The story sounds like it would be very interesting. The graphics are great. However, there is nothing that tells me what I am supposed to do. All I have is the hint button and it takes longer to load than I like. I don't like sitting there waiting for it. This game badly needs an ingame strategy guide. If you like to fumble around wondering what to do next, fine, but I don't want it.
The first HOP that I got into made me so angry that I quit the trial. I was using the tutorial and it wanted to show me how to use the hint. Well, I did not need to use the hint because I was doing just fine without it. However, it would not let me go past it. I could not even go to the menu to get out of the game. I had to use ctrl-alt-del, sign out, sign in. This ruined the entire game for me. DON'T EVEN TRY IT!
This game is impossible to play. You have to start out by finding 21 pieces of paper and I could never find all of them. The hint does absolutely nothing. You have to pick it up and there are no instructions as to what you are to do with it. It doesn't show you where anything is. DON'T BOTHER TO TRY IT.
I got so engrossed in playing the trial that I forgot that I was supposed to be doing my laundry. It is a thoroughly fascinating game with great graphics, a very interesting story line and one I am definitely going to buy.
At the start of the game you are sitting in the cockpit of an airplane. From there, you have to guess as to what you are supposed to. There is not even an explanation during the loading as to what the game is about. Usually, you have a dialogue regarding to the background of the plot. Nothing here at all.
I was very disappointed. It starts with some unknown man looking at his computer. He sees something good and goes racing to the airport. There is no explanation as to why he is there. He just looks impatient and then unhappy and leaves. No explanation for why. This is not the right way to start a game. It turned me totally off after just a few minutes.
I do not recommend this game to anyone. It starts out by sticking you in a place where you have to do things without any idea of what it is you are supposed to do. You are totally trapped. I had to do the ctrl-alt-del sign out sign in to get out of the game.
I have never in my entire life played a game that was so extremely difficult. I had to buy the strategy guide which should have been built into the game. The first time I played it, I got stuck in the caves under the lighthouse because the hint didn't bother to tell me that I needed a hook that was near the typewriter. Because I lacked that information, I decided to start over. The second time, I didn't even get that far because that was when I decided to buy the guide. I started over again, using the strategy guide. I had to keep both the game and the guide open and not use full-screen mode which is what I prefer in most games. I had to go back and forth between the game and the guide constantly. One thing that the game didn't bother to tell me was to collect 40 souls which were hidden so well in the scenes that even with the guide telling me where to look I had a very hard time finding them. When I stopped playing for the day at 11:45 pm, I had found only 14 of the 18 I should have found by then. I am going to continue to play the game to the end only because I am not a quitter and will not let a game get the best of me. However, I wish I had never bought it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
