This game made me jump from fear a few times. There is a mini-game where you'll drown if you don't finish the puzzle in time, I drowned and got eaten by a dangerous door as well.
Best game I've played in a long time. The story line pulled me in and had me actively trying to figure out what was causing the town to sleep. The scare factor lessened as the game continued, but the intensity never did let up.
It has a walk through that I only had to use once to figure out how to defeat the demon at the end. The hint button was enough to steer me in the right direction when I had no idea what to do next.
I recommend this game!

This was the first game I purchased on my iPad gen 1. Was hooked and quickly bought the second game for the iPad, the third was bought for my lap top.
Cool continuing story, lovely graphics, and fun and unusual games not found to often in other games. The first game the main character, Anna, is confused as to what is going on, with the second she is more aware, and by the third she is fully in command and is sure footed as to her goal. I've played several series of games, and this is the first progression of a character I've encountered.
Are the mini puzzles brain busting difficult? No, they aren't, not by any long shot, but they do hold the interest, there were only two I had to skip. I cant ever manage to do the "flip the tiles all over" or the "click all of the tiles on" games, no idea why, just totally beyond me. Only one of those hateful puzzles. There were many match the bits of picture to the area on the picture puzzles. And while there is always at least one tricky, look for a bit circles, they aren't to hard.
The voice overs are fairly well done, which is a blessing. The items in the hidden puzzles are named correctly. None of this nonsense of calling a tool by the wrong name, or really obscure item names.
I've played this series of games at least 10 times, and find them enjoyable each time.
I recommend this game!

I downloaded this game due to getting to play two players in one game. Thought this seemed like a very original idea. I liked switching between players, however you play much less time as the vampire, and much more as the girl.
The puzzles were tricky but not so much that I had to take a powder and skip them. Most of them were easily figured out with a bit of thought. Not so much of the flip all these one way sorta things, which for some odd reason I have no ability to do.
Like many games, it came to an abrupt ending, I really thought there was more game to be played. The bonus chapter was fun, and in some respects better than the actual game. I loved the ending of the bonus, one gets to choose ones own ending.
There is stuff to retrieve that has nothing to do with the game. One set allows you to change the graphics surrounding the inventory, and the characters pictures. The other restores an old castle. Neither one of which I thought added anything to the game.
I recommend this game!

I like that this game is quite straight forward, not so much darting about hither and yon to grab one silly piece. Each room/area has quite a bit to discover, so going slow can be a help in this game.
Its a visually appealing game, and I have to admit there are times where i just enjoy the beautiful art work for a while upon entering a new area, before going about my appointed task. The background music is enough to highlight the mood of the area you are in, without it overwhelming the game play.
There isnt much in the way of HOP's, and more mini games, but thats ok. I like that the mini games are on the easier side. There are many times I'm just not up to the mental challenge, but want to relax my mind from a stressful day, and all three of the Empress of the Deep are fun without being stressful.
My only complaint at all with the game is that the hints are quite often vague and only helpful occasionally. The map I find is a bit more helpful as to where you need to go next.
I recommend this game!

Wow! This game is the best BFG, ever. The story is interesting, but the artwork, mini games and HOG's are fresh and extremely fun to play. One of my favorite things about this game is they dont repeat any of the mini games, and many of them are completely different from anything I've played before.
Also the inclusion of "red herrings" really made this game fun. I wont go into details, as I dont want to ruin your enjoyment of the game.
The voice overs were well done, none of them were grating or needed to be muted so as to not toss the computer across the room in disgust and anger every time characters spoke.
I play on a macbook with a touchpad and there was one game that gave me acres of issues, and finally gave it up and hit skip.
Take nothing for granted as this game doesn't fall into the same ol' patterns of play.
This is one of the few that I will be replaying due to the fun mini games and the humor of it.
I recommend this game!
