My first Dark Parables game and I was not disappointed. I found it hard to stop playing. I found the story engaging and well written and the music was very easy to listen to while playing. The graphics were excellent being clear and easily viewed even in dark scenes. The game is an adventure in which you work through hidden object screens where you find fragments of three parts of an item that will be used somewhere. The fragments are well blended in the scene and you have to look closely to find some of them. Also, you will have various puzzles scattered along the way such as placing colored marbles on specific colored squares, matching items to places in a scene, etc. Most are fairly easy but may require some thought. There are a lot of places to visit and many are just one visit for an iten needed later. There are some morphing objects to be found also. After finishing the game, I was told that I could play it again in hard mode, which apparently is without hints. I have purchased some of the other games in this series and can't wait to play them. Highly recommended.
I have enjoyed all of the MCF games so far and this one was no exception. An interesting story which is fleshed out through the use of video tapes found throughout the game. You are dealing with ancient relics and legends that unfold as you play and you must release a spirit to set things right. Being more of an adventure game then HOG, there are a lot of puzzles to figure out with some HOS sprinkled throughout. You need to find a lot of items during the game that are used to solve the puzzles while some objects are not needed until the very end. I especially enjoyed the final scenes where the celtic alphabet was needed. I almost forgot I had found a piece of paper that had that on it but when I did realize I had it I was able to finish the game. Another area I had trouble with was one of the objects needed at the very end which was obtained from the thermometer you discover early in the game. The graphics and sound were excellent and you actually get the illusion that it is getting colder if you are immersed in the game. A very well done game.
I recommend this game!

Whenever I just want to do pure hidden object type games I can always count on the Mystery P.I. series
Even though there is a story to follow your primary goal is to do the HOS and find a clue that is used at the end to solve the final puzzle. There are 25 sets of screens with a puzzle at the end of each set that yields the clue. Each screen is nicely drawn and most objects are easily found with always the 4 or 5 that are better hidden that are the real challenge. There is a hint button that rechages fairly fast. Also hidden are some other objects that are collected that open thye unlimited play. In this one it was keys and apples and a third bonus item that gave extra points which was magnifying glasses. A good game to spend a few minutes on when you want something else to do.
Investigating murders, doing the lab work and researching the clues I enjoy but when the items in the HOS are so small because the scenes small made the game tedious. I also felt that the characters during the cartoon conversations were a bit over done and arrogant - woman power I guess. Most of the puzzles were ok and fairly easy to do and the color reactions of the reagents used in the lab puzzles was a nice touch. By the time I got to the end I was ready for it to be over. I played three in the series and probably won't do the 4th. I barely recommend this game if you don't mind the small items.

I like hidden object games but I also want a fair chance to finding the items. Many of these scenes contained such tiny and obsecure items that it only became visible when asking for a hint. Because of this I did not enjoy the puzzles as I just wanted to finish this and move on. Many reviewers indicated there was not a penalty for misclicking but I found that to be not true. After several clicks, the hint bubble would empty and that added to the frustration as it took a very long time to refill. Often you had several locations to visit and there was a movement between them by clicking on foot prints on the side which was nice. The music was tedious, the story was ok but was just there as a filler. Just your basic HOS (with extremely small and hard to see objects) with a filler story between scenes.
I could not believe this was about the same people from the first game Asylum Conspiracy. Some of the names were the same but the characters looked different and the only thing I could find that tied the two games together was that the first game mentioned the boy becoming a violinist who went to play for an opera company. Everything else from the first game was missing. The storyline for this game was lame and the ending was terrible and really made little sense. the character you play didn't even have a name, was just called stage hand. The hidden object screens were poorly presented and some items were intentionally made obscur and so hard to find that even with the hint button some were not visible and were found only by clicking in the general area. I have purchased the third in the series but hold no expectations for it after playing this one. I only hope it is better. I don't recommend buying this game based on the first one as it is not really a sequel as to storyline.
A very well written story and presentation that I enjoyed a great deal. The graphics were very good and the sound was great and not overbearing. The puzzles were well thought out and it was fairly easy to follow the flow of the game. Most minigames I was able to do but some I had to skip as I was unsure as to the goal. I found the story engaging and time went by fast as i was engrossed in helping her find out what was happening. The ending set it up for the sequel and I looked forward to playing it.
I recommend this game!

Good game for something to do when you have a few minutes to kill.
A pretty straight forward hidden object game with very limited story and interaction. You do a few HOS then play a mini-game then more HOS, minigame, etc. Sometimes the objects were discovered by word association such as 'used to walk dogs' or 'eats cheese', etc. for dog lesh or rat or mouse. Puzzles to solve #minigames# were a mixture of jigsaw, match three, word search, create the picture by turning the pieces to correct orientation. You play 25 levels collecting pieces of a photo used in the final part of the game to discover a mine location that leads to leaving the valley. There are also scattered throughout the game locks and keys that when found are added to a total of 25 #they are not in every HOS# and this unlocks bonus match 3 games and unlimited hidden object search that can be played anytime.
