This is one of those games that you get so engulfed in that before you know it - there is that pesky 'your trial period has expired' popup. LOL.
This is definitely a cross between match-3 and tower defense. But there is also a 'building' aspect to it as well.
There is a LOT going on in this game. You will need to pay a lot of attention to different aspects in order to succeed.
You essentially start out with a new city. Then you choose buildings to build in order to provide items/resources. IE, farm, armory, lumber mill etc. You gather resources at these places to purchase items to use in 'battle mode'.
In 'battle mode', you play a 'match 3' game where your 'matches' fire weapons on intruders. Your fortress is your match-3 board.
You research things like spells, weapons etc to use in game and you use towns people to complete certain tasks. You also enact 'policies' to advance your town. These, IMO, policies get annoying after a while.
It is a great game, no doubt. But it is also very complex - a lot going on and it may very well take you more than the demo to get the hang of it. But it is definitely worth a buy!
I recommend this game!

I'm not sure if it's the same developer or not, but I own the 'Mosaics Galore' game and this is quite similar in gameplay.
The title of the game drew my attention and then after seeing the parrot picture I had to give it a try - being a parrot owner and enthusiast. I'm glad I did!
I'll warn you at the get-go, I only played this game for six minutes before deciding to buy it. I rarely do that. But the game gives you the option of timed or normal mode (so if you don't like one you can use the other). So with several modes of gameplay, it should satisfy anyone.
There is also a 'fever mode' where you have to really rush to complete the puzzle.
There is a great trophy system and the music is quite pleasant. The main game screen plays what sounds like a modern pop song you'd hear on the radio. That's different.
I recommend this game!

I'm surprised this game has only 2 reviews so far.
This is one of those 'unique' Match-3 games. It's along the lines of being a cross between Tetris and your average match-3. You are given puzzle pieces of certain shapes that you then have to place on the board in order to clear it. Some puzzle pieces 'unlock' blocked cells which then have to be cleared again, sort of like with the Fishdom series.
Bottom line is this, give the trial a go. If you like match 3 games (Fishdom, Bejeweled etc) and if you like Tetris, you'll find this game quite enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

While it's nice to see BFG add a new TM/Strategy game to its catalog, I'm not too impressed with this addition.
The graphics are okay, about average for a TM game. You have three game modes to choose from: Relaxed (no timer), Normal and Expert mode. You also have a list of achievements to collect.
I like TM games that have added things like achievements/trophies.
My two main issues with this game are the timer and the annoying voice-overs. The music is pleasant but repetitive. The constant repeating of phrases 'I'm almost done' or 'I love my job' get annoying rather quickly.
Then there is the timer. When you struggle to get 3 stars on the third level, it doesn't bode well for the game.
I get that this is a TM 'strategy' game. But I don't expect frustration like that unless you either in 'Expert' mode or in a later level. But at level 3 you are still learning the aspects of the game.
I think it's more of a developers error. Considering, for me anyways, that not being able to get the 3 stars boils down to 'waiting' for resources says to me they didn't put much thought into the process.
If you don't care about playing timed or about achievements, you may enjoy this game. But for me, it's a no buy.
I would REALLY like to see more TM games that are the likes of the 'Royal Envoys', 'Island Tribes' or 'Northern Tales' series.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm a HUGE horror/sci-fi fan and I look forward to these more 'adult-related' horror games (such as True Fear). The warning of this game is what drew me in to read the plot, which sounded very intriguing. However, it was a major let down.
Like previous reviewers have said - the game does live up to the title - it is an empty game.
A lot of back and forth with little idea of where you are going and for what reason. I don't expect to get my hand held through a horror-related game, but if you are gonna stick someone in a game and make them find their own way out, make sure it is scary enough to make them want to find a way out, rather than using the 'exit game' option due to disinterest.
I expected this game to have more depth given the large file size. I also think the game does not live up to the warning nor does it live up to the intriguing plot summary.
Save yourself the trouble of the demo. It ain't worth it.
I don't recommend this game.

Well, I found the storyline rather confusing - as if too many things were being told (or trying to be told) and much of it not adding up.
I really liked the extras that were included and I found the graphics to be decent. I especially liked the HOPs - they weren't your typical 'list', at least not in the demo.
Despite these pluses, I won't be buying this game - at least not the CE version. Reason being is I have a feeling the game is exceptionally short. There are only 6 chapters in the story (not including the bonus). Normally, that would be okay, but you get the first 2 chapters with the demo and seeing as I was able to complete both with 30min to spare says to me - based on what I had played that the game can't be more than 3hrs which is way too short for a CE. Collector's Editions should at LEAST be 4hrs, preferably 5 or 6 - depending on the story. The more captivating the story - the longer I want the game to be.
I'm not familiar with the rest in this series, but at least this one is a no-go for me.
I don't recommend this game.

So I was sorting through the BFG catalog looking for some different games - other than the standard HO,TM & Match-3 as I have so many of those. I have found a few 'puzzle' gems in my search and this is one of them.
Nothing really captured my attention right off. It seems like a simple game without much flare. But then there are all the 'glowing reviews' which made me curious, so I decided to try it. Boy am I glad I did. This game is awesome and super addictive. The demo just flew by and I've been playing the game for several days now and I just love it. Give the demo a try!
I recommend this game!

I found this game thoroughly enjoyable.
It requires deductive logic to solve. It's sort of got a 'clue' element to it. You need to find out which person is in which room with what object/item etc.
While the graphics are pretty old school, that wasn't a major issue for me.
My main complaint is the game length. It's way too short of a game, IMO. You can finish it in one night. Is it worth the price? $3 - yes, $7 - no.
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo:
Let me start off by agreeing with other reviewers on something. It is more of the same old - in terms of its predecessors. But that's not a bad thing if the game is good to begin with. If you make a sequel, you can't really go too far outside the box or it isn't really a sequel is it? But rather its own game in its own right.
I was able to complete 11 levels plus a bonus in the demo time and that time just flew by.
The graphics are the same as is the gameplay. Like in the 2nd installment, you have a 'puzzle piece' to find in each level which you will need to complete the puzzle after you finish each 'land' (ie 1.***, 2.***, 3.*** etc).
I was a bit disappointed that there is no mini-game at the end of each 'land' (at least I couldn't find one and I looked pretty hard).
Based on my interpretation, it appears there are around 50 levels plus 5 bonus levels as well as the puzzle levels. There is an achievement system like in previous installments.
You have 3 methods of gameplay to choose from - 'relaxed', 'normal' and 'expert'. So there is a choice for any and every TM player.
Aside from there being no 'mini-games', my only complaint is the 'puzzle' level at the end of each 'land' is boring. All you do basically, is assemble the jigsaw.
I'm giving this game five stars cause of how much I do like it, but I'm gonna lower the 'fun factor' rating due to my not seeing any 'mini-games' in this installment.
I recommend this game!

I hated the first installment. The second one was better and this one is better than both prior installments BUT I still didn't care much for it.
Same complaints as the prior installment. Some things way too easy and others way too complex. This series is clearly not well thought out. Even their website is riddled with errors. If they can't even maintain a 'proper website' why should we expect them to release proper games?
I thought that MadHead did a great job with "Cadenza", but it appears that may very well be a 'one-hit wonder' for MadHead as I think the "Nevertales" series are a joke. I really don't get the glowing reviews this game gets.
I only played about 2/3 of the game. I completed the first two and since my opinion of them didn't change, I doubt this one will either. I will probably just skip the end of it.
If you want to know the ending - which I don't care about now - I'd suggest going with the SE since the strategy guide is useless.
I don't recommend this game.
