I am not essentially what many would regard as an expert in hidden object games. But I’ve played a couple of these adventures and have been fascinated by them ever since I tried Dark Strokes: Sins of Our Fathers.  I loved the storyline of that game and it’s something which I have always followed in every title that I have played since then – the story and the characters.
Legends of the East: The Cobra’s Eye caught my attention because of the reviews that positively commented on these two aspects and after completing both the main game and the bonus game, I am pleased to note that this game has a story which someone should seriously consider making into a movie. :)
Vasco da Gama’s lost ship, a legendary artifact, an ancient lore, winged warriors from other worlds, a flying temple, enormous serpents, vigilantes, a resurrection angle, a redemption sidetrack – the game has managed to add in loads of richness into its layers and it all seamlessly flows in to create the world of Legends of the East: The Cobra’s Eye.
You have these amazing characters who have distinguishing personalities. Catherine is slightly haughty. Yet we love her sense of humour even in the face of clear and present danger. Daniel started off as an irresponsible man (the kind who we are familiar with ;)) obsessed with his own goals, then we discover the more tender side of him and in the bonus adventure we also get see how he steps up to save the woman he loves. I loved the way the developers wound up everything, tying up all the loose strings so that by the time we sit back after completing the game, we feel a sense of closure.
Brownie points to the developers for what comes next! They have this line up of good-looking guys – Daniel and Clive with their disarming charm and Antonio with his dignified demeanour! I also took a liking for Asgar – the temple priest. ;) Oh...they should have shown us Victor’s face! I’m certain that he would have been quite an eyecandy! Loved his voice! :)
The villains are at the top of their game too. Am I the only one who is falling in love with Clive Crowe? :) He looks so much dashing! Looks like I am not the only admirer here. Happened to read the rave reviews for his looks elsewhere. :)
Complaints? I do have some.
The game could use some more polish. Seems like the developers were in a real hurry! :P
The Draugs could have been used a bit more effectively though rather than being just the henchmen. :)
I’d have loved to see what happened to Santiago instead of reading it up in the journal. They could have shown us a swashbuckling sea-battle! But I found myself really keen to know the backstory that I was checking the disc every now and then to see if the scene had any symbols. :P
The Bonus content was a bit less than what I had hoped for. I assume that’s being mentioned in a lot of reviews. Come on developers! Give us something more than the standard Gallery, Music and Bonus Levels.
On another note, I still have Clive gazing at me from my desktop. :)
Verdict: If you are someone who looks for interesting characters, an engaging and rich storyline and loads of gameplay, this game will satisfy you. It is a bit rough around the edges and slightly old-school, but you’ll forgive it all, as you’ll be completely hooked by the rest of the package.
Developers, Give us a sequel! With more bonus content! :)
And next time, can you bring back Clive? You can figure a way to bring him back. Can’t you? ;)
I recommend this game!

I am a huge fan of the first Living Legends game. Probably the biggest fan of them all!
It had the best graphics ever seen in a game! Ever felt like being transported to an all new world? That game did just that for me! Fell in love with everything about it.
And the Collector's Edition was the most value-for-money game on BFG when it released. It had tons of bonus content which kept me returning to it again and again for a week or may be more!
Unfortunately I find myself slightly disappointed in the sequel.
Yes, it does have everything its predecessor had. But nothing new, at least so far.
I so much wish to be wooed by this game. But somehow it doesn't have the charm of the first one.
It still has gorgeous scenes and incredible voiceovers and more bonus content than any game out there. The game is a visual treat.
Don't get me wrong. This is a really good game.
Still...somewhere, I am finding it difficult to fall in love with this one.
May be I should go back to the old one and play it again.
I recommend this game!

After a following up the brilliant House of 1000 Doors with a slightly disappointing sequel, the developers are back with a third installment which more than makes up for the dull second part.
You got my point! I love this game!
I love it so much that I am keeping it in my laptop for some more time.
The storyline is where we should pick ourselves up and pat the writers on their backs for coming up with a plot element which ties up every question that we had on the House of 1000 Doors, especially its origins. Who built this house? How did it get its power to travel back through time?
I won't be spoiling the show anymore. But all that I'd say is it takes you and an invasion of giant serpents to find out the answers.
The cutscenes which have always been the showstars of this developer has once again stolen the limelight. Trust me, for a moment I almost felt like I was at the movies watching a summer blockbuster!
buy buy buy!
You wont regret the decision!

Am I the only one who likes this game? :)
If that's the case, then many are definitely missing out on a lot of good stuff which this game offers.
The art is beautifully done and every scene speaks of the volume of effort that the artists have put into to captivate us.
I loved the characters though they were static. They had an undeniable charm compared to those done in neither-here-nor-there 3d.
It's hard to comprehend as to why so much hatred is being rallied against this game when it comes across as a rather strong entry.
It does lag behind in terms of the movies as most of us are more used to seeing characters which aren't static. But keeping that aside, this is still a compelling game with art and animations that are pleasing on the eye. :)
I recommend this game!
