Carlos Montez was searching for an important object at the gloomy town of Hackamore Bluff when he suddenly went missing. As his wife Jenny, you immediately traveled to Hackamore Bluff in search for your missing husband. But with the townspeople being so mysterious and unwelcome toward you, can you navigate your way and solve this mystery in this newest Rite of Passage sequel?
Lately, the Rite of Passage series seems to have lost its style a little bit. It used to be this oddball of a fantasy series, but with the last few installments, it turned out to be yet another dark fantasy cliché. Regardless, that does not discount the fact that Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff is an improvement regarding previous editions in the series and is brilliantly executed. The storyline is not the most original, but the suspenseful vibe of the atmosphere, the characters, and the town itself is engaging enough to pull you right in. Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff has the basic features that are expected from fans in a premium HOPA like this one. It also has a special mechanical device, the Talisman, which is occasionally used to progress the game and prompts a lite and fun mini-game every time you need to use it. Apart from that, the game is likely to come off as predictable to most fans of the series. Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff does strike a nice balance between the hidden object scenes and the puzzles. However, the majority of them are quite standard and do not offer much challenge or showcase the kind of creativity earlier editions offered. The visuals are decent and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them, but they are not up Mad Head Games’ standard of excellence. The location designs could have been more imaginative and more visual details could have been added. Still, Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff is a beautifully designed game and it certainly looks great enough to propel the game forward and keep you engaged. The voice-overs are definitely spot on and realistic . On the audio side, the subdued, but creepy soundtracks are executed with a lot a variation which is important to gamers like me. Repetitive music and soundtracks are always a distraction during gameplay in my opinion. Despite falling short of breaking any new grounds, Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff is still an entertaining game through and through. I recommend the SE version in lieu of the CE version. Cheers!
Also in this series: •Rite of Passage: The Perfect Show •Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest •Rite of Passage: Hide and Seek •Rite of Passage: The Lost Tides •Rite of Passage: Heart of the Storm •Rite of Passage: Deck of Fates •Rite of Passage: The Sword and the Fury •Rite of Passage: Hackamore Bluff
In this sixth edition of the League of Light fans who are familiar with the series may be surprised by "The Game" and acknowledge the connection between this sequel and the previous editions, which is certainly not a bad thing considering the series’ four star track record. As the leading Detective and member of the League of Light your journey continues as you investigate a villainous organization known as "The Watchers". Every fifty years the Watchers create a deadly game where their can only be one survivor. A game that requires you to make difficult decisions among the other characters and will test your skills and abilities beyond belief! Will you save yourself or join forces with Julia (aka Fox) who's life is also in peril? Your goal is to ultimately discover the "Watchers" evil agenda and put a stop to this chaos once and for all! This was a "must buy" for me and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of gameplay in this newest edition of Mariaglorum's League of Light series. If you are a beginner or new to the series, this is a great introductory installment (even though this one may not be my personal favorite). I finished the main game in about five hours, and the bonus chapter in an hour. I recommend the game for players of every level and check out these earlier releases too. Cheers!
Also in this Series... •League Of Light: Dark Omens •League of Light: Wicked Harvest •League of Light: Silent Mountain •League of Light: The Gatherer •League of Light: Edge of Justice •League of Light: The Game
Rick is stopped in the middle of the road by a young woman looking to go to her lover’s mansion, the Bennett Mansion. Help him navigate through this haunting tale in Paranormal Files: Fellow Traveler, a brand-new series from Elephant Games!!!
THE STORY OF ROSE BENNET AND HER SON NICOLAS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT EDITION OF THIS EPIC MYSTERY SERIES...
Welcome to the mysterious Parisian Underworld of Paris. You have just arrived to see Madame Beatrice La Brun perform with illusionist Charles the great, but things go south rather swiftly when Beatrice is kidnapped and fire breaks out in the theater. The assailant who grabs Beatrice appears to be an imposter who looks exactly like Sir Charles...could there be more than one illusionist? Does Charles really have a twin brother? Join forces with Beatrice's little brother Arthur and embark on an investigative journey that leads you beneath the grand Parisian theater into the seedy underground passages of 1895 Paris and find out! I was surprised by how intricate this story was and also by the underlying plot even though I have played numerous games with a similar storyline. This release is different though because of it's connection to the Grimoire. The Grimoire is a textbook of magic, typically including instructions on how to create magical objects like talisman and amulets, how to perform magical spells or charms, and how to summon supernatural entities. It's no secret that Artifex Mundi's Grimoire theme is what captivates their fans and has been a huge factor in making them popular in the HOPA industry. This release could have easily been a great CE if developers had increased the budget for better graphics, production, and CE bling. However, for a SE game it really does raise the bar compared to other similar releases. I really loved this adventure and the 5 casual hours I spent playing. I also love these developers and if your looking for lengthy mystery adventure it's worth using a free game coupon too. Cheers!
