The first thing I noticed is this game does not let you choose your own mode such as timed or relaxed. Why did they not allow us a choice in the matter? I play the games in relaxed mode so I can enjoy myself.
The graphics also seem a bit more primitive than usual. I can see them fine, but they are not very impressive.
The tasks are the same as the other games as one builds and gathers resources to fulfill a task for a level. There are 50 levels plus ten bonus levels in the CE.
The levels do give enough time early on but things do get a bit challenging. I don't care about not earning stars but I do care if you have to start over. Luckily, this game does let one continue if time runs out.
There are no collectibles to find in the CE and it only has the ten bonus chapters to offer. There is also a strategy guide which some might find useful. The ten bonus levels are also included in the CE but I'm not sure it made this worth the price.
Still, it is a way to pass the time on a cold winter's night.
Lightly recommended for those who collect CEs.
I recommend this game!

There are only 30 levels in this resource collection time management game. The graphics are OK but not great and the time is generous for the most part. There are no levels and you have to start over if you run out of time.
I don't know if it is that way for the other games but I'll give them a try.
I have started on a TM kick and enjoy them for passing the time. Nothing hard in this game which is good or bad depending on if you want a challenge.
Good enough for a coupon or sale.
I recommend this game!

This is the first game released in the popular series and luckily the makers improved on it immensely with their other games.
The objects are hard to find at times but that is what the hint coin is. You can also play in relaxed mode but there are more points when the game is timed. There is less time to complete the HO part as the game progresses (about six minutes toward the end).
The Match version game is one of the hardest out there but there is a way to help. Turn off the time counter (you can turn it on and off as often as you like throughout the game) to allow all the time to do the match puzzle. Then start from the top and don't use the arrows until they are strategically placed.
Even doing the above still means playing a game nearly half a dozen times to get through it. This takes the fun out of the supposedly relaxing game as there is no skip function like the others have. One shouldn't have to cheat the system to enjoy a game.
I did complete all the levels but it took a long time to do so.
I don't recommend this game.

Some players may not get the technical glitches at all and are able to play right through. I am not one of them as the game just won't proceed any further after a certain point.
The game itself is made for children and is a nice diversion for adults out there who are tired of the dark themed games. The HOGs can be a bit dark at times and the mini games are easy.
The graphics are also decent for this type of game. However, the technical glitches seem to be random and that is not good. I got this one as a freebie so I am not too upset about it. However, I still earned those free games by purchasing CEs from Big Fish.
If not for the glitches, this game would get four stars as you can't give three and a half stars.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is more retro than others like it of late. I felt as if I traveled back in time with the cheap looking graphics. There was adventure in it so it isn't a total loss.
We follow a young Russian man as he tries to find and save his girlfriend from a typical mad scientist. We even get the old standard evil laugh a few times.
I got this one as a freebie and mildly enjoyed it. I probably would not be so kind in giving it three stars had I paid for it. It did pass the time and was mildly fun for what it was.
I don't recommend this game.

This game has some glitches in it that make it frustrating for the most part. The hint stops working and the player has to exit the game and return to reboot it.
The game also takes its time getting from room to room as it is constantly loading the rather sub standard rooms.
The game is more HOG than anything and seems like it was made four years ago. Basically, a child is possessed by a demon and it is up to the player to save him.
I got this game as a freebie but I wouldn't recommend paying for it.
I don't recommend this game.

This game would easily get five stars if it was not so maddening. I see I'm not the only one having many issues with it. The main problem is a lot of the mini games have no skip functions and the walk through does not have a good solution. There is a few other parts of the game where the player loses an item that is needed later on. They have to start over and that can be quite upsetting after several hours.
I did like the adventure side of the game even though it was all over the place. The game also allows you to go back to rooms to find all the roses needed to unlock a few quickie bonus games.
The player can also set their own difficulty levels which is nice.
The finale of the bonus game has no skip function while the bad guy keeps on ruining the puzzles. I just wanted to quit several times.
There are also a couple of unneeded love songs in this game. I am so glad there was a skip button for them or I would of quit right away. What the heck are they thinking of putting that stuff in a game?
The five star reviews are many as gamers love this one. But it has many problems which the authors need to fix before I begin a rave on it. I guess they also like those songs as they are a mandatory two star deduction for me.
I don't recommend this game.

This game allows us to be the hero and we have to do all her movements for her. She walks to the destinations we point to and then we get to figure out what she needs done next. Perhaps this is one of those games that some adventure lovers will like.
There are no HOGs and I had to continually stop the game to find a walk through to figure out what to do next. I hated the game because of that. Also, everything has to be done in exact order.
Some will enjoy this as a change of pace, but others won't. I am in the minority here as most of the ratings are raves for the game. Maybe it's because I use my hints and other gadgets all the time.
The player must save the game in order to stay where they are at. Another frustrating thing to dislike about this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Again, this is the CE review and I have to take a few points off of it. I liked playing the game and would give it four out of five stars if this was the SE.
Again, we follow the same detective as she helps a little girl find her parents in an abandoned national park. I do think playing the first one will help, but it isn't totally necessary. This at least concludes the storyline which is a bit better than the first one.
So why the three stars? Again, the bonus game is very short and again takes part in the past. We know what is going to happen and there is no reason to play it. Also, the extras has the HOGs that are programmed to stop after finding the 12 objects instead of cleaning out the room.
So for those thinking about this game because of its very high rating average: Wait for the SE and save some money.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed playing this game in which a detective tracks down a serial killer in a small town. She has no memory at first and we help her find out what happened. The game does repeat HOG locations three times which is a bit too much.
I am teetering on three stars for this game as this is for the CE. I found the bonus game to be too short and was set in the past. We know what is going to happen so there was no surprise element. Also, the HOG games you get to replay don't allow you to play until you find every single object.
So I recommend this as a SE for those interested in it.
I recommend this game!
