You're on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond's shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you've got to find the shards before they do...X
Just finished the game and enjoyed every moment, which is very rare for me. The graphics are sharp and clear, everything you need to find does not reduce to frustrating pixel hunting. The HO screens look cluttered, but they are designed so that everything you need is in plain view and actually look like what you expect, something not all of these games manage.
The puzzles are not mind numbing but the logic is impeccable and anyone with some experience of these games will have no problem solving the challenges.
I enjoyed collecting the Smithsonian fact cards and learning little snippets about the institution but don't think like the game is just an advertisement, its all very well done.
The story is some hokum about the Hope Diamond containing the co-ordinates to find The Philosopher's Stone but really its almost irrelevant, as so many of these games plots are. The point is that the gameplay flows really well and you never find yourself stuck with objects that you haven't the faintest idea what you are supposed to do with them.
All in all a very enjoyable experience, if a little on the short side.
A nice little story about star crossed lovers and your quest to find out what exactly took place on a fateful day in 1887. I enjoyed this from start to finish, only one puzzle caused me to get a hint so the whole game moved smoothly through the various chapters.
The locations are beautifully drawn and its easy to find the hotspots where actions take place, the puzzles are mostly putting objects back together so not too brain taxing. One thing I liked was that there were not so many screens in each location so that the amount of backtracking is minimal.
Highly recommended for an intriguing and relaxing few hours of gaming.
I recommend this game!

I am more of a point and click Adventure Game fan so I don't expect too much from these hidden object games but this was really enjoyable. The graphics are perfectly in keeping with the era that the game is set in and the game has enough distinctive touches to set it apart from the other casual games I have played.
I particularly liked how you get a couple of early opportunities to make wrong guesses as to who the murderer is because I don't know the book so I went with the obvious suspects which, being Agatha Christie, is always the wrong choice! Once a certain relationship is revealed it is obvious at the end who the murderer is but that doesn't detract from the plot at all.
The mini games added just enough challenge to raise the game above the 'casual' level. My only gripe is that some of the objects are ridiculously well hidden but I guess that comes with the territory. Overall, an extremely enjoyable game, just a bit on the short side.
I recommend this game!

One of the better attempts to meld a CSI type game with a casual Hidden Object game. The puzzles are pretty easy if you are a 'true' adventure game player, the hardest part is finding the inventory items you need but its not that big a deal. Nice looking static backgrounds with the odd piece of movement and not too much pixel hunting involved.
Like so many of these games my only gripe is that even with two cases to solve its no more than 6 hours of gameplay. If you are used to spending 20-30 hours or more playing an adventure game these things seem like child's play but its a fun way to spend a couple of evenings.
