This is a horror story with a complex plot. The graphics are imaginative. There are plenty of hidden object puzzles, some of which I found challenging. The bonus chapter is full of them and tests your memory as some of the objects you have seen before. The mini games are good and different. I particularly liked the atmosphere of this game, and it is a good one to have in your library to play again.
Play this in a dark room on your own and don't skip the end! The game play is very integrated. No annoying hunting for silly irritating items. The puzzles were totally right for the situations encountered. I loved the way the player switches characters to advance the story. You really have to think hard. It is really worth getting the CE version as there are puzzles and more puzzles plus the extras we like. This is a great clever game for a collection. It is not pretty though!
It is worth playing for the beautiful and fascinating visual aspects alone. Characters and story are great and sound too. I skipped some of the puzzles because I could not get on with the story fast enough, but since I had the Collector's Edition I knew that they were there to be done at the end. This is world building at its best. Buy and enjoy!
This is a breath of fresh air owing to its unique qualities. At some stage I would like to play it again. There is never a boring moment. The art, music, story and puzzles are in a class of their own. The characters are so well designed. WELL DONE developers!

There is a very satisfying pace to this game, and I never got bored at any time. It is very relaxing - I chose to play at a casual level with regard to puzzle solving, but you can opt for a harder and more challenging experience. The HOPS are inventive. Graphics and sound are good. Well done developers.
I reviewed this as a standard edition, but I actually played the CE which is even better, with more to do and things to collect. I will not repeat what I said for the SE, but I must say that the CE gives a lot of satisfaction with a long bonus chapter and the ability to replay puzzles. It is now Boxing Day in Tasmania and I have a new desktop wallpaper with a merry crew saluting the Christmas spirit. Well done devs!
Just finished this today, Boxing Day, Tasmania. I needed a nice Christmas fix and this fitted the bill. It has good puzzles that can be played on various levels of difficulty and pleasant HOP'S with an option to play an alternative match 3 game. The graphics were bright, which suits the theme. It is a very jolly game and grandma with the physics degree can play alongside the child. There is something in this concoction for everyone.
I had such a lot of pleasure playing this, and my review is based on my personal experience playing this to the end. It is rattling good fantasy stuff. The puzzles and HOP's were enjoyable and varied. The latter were a particular challenge. A lot of care and hard work went into the creation of this game. The graphics were good and clear. The bonus game was very unique.
My ratings are based on the level of satisfaction I felt when playing this to the end. I realize that this would not be for everyone. It is story and mini games rich. I thought the puzzles were excellent at a varied levels of difficulty. There is a significantly lesser number of HOP's, and they were not over difficult by comparison, but they were very attractive. The graphics suited the moody brooding atmosphere and in parts there is some mistiness, but it was in keeping with the theme.

I gave it 5*'s on all counts because it was so hugely enjoyable and different. It is a bit of a classic and has that old classic feel to it. The music and sound effects were atmospheric and fitted the story perfectly. The HOP's were a challenge and I had to resort to the hint button at times. The puzzles were lovely and fitted into the story extremely well.
