Wow! That must be one of the longest HOGs I've played in a long time! Great. Seek for collectibles, morphing objects, and puzzle pieces in every scene. Good thing, for all of them the cursor changes so we can focus on the game! It's never, ever, ever cute repeating the same sound or even melody over and over again. I must stress this out, for this game as well. Overall, a good, solid game with perfect duration (its strong point) and some room for improvements.
I think a rating of 3,8/5 is pretty fair. You collect a small ruin in every scene which is so dark that probably you won't spot it. And that's ok. I still haven't figured out why these games have the extra feature of either collecting a morphing item and/or some icon as well. Doesn't add anything in the game play experience really! Another negative: This whole glowing marks all over the body and face of the victims, is a bit ridiculous, no? Apart from that, a very satisfying game with lots to do, explore, discuss and a not so frightening monster!
Well, this devious dwarf got in your way long enough. And justice is served at last. A beautiful game with unique features and strong game play. You collect decorative flames that equal money with which you restore your house in the woods. I only found a bit awkward the back-forth setting of the narration.
Being a fierce queen (or king) wasn't YOUR child fantasy? And this is all I liked in this particular game; the super artwork. Collect, well, statues and symbols, don't know what they are exactly. Not the most enjoyable puzzles. All in all, an unbalanced game.
Wow! In this cartoonish-styled game, you have so much to explore and a really enjoyable gameplay. You collect fragments, morphing silhouettes. The music is a bit off, in the sense that it continues playing a tune while the scenary and mood has changed. All in all, it's a perfect little game with some serious potential!
If you like the cartoonish-feel, then this the game for you! You get to collect fragments, morphing silhouettes and cute creatures. Beautiful ambient music, good game-flow but really-really short game. I mean that was the only -but huge- disappointment. I just checked out the music; its by Olecram Jos (on Spotify!).
For this one, I have one strong positive and one strong negative comment: 1.I'm not sure that those strong, repeated light flashes are good for the eyes... and 2.The cube puzzle where you trace the continuous lines is unique, as is the figurines puzzle with their shadows. Not crazy about the game ending though...
This game got me mixed feelings, although on the negative side. It has potential, but is rough (artwork-wise) and it misses some cohesion and interest flow. One of the silliest things I've ever come across -and in this game it happens more than once, sadly- in an interactive scene, is the one with the repeated target listed -like with the dogs, or dolls at the end. So, you get to collect a specific emblem, but it's so faint, that all in all, I think I have only found 10 in the main game, and maybe 4 in the bonus round. Yes, i know -terrible! One feature that I appreciated though, is the lit jar in the interactive scene, which moves to the appropriate corner so you can find the objects you're looking for, instead of having to drag the thing around, just guessing -which is usually the thing with other games and dark interactive puzzles. And the rolling-down movement is fun. Personally I find a bit childish and without meaning those "decisions" you get to make: should I open the door with caution or confidently? Also, in the bonus round the repeated sounds of the doll-girl up in the attic, are just nerve-racking... And to close it positively: Love the female narration voice (protagonist). I think a fair overall rating will be a 3.7
"Previously in Vermillion Watch..." What a genius idea! Although this title is one of the most flawed one, the concept of having a small story reminding you what happened in all those episodes before, is just brilliant. So many times I've wondered from which point on I continue, in any given game! So many games, so few... brain cells! And that is the only thing I really liked in the game. So, almost every scene contains a star you must collect. The artwork desperately needs and update as always and the first good half of the game is just slow. And exactly because of the mediocre artwork and the overall static feeling, I find myself having difficulty playing the game effortlessly and with anticipation. Every time so! There are big margins of improvement, team!