This is one intriguing murder mystery you don't want to miss! In Eipix's new series Memoirs of Murder you begin by selecting your role as either Mary Fletcher or Aaron Fletcher, though it doesn't change the storyline which ever spouse you choose. Mary and Aaron Fletcher moved from the city to pursue a more relaxed way of life on Maple street in the small town of Hidden Pines. A town where everyone knows one another including small town gossip. The Fletcher's arrive and find a note left from the last tenants which reads: "take what furniture's left; we don't want anything related to this place"! (Suspicion #1). While unpacking, they receive an invitation to the annual town party from Mayor William Greenwald and his wife Dorothy Greenwald (who live across the street in a huge manor). One spouse begins looking for a bottle of champagne while the other heads across the street to greet the Greenwald's and attend the party. William Greenwald greets you when you arrive and asks you to sign the guestbook. You observe everyone who has been invited to this mustache theme soiree which include: •Mayor Greenwald •Dorothy Greenwald •Marvin Greenwald (William's brother) •Betty Parker (Diva of the silver screen) •The Family Attorney •Mildred the Housekeeper •Peter Jones (Employee of Greenwald Inc. who works on pier) After you sign the guestbook Mildred approaches you and asks if you would take Dorothy Greenwald's dinner up to her room. Dorothy has been confined to her bed with terrible headache's since her car accident some months ago. You somewhat reluctantly agree and take Dorothy her dinner. Upon meeting Dorothy (who is surprised by your presence)you hand her the dinner tray and begin talking. Dorothy remarks, "Welcome to the neighborhood, it's nice to finally meet you" ! Then she begins to eat the dinner....suddenly she shouts, "I ONLY TRUST MILDRED, DON"T TRUST ANYONE" ! Then she falls to the floor dead; she's been poisoned. You rush to the floor to inspect Dorothy's condition and find ash on her sleeve from the fireplace in her room. (Suspicion #2) You also find a secret box she had been holding (contents unknown). Stricken with panic by what you've just witnessed you head to the fireplace and see a small niche' behind a brick. You quickly stash the secret box behind the brick just in the nick of time and in walks Mildred... Mildred immediately accuses you of murdering Dorothy, the police arrest you and take you to the police station for questioning. It's now up to your spouse Aaron or Mary to discover who really murdered Dorothy Greenwald and the incredibly circumstances surrounding this fascinating mystery! Find out what happens next in this exciting new series; it will blow your mind! The development team at Eipix did an outstanding job with this new endeavor. This game is NOTHING like any of their previous series, not even DEAD RECKONING and Eipix was long overdue in introducing a new and original series! Eipix fans may appreciate all of the new and improved style and format of this new series. If you are bored with the numerous editions of various Eipix games series then you definitely have something to look forward to with this five star release. Cheers!
This is the 3rd installment of Madhead's series Dawn Of Hope. The Frozen Soul is a Sci-Fi action game which utilizes certain aspects of previous editions to create a new and unique post apocalyptic adventure! Your journey begins in the Sprite village, home to both humans and elves living together in harmony. You play the role of Tara, a brave survivor of a ruined world and apprentice to Mr. Hett; a teacher and elder of the Sprite community. Hett tells Tara the fascinating historical story of an organization called "The Society". Agents of the Society rule from the skies with their supernatural ability to control lightning and use it to reek havoc on the citizens of Sprite, a tactic used centuries ago in ancient times which caused the apocalypse. During those ancient times The Elves of old arrived in a beam of light and used their fae spells to restore life to the land. Trees re-grew and rivers flowed once again. The Agents of Society came and used their power and technology of the ancients to defeat the Elven leaders. They locked away all traces of the Elves of old in Mount Nucleus. Tara must now make her way with her Elven friend Lennart to Mount Nucleus for help. With some assistance from Lennart using his elven healing powers and a device that has the ability to melt and freeze inventory items your ready for the quest... or are you? When both of you arrive at Mount Nucleus you encounter a sinister Elven Queen. Her name is Alyssandra and she is out for VENGENCE! Fate ultimately lies in the hands of Tara and Lennart but the help they seek at Mount Nucleus will be a dexterous task with the discovery of Alyssandra....
