I love the Edgar Allan Poe HO games. This was a good game as far as story and interesting things to do, however, the following cons made the game very aggravating:
No map. I got lost many times trying to get to where I needed to go.
Strategy Guide would not keep my place. Having to go back through a bunch of pages to get back to where I stopped off was very aggravating.
NO Hint except for HO games was aggravating.
A lot of the HO objects were pure darkness and there was no way to find them with the naked eye.
Hint and Skip were slow to refill.
Right now I am stuck trying to get a gear out of a fish bowl with a magnet. The magnet will not catch onto the gear. So very aggravating especially when I am so near the end of the game. Will I get to finish the game? It looks doubtful.

I got stuck trying to spin circles and find the images that were located at the bottom of the puzzle. I couldn't figure out the method. Not only was this bad on my eyes, but it was no fun, and it couldn't be skipped. I can't continue the game because of this boring puzzle. I do not recommend this game.

This was an enjoyable pirate game. However, this game desperately needed a map that would take you to the location quickly. Instead it was necessary to click, click, click to get to a location. I had to rely on the Hint button. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this fun game.

I almost didn't even play the demo because of the previous reviews, but I did, and I was hooked from the beginning. I really enjoyed the game. There were some puzzles that I didn't like so I skipped them. The skip and hint buttons were pretty fast to reload. I enjoyed the storyline and the graphics. I really liked that the game had a map; that is always a huge factor for me in a game. I recommend this game highly.
I recommend this game!

I quit playing the demo when it got to a game where pieces of pictures had to be placed to complete the pictures, and the pieces kept jumping away, even though I had each one placed precisely in the correct position. Too much time spent on that. I don't plan to buy this game for that reason.

This was a good game except for the following:
This game needed a map very badly.
The Hint was way too slow to recharge. There were a lot of HOs that were unfindable, and the slow hint made it boring.
I did not care for the puzzles, but at least the Skip button recharged quickly.
The scenery was drab and boring.
Too much running around back and forth just to do one thing.
Barring the above aggravations, the game was enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

Great game except that the map needed to take you from one location to the other. Map was not much use to me. The Hint and Skip were too slow in charging. I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to get to places, and I got stuck a bunch of times. I had to use the Walkthrough a LOT and had to contact the forum once. But I have to say, this is a game that gives your money's worth, because it is not one you can just sit down and finish in a short while. So I would have to recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

The Edgar Allan Poe games are some of my very favorites. However, this game really tried my patience. I was wishing I had gotten the CE because I had to log out many times and check a walkthrough. Not having a Hint except for HO games made it a little difficult. I backtracked so many times. A map would have helped also. Some of the puzzles were just not fun for me so I skipped those. The Skip button and the Hint button were very slow to recharge. There were some minor setbacks; I had to uninstall and reinstall once, and I had some of the same difficulties as others as stated in the forum. But in spite of all the aggravation, I enjoyed this game. The story was good; it had a happy ending, and the scenery was very good. Looking forward to more Edgar Allan Poe games.

This game was absolutely delightful !!!!! I loved the music, the scenery, the cute animals and bugs, and other creatures. I also loved that it was not about witches and vampires, etc. I highly recommend this game! Also, it had a good ending.
I recommend this game!

This game was very aggravating. It was more of a puzzle game than a HO game. The storyline was good and the graphics were good. There were a good many puzzles that I liked, but there were a lot that I didn't want to try to figure out. The Hint and the Skip were very slow to recharge. Also, a very aggravating thing was that if I clicked too many times trying to find an item, there was a spinning around. I HATE THAT and never could figure out why they made games to do that. Thank goodness there have only been a few that I played that were like that. I did not like the Strategy Guide. I've never played a game where I had to go to the Menu to access the Guide. It was not even worth paying for a CE game. If I had not paid money for this game, I would not have finished it.
I don't recommend this game.
