I am a huge fan of Boomzap's games and have all of the original Awakening series. When Apple decided to discontinue 32 bit apps on their devices, I was heartbroken. When Boomzap remastered Awakening: Dreamless Castle, I was thrilled! When I learned Boomzap was also remastering Awakening: Moonfell Wood, giving it a bonus chapter and a guide in the same way they did for Dreamless Castle, I knew I was going to buy it.
The original Moonfell Wood was released in 2011. It had a lovely storyline that continues from Dreamless Castle and goes on for four additional games and a prequel. If old school HO and puzzle games aren't your style, you will be disappointed. The graphics are beautiful and for the most part are static except for the games. The voice overs are only in cut scenes, not in dialogue between characters. I love all of this! It's beautiful and uncomplicated while still having challenges that make me think.
This is a remaster. The story has not changed. the graphics got an update and the code was updated to allow it to run on the more current Mac OS. Collectibles were added, as were some games. Penmom36 has a wonderful review breaking down all the elements of the game and what is different between the original standard edition and the remastered version. I encourage you to read her review.
I love this game. I love this game series and hope Big Fish will work with Boomzap to remaster the remainder of the series, as well as the Dana Knightstone, Botanica, and Otherworld series. I have missed playing all of these games and look forward to the day I can enjoy them once again.

In this remastered classic, reawaken in that mysterious castle, and solve perplexing puzzles to escape!

I am a huge fan of all of BoomZap's hidden object games. When Apple decided to stop supporting 32bit games on the ipad and Mac OS, I knew I was going to miss games like the Awakening series. I am so thrilled to be able to play this remastered classic on my Macbook! The graphics are so beautiful and the game is very close to the original, with an added bonus game! I hope Big Fish partners with BoomZap to remaster all their games (Awakening, Dana Knightstone, otherworld, Botanica, etc) and updated them so they can work on the newer mac OS. I would also love to see these remastered for the iPad.
