It is beyond me that there were some people who gave this game a bad review.
I found it to be enjoyable and humourous. Someone said the voiceovers were very bad. I did not find them to be a problem. When playing these games you have to expect that award winning actors are not doing the voicesovers, but everyday people. Just enjoy the game for what it is. Sun, sea, pirates and bullet stealing parrots.
I only played the demo for about 30-40 minutes, but both my daughter and I were impressed with this game in every aspect. I decided to check it out upon seeing it as editor's choice for today. I was intrigued by the storyline. I noticed that one of the characters was named Jack and I was glad to see that he is as different to Captain Jack Sparrow as night is to day.
I love the bullet stealing, people biting macaw Crazy George and I am jealous that he looks better in a pirate's hat than I do.
The visuals, audio and the overall graphics are brilliant. The attention to detail, especially the ship at the beginning, is impressive and beautifully represented.
I look forward to purchasing this game and continuing the adventure.
I only played this game for about fifteen minutes, although I don't know why I did that. I knew from the start that I was going to purchase it anyway. This is one of my top five game series and I have the whole collection. Grim Tales has always been an outstanding series, from the storylines, audio/visual, graphics, mini games and HOS, that has always left me wanting more. Thank you Grim Tales and keep them coming.
I like this game very much. It is enjoyable and not too hard to play. The mini games are interesting and intriguing. The graphics and audio are impressive. I like the storyline. An old Count wishes to be young again and doesn't care about the consequences. If he only knew that turning back the clock can be detrimental to your health and mental stability. Some people just cannot be happy with themselves and get on with enjoying their lives. The Count is allowing his vanity to cloud his judgement and what he doesn't realise, is that, for every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I would not like to be in his shoes when it all comes crashing down around him. He should know that good always wins over evil. There are some beautiful ghost ladies that want their revenge. He had better watch is back. This an enjoyable series with maps, collectables, HOS and quite a few characters to keep it interesting.
I haven't written a review for awhile. I only tend to write them about games I really enjoy. I am basing this review on the demo that I just finished. That should tell you how much I liked The Dark City: LONDON. Another great detective is on the job. A slow-paced, but intriguing game. It is very much Sherlock Holmes-like, but without Watson. I enjoy detective, crime, mystery type games and this one fits the bill. I like the storyline very much and the characters are interesting. A headless ghost has cursed the city of London in the19th century threatening to burn the city and leaves his mark on people wherever he goes. London has endured the crisis of the black plague and the burning of the city previously and it endured. I am sure it will again and reign supreme once more against this ghost. There are the usual suspects with HOS, morphing objects and collectables to keep you interested. The mini games are very good and a map is included to make the going a little easier, which you will need as ye old city of London is a big place. I am very impressed with the artwork and visual design graphics. The artists and CGI people have done an amazing job with this game. The audio cannot be faulted. The entire game has been beautifully and skillfully presented. The characters I find interesting in the way that they are very realistic and it is great to actually hear them speaking rather than just having to read the subtitles. I found that as the game went along I began putting myself in the place of the detective and I became more absorbed into the game, hellbent on getting to the truth and wanting to bring the criminal to justice. However, as they say, it's not about the destination, it's also about the journey and this is what this game is. A journey through one of the greatest cities in the world, an intriguing mystery to solve and interesting characters to interact with before reaching the final destination. I look forward to a sequel. Keep up the good work 4Friends Games, I enjoy your games very much.
I only played about ten minutes or so of this game from Grandma Games of which I have quite few.
It took a very short time for me to become very interested in the story. The main character has magic powers and has been asked to help police investigate a series of murders. For once the main character is a bloke instead of the usual female investigator, which makes for a nice change. I didn't have to play for long. The story caught me up in it straight away, so therefore, I can't tell you very much of what is going on. You will have to play it yourself. I enjoy good mysteries and with this game you will need to use the "little grey cells". There are clues to collect that relate to the murders and you have to work through them to find the answers needed to solve these crimes. Good hunting.
Storyline is great, as are the graphics, audio and visual effects.
I am looking forward to continuing this game as it has been a while since a game has caught my interest enough for me do a review.
Thank you Grandma Games for Relctions of Life series and Whispered Secrets series and I will be adding The Unseen Fears to the collection.

I didn't even finish he demo before I decided to purchase this game. I have the first game in this series, but this is much better. Graphics - Beautiful and the clarity of the scenes is amazing. The detail in everything absolutely perfect. Audio - Very good and the voiceovers are very clear. Louisa definitely has her work cut out for her. trying to solve this mystery. Obviously there is major chemistry between her and Conrad, let's hope they have a happy ending. How will she manage to help Conrad and her father Greg to solve this mystery? Apparently Conrad is a wanted man after he stole an artifact from the sect who are dangerous and will do whatever is needed to retrieve the artifact which has magical powers. Louisa saw a man turned to stone right in front of her eyes. I love the storyline and look forward to continuing the game to see if Louisa can save the day. I enjoyed the mini-games and HOS so far, even had to help the innkeeper prepare the meals for all the guests. I love cooking. There are portrait pieces to collect, so look for them. This is a mystery that had me on the edge of my seat and I even jumped a couple of times. I love a game that keeps me guessing as to what is going to happen next and this game definitely does that. Unfortunately I only played for about fifteen minutes, so I can't comment on it too much. However, from what I have already seen and played the storyline drew me in and like watching a good movie with a bowl of popcorn it made me want to continue until the end, On that note I will download the full version and make some popcorn. Enjoy this game, I know I will.