I have always loved this series and I can't wait to find out what arduous tasks the rest of the adventure has to offer. The story is engaging, the graphics and special effects are beautifully executed and it has the potential of being a rather lengthy HOPA. I remember playing Dawn of Hope: Daughter of Thunder where one of the main character's special abilities was using electricity to control lightning! I hope this edition is just as electrifying. Cheers!
I also recommend the previous installments: •Dawn of Hope: Daughter of Thunder •Dawn of Hope: Skyline Adventure
This is a great come back for the 10th edition of Redemption Cemetery after the 9th game, "Redemption Cemetery: Night Terrors" released in February of 2017 was heavily criticized. That CE version ended up with a 3 star rating, but this edition seems to have received some, "How shall I put it?" Redemption? (LOL). ERS and their developers once again brain-bend the minds of casual gamers with their unique horror series that raises the bar for fans of this cult classic series! You'll want to rush to save the three (3) souls encased in pillars of stone because you only have until dawn, but take your time with this 4 hour adventure and enjoy it. Only the light of souls can dispel the darkness in the cemetery and keep hope alive during the night. One with a "pure soul" can locate the light of souls and illuminate their path from the evil Kyrkogrimm's devious plan. Upon meeting Astrid who is trapped inside the church of the cemetery, she tasks you with locating crystals to activate the souls of three cursed individuals. Placing the crystals in Astrid's altar activates a portal for each of the souls where you travel back in time to save them. Time travel portal is a recurring theme in all Redemption Cemetery editions. Pay close attention to Astrid; she holds a fascinating secret about Kykogrimm that you'll only discover by playing the adventure in it's entirety. Like the sign reads upon entering the cemetery, "Only once, only in light a mortal comes to the cemetery or darkness will TAKE THEM!" Fans will also really enjoy the bonus game where you must save your brother David or else he loses his soul. Exceptional production values, phenomenal sound effects, and tripped out hallucinogenic special effects await you. No one does horror like ERS. They really know how to set the industry standards for this genre. Kudo's to Big Fish and ERS for their outstanding games! Redemption Cemetery started as an interesting concept from Nate Webb, former Senior Director of Developer Relations at Big Fish. Isaias Vallejo was the Producer and he wrote up a concept proposal outlining the details of how the game would look and feel. Check out these editions and play all of them.....

The Secret Order is undoubtedly a Fan Favorite and the fact that "Shadow Breach" is the 8th addition to the series is proof. In the last episode (Bloodline) Sarah Pennington had just defeated the Dragon Clan for the Flower of Life and saved her mother. Now in her new home she receives a distress call from Alex (also a member of the Secret Order) who informs her of an ancient almanac currently in the hands of Maggie Cook. Maggie's research at the Secret Order lab has revealed the history of the almanac and the purpose for it's creation. The almanac was used to magically encapsulate a villainous entity named Odessa who is full of wrath and capable of possessing a human body if she is released. Alex warns Sarah that should Odessa ever break free from the almanac (which she does) it would unleash chaos and destruction not only for The Secret Order but all of humanity. Sarah, now armed with a bracelet of fire must locate 7 magical relics that were originally used against Odessa and destroy them. It's a race against the clock to see if Sarah can accomplish this task before Odessa does and save Maggie...Will Sarah defeat Odessa in time? You'll have to complete the (4 hour) main game and the (1 hour) bonus game to find out.
This edition has a great storyline but the use of the "Bracelet of Fire" isn't an original concept. The production value is less than impressive with the over use of cool tones though colorful as you progress into the second half of the adventure. Shadow Breach isn't my favorite game in the series but it does have it's moments. The HOP's are great because they are interactive. I hope the next edition is executed with a higher production standard and more challenging puzzles. I will always love this series but I recommend that you demo this one before purchasing. Cheers!
I remember the original Haunted Manor games. Haunted Manor "Lord of Mirrors" Haunted Manor "Queen of Death" and Haunted Manor "Painted Beauties" created by other developers. I appreciate the fact that Eipix wanted to revive the series but they could have created a Mystery adventure with a theme relative to these exceptional classics under a different game title. I just wasn't thrilled by this latest release. Demo this Haunted Manor installment prior to purchase to see if it meets your expectations. Cheers!
I thought this edition of Rite of Passage was predictable and offered very little challenge during gameplay. This edition is a vast improvement over the previous edition, The Sword and the Fury but I was disappointed in Hackamore Bluff. I recommend the SE version when it is released. Cheers!
