Not a lot of extra morph's, not a lot of collectables, not a lot of achievements.
Very refreshing to not have to worry about all the bling!
Great games and really enjoyable game play. This game does not hold your hand throughout, however it does give you the info you need to proceed without help from the SG.
Spoiler: I love the fact that interactive items are not highlighted. Way fun to figure out!
I really did like the game, and I would've given it five stars, however the map is really kind of annoying as you can't jump from one map to the next. You have to back track to go to a prior locations map. It would've been nice to have the map with tabs for each chapter.
I also thought it ended quite abruptly, actually comically fast. The ghost seriously gave something away??????
There also wasn't any collectables in the bonus chapter. I think it's a real let down in the bonus chapter when you're not looking for extras anymore.
I couldn't find any achievements, there were lots of collectables and morphs, but I don't know if I got them all as I didn't find a tab in the extras menu for them. Perhaps I will visit the forum and see.........
Fun game. Lots to do, many beautiful scenes. Carries on the Series nicely. I was waiting for a fairy tale as all of the new games coming out lately are so dark. I knew this game was coming out, so saved my credits and used them to get this game free.
Lots of fun, glad I waited. I like the different types of "inventory" not your normal, candle, magnet and brush. You had to think were to use things, it wasn't obvious.
I liked the morphing parables that are not easy, and the collectables are nicely done throughout.
Overall a nice effort on the developers side, I can see myself playing again.
You be the judge, at least try the demo if you like the series. If you liked the last game in the series, you should like this.
I liked the game after forgetting the name and not comparing it to Serpents Flame! A good solid game, not House of Thousand Doors quality though.
COMPLETELY different than the others in the series. When I saw this come out, I almost bought it immediately, however I saw all of the really bad reviews so ran the demo first.
Unlike the other games, I didn't see any morphing objects, just the "grimaces" which looked like ink blots most of the time and can be quite hard to find. Not a bad thing in my opinion. Makes the game more challenging.
Things I didn't care for:
NO MORPH"S? Has achievements, helpers, cartoonish graphics, lots of purple. Kate speaks and I wish she didn't! Map was useful but boring. Graphics are not nearly what they are in the other games in the series.
Things I liked: Different mini-games, not too hard but not too easy, interactive HOPS, decent story, not a lot of back and forth and lots to do in each scene.
Overall, I would've given it a four or possibly five, but I can't completely get over the name. If it had come out under a different name like "The House of Lancaster's", I would probably be raving about it even if it is like all of the recent game releases.
Try it yourself, it's got a lot of good features going for it.
If you can stop comparing it to Serpent's Flame and treat it as a stand alone, you might be pleasantly surprised.
I ended up buying with free credits, on a Monday so earned a free game, not a bad deal in my opinion. I want to finish, I'm hoping with the full game I'll find some MORPH'S!
Nice game from Eipix. Nice addition to the series. Only played part of the Demo. Enough to know this is a definite buy, but since my second game credit kicks in next week I will make myself wait!
I really enjoyed the game! Not difficult, somewhat easy if you've played other Eipix games as they have taken many mini games and puzzles of past games and put them in this one.
I was able to get all achievements first go round, you are able to replay games, HOS after play to accomplish achievements and find souvenirs.
Graphics are awesome, as usual.
Story line somewhat all over the place, but it didn't really bother me as it didn't effect the game play.
The usual bling, morphing objects, collectables and doable achievements.
Game play was quick and understandable. I can see myself playing this many times.
As with a lot of games lately, the story line is sub-par. Only reason why it didn't get 5 stars in my review.
I liked it. Kept with the series, much like the guardian's. I can see myself playing multiple times to get all achievements without hints or the SG.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the story line was pretty hokey. Didn't make much sense from a common sense point of view, but it is a game, and I liked the game play.
I read other reviews where Kira's voice was annoying, I found the glasses much more distracting!
Collectables, understandable achievements if you've played guardian's ( the jig saw puzzle pieces are present again!).
Length was decent, mini games not too difficult but made me think a bit, nothing really new, but nothing horrible either. Hidden object scenes were a little varied which is nice and the extra book finds are fun.
I recommend you try it and judge for yourself. I also recommend playing the guardian's it got me addicted!
