this game, just like the others is a bit like marmite, if your unaware of what marmite is you won't understand this review, but for those that do, you'll either love it, or you'll hate it. this game to be honest has no middle ground, you can't just tolerate the endless tiresome " pick this up " " pick that up " " click this " " click that " but if you can look beyond that, which i have been able to do, you'll find this game is amazing, with it's simple, but fun facts, if you've played the other games you don't need to learn the game, it's exactly the same. ( just with a prison instead of another monument )
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this game, to begin with i was a bit reluctant to carry on as i read in the dialog that if you didn't balanace the house build with proportion to also upgrading your cake shop the customers would become more impatient. however this is quickly overlooked, and i went back to it and finished the game.
the two games in one comes from the balance between managing your happiness with the house build and the upgrades within the shop.
the only drawback is it's short those of you who are comfortable with time management will find this game easy, im not an expert with time management and i still managed to complete the game within 52 game days. which is a bit of a let down as i wished the game was longer. i will definately buy two and three now i know that this game is super fun and although easy it is relaxing.
This is my first game, where it turns out it's just been one big hour of a demo version..... for this reason i have decided not to buy this game, just in case.
overall for what i played 59 minutes of it, it was a good game, little bit harder then what im used to but still managed to meet my goal, and progress. so i saw a little bit of what was on offer, and i did like it. the style, the feel, and the graphics all blended nicely. and im sure had it been the full version it would of been a lot better.
my only disappointment with this game is so small, that it still warrants 5 stars, and that's when you upgrade your hq i would of liked it to of remained throughout the levels, so that by the end of the game you end up with a big empire instead of having to upgrade it time and again.
im talking about something similar to the first be rich/richer/richest game, im yet to play be richest, but i hope it's as fun.
game is rigged, but you can rig it to your advantage.

let me start by saying that for the most part of this game you will end up loosing more hands then not if you play fairly and by the rules, this is because the game is rigged, it's supposedly done on a random card selection but somewhere along the line the randomness got muddled in what could of been a good game.
this is a great game if you learn how to rig the game in your favor, start by playing small, lets say 20 dollars, then when someone folds or maybe 2-3 fold, put ALL your money in, mostly all of the remaining players will fold and you've won the game..... this is the best way to 95% of the time win. i just wish you could play normally and stand a good and high chance of winning. sadly it's not the case.

the main issues for me with this game is that the levels are way too short, you get 4 levels per film, and 4 hidden object scenes per film. the filming side of it consists of, script, make up, and filming. whilst the hidden object scenes are slightly better, where you may or may not have a puzzle involved with finding the objects, ie you might need to get a certain object before you can access the next item.
this game would be better had there been more levels and had it been more inventive. the graphics weren't bad in the hidden object scenes and i found them bright and colorful, and fit each film well.
i can't really fault this game, however if i had to choose something i didn't like it would have to be the fact that you cannot, i repeat cannot leave the collection of the customers tips till the very end of the level otherwise it will fail you, i was under the impression that it could be collected automatically and after getting 15 happy customers in the filter it failed me because i failed to get enough tips. although i probably would of past had the game collected them for me at the end like most games do. i know this is lazy, however it is still handy to have included. sadly this time it wasn't.
this game hit me straight away with cute graphics, and an ever better first cut scene, instead of the story being just images it actually moves, which makes me feel that if the producers of the game could create such a wow factor, why couldn't they add in some form of voice actor? to make the first few opening seconds a 5 star wow factor.
the game to some small extent allows you to converse with the characters, and this i feel will give the game much more of a cute, and unique feel.
you get to upgrade your garden in the same way as you would upgrade in gardenscapes and similar games, but each upgrade gives you something extra. there is also a xp bar which if you fill you can upgrade yourself, and later in the game your help in form of a cute dragon hatchling, there are also quests which you can choose to fill ( you don't have to but they also give you something extra )
