I have this game on my phone. It's so much fun. Even though it may look like a childs cartoon, it isn't a childs game. It starts out easy so you can get a feel for the game mechanics then gets a lot more difficult as you progress. He walks at a good pace so you have time to figure out what you need to do to keep him from falling or hitting a wall, but you can also speed up time so you don't have to wait for him to amble along if you don't want to. There is a 3 star rating for each level depending on how fast you completed it, if you got all the stars & if you didn't run into anything or fall. I liked going through all the levels and trying to get 3 stars on every level. You get a trophy if you do. There are quite a few levels per location, so it isn't a really short game. Took me a few days to beat them all and get all 3 stars in most. I don't usually go for these kinds of games but this one is so well made & entertaining that I got over my prejudice. I highly recommend this game. Just give it a chance & I'm sure you'll at least like it, if not love it.
I don't know why this game isn't more popular. It is an amazing game. I'v never played anything like it. It's so unique! You get to pick what you want to do between scenes. I'm not sure if it makes the outcome any different, but its still cool. There's a moderate number of HO scenes, which I normally wouldn't like because I get sick of them, but this game is so well done it doesn't bother me at all. It's not super long but not short either, I'v been playing it for almost 4 hours now and I'm not quite done. This game needs a lot more people to try it. I guarantee most will love it. Especially Adventure lovers. The story is very unique as well. Graphics are great. This whole game rocks!
Except for the fact that when you talk to someone, they talk for a LONG time and it isn't skipable at all. To add to that you HAVE to talk to the person or you cannot progress in the game. That drove me nuts. I wanted to get a good idea of what the game play was like before the trial ended, but couldn't because all I could do was sit there and wait for the lady to stop talking. Then the trial was over. So I got absolutely NOWHERE in the game during the demo. If the entire game is like that then it's not for me. They should categorize it as an Interactive Book. So whoever likes games with lots of dialog and story telling might like this game. It's one of those games that has entire worlds that you can walk around in, rather than having to load each room when you enter it. It very well could be a good game after all the mandatory dialog but I'm not patient enough for that. So I will recommend it for some people.
Review based on trial. This game is really well done. I was expecting something that was kinda lacking in content and filled with HO scenes to make up for it. Turns out it has substance and the puzzles are fun and not too hard or too easy. The HO scenes have some space inbetween them so you don't get sick of them & they are really challenging. I don't know why, I just know it took me quite awhile to find everything. They are slightly interactive. The story is our typical "creepy mansion inheritance" story but I don't feel like I'v played this one before so its not boring. The atmosphere is kinda creepy. What I like most is that I started feeling like I was actually going through this myself. For me, atmosphere is everything in a game. You can adjust the ambient background sounds, music, sound effects and overall volume. I like to turn up the background sounds, so I can hear crickets or floorboards creaking, it adds to the creepiness. I I'm going to buy it right now. I'm actually excited. :)
I keep coming back to this game and wanting to like it. It looks like a good story and the graphics are very pretty. I like the setting and the atmosphere it brings. I REALLY wanted to like it. But....there are FAR too many HO, one after another, every time you finish one and move to the next room, there's another HO scene to do. AND any time you have to go back to a previous room to pick something up or do a puzzle, the HO scene in that room, that you've already done, is active again. Yes there are different objects to search for, but when I have to stop what I'm doing every 3 mins I forget what it was I was supposed to be doing and what the story was about in the first place. I like doing HO scenes, just not in every single room. Someone who likes doing HOs that frequently will really like this game. That's why I do recommend this game. I bet it's really good if you can stay focused through all the HO interruptions.
This game was spectacular! I was able to get the CE due to the credit sale, & I never get to get the CEs, but this time I did and I'm so happy. I played this game straight through. The main game took me about 4.5 hours and the bonus chapter about 1 hour. It's more Adventure than HOG and that made all the difference. The graphics are beautiful and the story is great, kept me interested the whole time. The game play doesn't get confusing and you don't have to run back and forth all the time to opposite sides of the map. The puzzles were fun and do-able. A few were really challenging but most were just hard enough to take some time & thought, but when you finally figure it out, you feel like a genius! The HOs were always different & they didn't overwhelm the game. I loved collecting the fairies in each scene, it's just a little extra fun, but it adds something to the game that makes it feel full. I suggest playing the first game in the series before this one, it makes the story all that much more enjoyable, and when they come out with the next one it'll be even more wonderful to know whats going on. There was only one thing I didn't like about this game & that was the end of the Bonus level. At the end of the main game I felt like I had an ending, but the end of the Bonus level made me feel like I got cut off in the middle. I know It's a "To Be Continued..." but that was a really abrupt ending. (this might be a spoiler) The whole time your trying to get this guy to talk to you and when u finally get him to, you don't really get to be there for the talk. The game just ends when the conversation starts.(end of possible spoiler) It's an awesome journey though and I'm impatiently looking forward to the next installment. I'm thinking there should be at least 2 more games in this series, to get to winter, and I hope they can figure out a way to make more than that. Add to the story after that somehow. Games of this quality are hard to come by. Make more of this quality & style and I will buy every one of them.
I had been waiting for this one after the CE came out. I'm a big fan of the Surface series. Mystery of Another World CE was the first BF game I ever bought. actually it was the only CE I'v ever been able to afford, with the "New Customer" discount, lol. This, the 3rd game in the series, is just as good as the first two. The puzzles are new and surprising, They had some really great ideas for those puzzles. The best puzzles I'v ever played in a game. I didn't have to skip any and some of them took some tricky thinking. One in particular that wasn't really challenging but very fun was the labyrinth puzzle. That was neat. The HO scenes were few and interactive. I don't like too many HOs in a game so that's a big plus for me. The story kept my interest and it lasted for quite awhile. Took me 6 hours. The voice overs were well acted and skip-able. I don't think that it should get negative reviews for not having the lips sync to the words since its originally in a different language. They shouldn't be expected to film 2 versions of the actors speaking in both languages. I also don't know how people can guess the length of a game based on its demo. They don't always have the same percentage of the game in each demo. I feel bad that some people are missing out on a great game based on a guess. I'm so happy with this series. I think I'll go back and play the first again. I HIGHLY recommend!
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
I got this game, even though I'm not a big fan of the futuristic type games, based solely on the fantastic reviews it has gotten. And I wasn't disappointed. It was a lot of fun. the puzzles were fun and the game wasn't bogged down with too many HOGs. I liked the story and the graphics. The only thing that was sort of negative was that it felt kinda short. It probably wasn't any shorter than the other games of normal length, but I actually used the map to jump from area to area on this one and I think that made it go a lot faster. If you want it to last as long as possible, and you can remember how to get around a very twisty turny ship without getting lost, I suggest you don't use the map to jump.
It was just one HO scene after another. I couldn't even remember what the story was about after the 8th one in 20 mins. I like games with more adventure and puzzle solving aspects. If it weren't for the loads of HOs I think I'd really like this game. The atmosphere (which can make or break a game for me) is really good. Just the right amount of eerie and the graphics are perfect for the atmosphere of the game. I really wish I was able to like this game. Anyone who is a fan of LOTS of hidden objects could really like this game. So that's why I DO recommend it.
I like the feel of this game. The graphics are pretty and the story is interesting. I'm buying it right now but wanted to review it ASAP to get some feedback out there on this game. I can't give the most in depth review since I haven't finished it yet. But I have faith that this is going to be a really good game. The atmosphere is just right. My favorite. Dark but not gloomy. Thirty minutes into the demo I decided I wanted it. I really like the style of puzzles and the fact that I'm not bombarded by HO scenes.
