It's hard not to love this game at first sight when it greets you with such a gorgeous scene. It has 3 game modes relaxed, timed and moves limited of which my favorite is time limited. I love making lots of matches, fast, and this game stays true to its predecessors in that levels are huge and matches plentiful. The difficulty is fine, I found myself trading lives every now and then but every seasoned m3 player should manage getting to the end without being driven up the wall or bored.
Finally tutorials can be turned off at the start of the game, the story may be skipped by pressing esc and one can focus on the gameplay. It comes with a full walk-through and strategy guide. Some people complained about the music but I personally loved it.
This is, hands down, one of the best match 3 games the pond has ever seen. The only downside is that it makes you dig deeper in your pocket but at the length it provides I'd say it's worth the extra buck.
Spring in japan is a cute game with cute graphics, although a bit low definition for my liking. It's charm lies in the small boards and varied objectives. Collect paint brushes do draw kanji, keys to open chests containing keepsakes, shears to cut grass etc. Music is relaxing but gets a bit repetitive after a while. I felt pretty serene while playing and enjoyed the experience quite a bit. It has its frustrating moments, when you run out of moves and the game lets you know after some good seconds of searching for non existent matches, but if you pay careful attention to your matches you should be able to avoid that. There are plenty of cute minigames that keep you entertained between levels and spice up the whole experience.
I enjoyed the interesting powerup system, just click on various items on the board to collect them. When you have enough, the powerup is ready.
There is a little story, it comes in sparse bits and pieces and leaves you wanting more of it.
If you want relax and spend some time in the meditation zone, give it a try.
The latest installment in the JM series stays true to it's predecessors, it has big entertaining boards with lots of interactive elements, powerups and beautiful scenes to build. In addition to that, you can now buy bats, ghosts, witches and other scary things to haunt the sets. All levels have an added bonus room which unlocks if the rest is completed. There you can collect extra resources and golden stars that are used as currency for set decorations. As you progress and get higher and higher score you will unlock different minigames like race levels and hidden object scenes. The game is halloween themed but it can be enjoyed along with your children as there is no blood or gore. JMT will keep you busy for a long time. Definitely try this game!
I recommend this game!

The first thing you notice when you start this game is the menu that seems a bit clanky but after a little while I got used to it. Everything is flashy and colorful.
The overall goal of the game consists of building a city. Each level you collect various types of resources and unlock game milestones that allow you to build various city elements. The board goals are not very visible, the green tiles you must break are not standing out compared to normal board tiles, nor is there an effect to highlight them when you have just a few left. The game can be played in relaxed, normal and hard mode, but no matter which you choose, the levels feel too tight and you will run out of matches, at which point the game will shuffle the board. Hunting the only match left on the board is not my cup of tea. The levels are not hard, because you have plenty of time but they are just boring since certain board areas are really hard to make matches on and it will take you several minutes to clear a single tile.
There are the usual powerups that appear if you make matches of 4 or more pieces and some powerups that charge if you collect certain types of pieces.
What I liked about the game is the fact that it will give you a different bonus based on your performance, the goal being to win all levels with a golden star. After each level you also get to try your luck on picking your extra bonus by selecting one of the 5 available surprise scrolls.
Every now and then you will have to complete a jigsaw puzzle to break a little bit the rhythm of match making, which I find enjoyable.
Overall this game has some potential but I'll say pass since match hunting is not my thing.
