I quite like it. I'm actually downloading it right now. The game has some unusual twists to it. Basically, someone leaves a baby on your doorstep, and you follow them. There is a guy that at first tells you not to follow him, but then is relieved when you do. Kind of the same bad guy story except you are actually carrying a baby around.
You have four modes of play the last is custom, which is very specific. You are able to remove the sparkles which I know a lot of people will love. You can also remove things from the map, if you don't want help there. There are : 7 chapters 1 bonus chapter 3 small hidden chapters IF you find all the hidden roses Hidden roses Morphing objects So far I have encountered some mini-games I haven't seen before. They haven't been the most challenging, but they have been interesting. You can lock the inventory. Everything, your tasks, map, etc. is in a phone for you to look at during the game, which is quite nice. The HO scenes seem to also have a different twist to them. So far you seem to be clearing the scenes a couple at a time, instead of carrying around items for half the game until you play them. The game is fun! But, it may not be for everyone, so please try it out. Happy gaming all!
For the first time in awhile I've been excited about a game from the time I started playing it, especially a SE. Essentially it's because of the "basics", the storyline and gameplay, and not the extras. While playing the 9 Clues demo the hour mark snuck up and it shut off on me and I said, "What, NO!". Lol. THAT hasn't happened for awhile either. :)
You are a paranormal private investigator that is going to save your reporter friend. When you show up in the town you encounter serpent-looking entities and humans that are just not......right. Your friend is missing, so you begin your search. You have a map that is not interactive but tells you where new areas and objectives are, there are 3 modes of play, and the hint is helpful. Or it was to me, I was playing on Advance. There is a journal at the bottom that keeps track of the people you meet, and the objectives you must reach. There are the normal HO scenes. Then, and this is what I thought was really cool, there are scenes where you pick out what objects were used in the commission of a crime. Your character then "investigates". The puzzles did not seem to be too hard. Visually the graphics were ok. When characters talk to you they do not pause, you do not click to get them to continue. I found if you click on them you will miss something because you will click through their speech. So be careful! Your character does not talk back. I turn off the music when I play so I cannot remark upon that. I think that this game is well formed and thought out especially for a SE. As always try it yourself first to see if you like it! Happy Gaming! Thank you BigFish for a different storyline!
It's not a bad game, it's just for a CE game it's not up to the normal standards, at least for advanced players. Like I said it is like a good SE game. Although with the sale if you have bought all of the other CE games, you may get this, but if you have other choices I suggest you use it on them. I found myself getting bored.
Once again you are fighting evil, as a member of the League of Light. I turn off the music so I can not comment on it, but the voices are good. It starts off with a clip of you in front of the League getting your first assignment. You are sent to Sorrow's Well in the Black Mountains to speak with Elton Finch, the leader of the village. A beast has come from the Dark Lord's Castle. As soon as you get their Finch's "beautiful" daughter is kidnapped by the flying beast. You ride off to save her.
There are 1) 3 modes of play Casual, Advanced, & Hardcore 2) HO scenes vary from 5-8 silhouette items that you find one object & use it on another 3) Puzzles seem to be pretty simple 4) There are owls to find throughout, but they are very plainly visible 5) Map is interactive 6) There are 10 achievements, but they are pretty bad, like one is for watching the credits, and you have to answer a Very simple multiple choice question to get another 7) The other "Extras" are Wallpaper, Concept art, & Music
I'm sorry I could not figure out how many chapters, but I'm guessing since there are 34 owls to get in the whole game, I'm saying there are 6-7 chapters. The SG only shows 2 chapters and it does NOT show a BONUS CHAPTER anywhere that I could see! Not a bad game, but not worth a CE rating. Definitely worth trying the demo though, but I personally am waiting for the SE.
I do not write many reviews, but this game was very good, it has great imagination. I wrote this off of the demo, then I bought the game.
Elf is back as your detective sidekick, but this time you are back at your headquarters in Silent Hollows. Someone is harming your fellow agents and their pet sidekicks. During this game you get to collect your fellow secret agent's cool toys such as x-ray glasses, and their powers. I don't want to spoil it for people so I won't tell what they are, but it looks like you get three powers. The drawing of the pets is amazing! I feel they did a great job putting time into a story line. I can't comment on the music because I turn it off, but the talking clips were quick and not close together. I found the HO's easy and the puzzles fun. The point of the game is to save the agency. There are six chapters and a bonus chapter. A map that shows tasks and allows you to jump locations, and direction giving hints.
The are 4 modes of play casual, advanced, hardcore, and detective (which means your cursor doesn't change over active areas, & no hints, skips or sparkles.) You get to collect coins along the way to use for Elf. There are also Hints that can be bought that have to do with the powers. You also collect dossiers on the pets and agents as you come across them in the game. I believe there are thirteen of each. Lastly there are many achievements to collect. I'm glad to have a game come out that is fun, and different! Thanks Elephant!
If you love HO games with little thought to them, and you like to read subtitles then this is for you. The game has been out on other sites for quite awhile, I am surprised BF brought it here because of how simple it is. Basically you get a Help me! message from Zach as you are pulling up to a spooky house to meet him. He turns up missing. You then meet a ghost that asks you to help save her ancestors. EVERY thing you do has sparkles, and it's either picking up an object, HO scenes, or simple puzzles. But, the puzzles are few and far between. There is no need for the hint button. There is no map, no mode of play (casual, hard). I found the music annoying, I turned it off. Even though I did, it still plays during the HO scenes until you hit a few items. I did not play the whole game by far, but the story line is ok, it is just too boring for me. I can't be hand held this much in a game. If you just want to vegg out and have a free game punch to spare this is a good game for you. I'm not one to give 1 star because somebody worked hard on this game, and this is a decent game for HO lovers. It's just not challenging.
Well, the storyline seemed like it could have been good, that's the only positive I can give this game. You are Alice, and your father, an archaeologist, disappeared 20 years ago. You receive a letter from him with coordinates, and off you go to a village. There are no voice overs, the story goes by very quickly, if you turn away you will miss it. But, the quality of the graphics is very poor. The HO areas consist of actual tiny pictures of objects and you find those. The objects are hard to identify. The screen doesn't even move in some places, it tilts, like on an axis. It reminds me of games I played years ago. I did not encounter any puzzles in the 10-15 minutes that I played. This game seemed very sub-par compared to the great games they have been making. I definitely wouldn't spend money on this one. I know you can't win them all, better luck next time!
Confront an ancient evil and uncover your true! After a startling revelation changes your world forever, you must embark on an epic journey to save mankind.
At first I was excited about a different story line, but then I felt I was paying a game from 3 years ago. I played the demo for 25 to 30 minutes hoping it would get better, but it never did. This falls far short on graphics, challenge, and quality of the games put out usually. But, hey you can't win them all.
This is the first review I have wrote for a game. I think this is an extremely fun game! It reminds me of the game Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town in the way it is set up. They do stick to the 1000 doors story line, but if you are new to the series (like me), it is not too hard to follow. The graphics are beautiful, I usually turn down the music so I can not speak for that, but the fun factor is definitely there. I love the way that you are able to see yourself interact with the other people in the scenes. The CE version is worth the $$ this time with 40 morphing objects to find, after each 10 they open up a new puzzle, then you have slightly interactive HO scenes, the puzzles are good (some are pretty challenging), and then as I've said the beautiful changing scenery as you go from portal to portal to try and save the world. There are 6 chapters and a bonus chapter. Happy gaming!