Just finished playing the demo and found it was quite long.
However, the graphics are superb and the audio very good. I loved the assorted of weird and quirky characters in the game. They ranged from being polite and helpful to extremely rude and standoffish. EIPIX seems to have a knack in being able to bring us a mix bag of personalities with the characters in their games that make them fun. Beware though, as there is definitely something sinister going on in this 19th century Victorian Hotel. The Master Detective is on the case and as always will hopefully get their villain. The HOS games are fun and the mini games range from easy to having to use your brain. There are morphing objects and ladybugs contained in the game to be found. I liked the storyline, but there are quite a few suspects and evidence for the Master Detective to sort through which is going to make it hard to bring the true criminal to justice. I found the game interesting and it flows quite well. As always I like the MCF games and they are in my top ten of game series. It will definitely keep you guessing and I am definitely buying this game.
I have the first episode Beyond: Light Advent and that was fun. With this episode, I played the demo first and was sold on it in the first ten minutes or less. I thought I would write this review before purchasing. I love the graphics. The team from MAD HEAD GAMES, that put their time and effort into producing such quality graphical scenery, should be congratulated. Fantastic, amazing, colourful and I really like the architecture. Audio is very good and the storyline seems interesting enough to make me want to continue playing. Being a sci fi fanatic this game is right up my alley. The HOS are very good and varied. There is a map to help you move from one scene to another and collectibles and morphing objects to gather. The little robot helper is a wonderful touch and adds to the adventure. I have to admit though, travelling through the wormholes on the rollercoaster ride was very realistic. So much so it messed with my equilibrium and I had to look away from the screen. It made me a little dizzy, but what a ride. Thomas and his Mum look set for a wild ride of their own as they try to make their way back home, having to deal with futuristic villains and talking robots. Thomas has this amazing power where he can create portals. With this new found power he is able to create portals to help his Mum. I like this game, but I must admit that the thing I love the most is the graphics. I cannot say enough about them. Visually the game is brilliant and one of the best I have seen in a game for quite a while. Well done!!! I recommend this for intermediate and expert players. Thank you MAD HEAD.
I just finished playing the demo and thought it quite an interesting game. It does have it moments that would and could make someone with a nervous disposition what to jump and run and hide. However, I guess I am made of stronger stuff. I liked the effects that were created in this game as in the other Maze games I have played. It has that certain good looks of deterioration and decay, although a little paint and some curtains wouldn't go astray. The young girl REALLY needs a timeout and some major pyschotherapy. THE emphasis on therapy not pyscho, she definitely has enough of that to go round in spades. The storyline is a battle of wits of evil versus good between the little pyscho-puppy and Subject 360. It is a test of fear and a battle of wills to see who is the strongest of the two. Is it all a dream? Is Subject 360 in a coma due a car accident with a deer, or is she in some kind of alternate reality? Who knows? I did have a bit of laugh at one point which I enjoyed and thought the humour was very dry, but natural. It had to do with a windup doll with no hair. I won't say anymore, I will leave it up to the other players to decide. Like the other games in this series Subject 360 has a sense of the macabre, just the right amount of fear factor and a sense of having to look over your shoulder the whole time. Just stay strong and one step ahead of yourself and maybe you will make it through. Or will you? A brilliant game.

I have been playing the hidden object games for a while now, but rarely have I seen such an amazing and beautifully presented game as this one. The FIVE-BN team that created this, in what I can only hope, will the first in a long line of games of this caliber, outdid themselves. Like another beta-tester, I bought this game unseen and I am very happy that I did. I have only played about fifteen minutes of the game so far and I couldn't wait until I finished it to put in my review. Alice is a young woman who found a Phoenix egg. Once hatched the bird's spirit became one with Alice's spirit. She is in dire need of help from her uncle, whom she has never met. She witnessed the death of her father, but managed to escape into the bush (the woods) before the soldiers captured her. I look forward to continuing the journey with Alice as she ventures forward in the hope of finding answers and salvation. Along the way there will be morphing objects, a vast array of collectibles to be found, make sure you look for them all. A map to help transport you from one scene to another, achievements to earn, strategy guide to help you when needed, mini-games and HOS aplenty. I am so very impressed with this game. I bought it as I liked some of the comments of other beta-testers and boy!!! were they right. To be able to look upon the most amazing graphics I have yet seen in any game and to listen to the astounding audio effects and music, I feel like I am part of the story. There is so much to look at in each scene and I took my time to look at everything as the colours, art work and realism draws you in to every scene. It has made me want to take my time and savour every single second of this game. Thank you FIVE-BN. I can't wait to go back to the game and continue enjoying playing Darkness and Flame: Born Of Fire. There is not much more that I can say, except buy the game and enjoy playing, even if it is to travel through the most beautiful graphically presented game I have played so far. I know I will, over and over again.
