I love 5-BN. This is a rich back story to the original game with Ulf, Lucia and Scarlett. I love how the separate vignettes tie the whole story together. This dev takes it's time creating games that are wonderful stories with great graphics/music and voice overs. The game is long and well worth the price. This is puzzle heavy, just an FYI to puzzle haters. The only quibble I had was that the strategy guide was hard to get too. Loved this game!
Lots of glitches so you have to reload the game and create another player. The story line is sooooo convoluted, you don't know what character you are currently playing. Typical Domini game... They have dumbed down problem solving like, "this bench is broken, what should I do?" Ridiculous excuse for a game. They could have done justice to the musketeer saga, but they failed miserably.
I like games that are longer and engaging but this was anything but engaging. It just kept going on and on with repetitive tasks. I never learn my lesson and continue to buy Domini. I'm done This was not good.
DO is rehashing characters from a previous game. There is nothing original here. It is a disoriented story with three vignettes. I will admit the story length is decent, but I don't get why it is considered a romance story. Each segment is just plain weird. There really is no back story so that you get engaged in the character's actions. There are a lot of HOP's but I got bored fast. The colors and voice overs are decent compared to Dominis past games. The collectibles were difficult to find. I found I had to use the strategy guide a lot which was really no help and poorly put together. I boycotted buying Domini games for a while thinking they would reorganize... I guess changing your brand to DO doesn't help if you don't improve the product you put out there.
This game is incredibly short. The graphics are great, and the sound is good. I think the storyline could have been developed a little bit better, It seems hastily thrown together to imitate the Little mermaid narrative. I don't get a clear sense of what's going on here. I guess the protagonist is supposed to represent Ursala and the siren /mermaid is the evil one. I think a little more backstory about all the characters would be good.
i fully recommend this game! What a great story line! My only quibble is that I like a match 3 instead of HOPs most of the time... I don't need all the bells and whistles with a collector's edition... this is a nice game to fill your evening!
It was really hard to get beyond the really bad voice acting. Then there is the nonsensical storyline. Most puzzles and characters actions made zero sense. The gadget owl took forever to fly to a high area then you had to watch it fly all the way back after you were done. Some of the characters were not well done, artistically. The Goddess had bleached hair and some serious black eye liner and the Asian female characters were wearing ridiculous stereotypical dresses. Save your money this was bad!
Five BN is by far one of the best devs out there. The HOP's are challenging and the puzzles in hard mode are awesome. The graphics are superb and the cut scenes have no comparisons that I have come across in any Big Fish game... and I play a lot of games. This is a promising series with an intriguing storyline. The first game followed the sister/ brother werewolf story line that involved a good witch "Scarlett". This game follows Scarlett as she tries to save the world. The only qualms I had were that I wanted to see more of the sister/ werewolf brother story unfold, but perhaps that is in the next game. Also, Scarlett's voice is a little emotionless and flat. I reasoned that as a "witch" she has learned to be cool, calm and collected as she has a little magic to back herself up with. Way to go Five BN... I wish you could speed up dropping new games, but I'll take quality over quantity anytime.
This game is sooo different from cookie cutter games of late. It has a great story line, interesting characters and some really difficult puzzles and HOPs. I really enjoyed it and hope Mad Head sends us more of this type of game. It's also hilarious! I enjoyed every minute.
Well I could kick myself. I was in the mood to buy a game on sale and I have enjoyed games from this series from Domini in the past. I also play some of Domini's other series but have have been bothered about the rehashing of storyline across game series. I thought maybe this one would be a redemption. NOPE. 1. This game is really buggy. During action scenes or if water is flowing/ fire burning/bugs flying-the game stutters and stops a bit. Very annoying. I see from other reviews there are some crashes and failures to start up. 2. PURPLE OVERLOAD on visuals 3. The voice acting is not acting it's reading. 4. The script is like a bad soap opera. 5. New scene-repeat actions. Fan poisonous flowers, find something to feed a cute critter, find six parts of a small crest just to open a small duffle bag to get a tweezer. 6. Every scene seemed to have some preposterous action: Worst (Sorry spoiler) As a polar bear is attacking a woman (in Transylvania?) the hero stops to look in her purse nearby and says (I kid you not) "I'm sure she won't mind me looking in her bag." Stay away unless you need a good laugh
