to wait for each commentary. Ew.
I also turn way down the sound on most games, and hate the accompanying music, so I have no comment on the sound quality.
If anyone knows of similarly interesting HOGs like this one, please post! : )
