If you played the three Laxius Power games and the first Laxius Force ones, you won't be phased by the gameplay and by the background of this huge and quite entertaining RPG. Playing as Random, Sarah and so on is as funny as usual, and the game is long enough to satisfy you during several dozens of hours of quests, fights and land exploration! Definitely worth the try!
Since I'm a HUGE fan of stories introducing animal characters (The Chronicles of Narnia, etc.), I particularly enjoyed this game's scenario, where pets have to save the world from a dreadful alien invasion! Geez! :)
The gameplay is the one of a classical side-viewed turn-based old 2D RPG, like the old SNES FF, with many quests to do and a non-linear style of exploration, so it's all OK for me.
To sum up, I would say Sylia is in Aldorlea's panel of productions, the kind of "refreshing" and entertaining games you will like to play between two parties of deeper and bigger acts like the Laxius Saga or Asguaard.
Yet the plot of characters visiting dreams has been delt with so many times, the fact of adapting it into a RPG-styled game is more uncommon. The time you will spend on it will be fairly high, as the quests and the different places to explore are quite vast, and as you can rapidly feel sympathy for the lovely characters, playable or not. The music is also as fantastic as involving for the player. A game which is globally truly worth the try if you expect something a little bit different as what is usually offered in 2D-RPG experience!
Probably one of the best 2D RPG game series ever made by an Indie studio.

As a follower of the Laxius saga from the very beginning (I have been a player of the first three free games made on RPG Maker 2000), I've been quite pleased with the three new opuses, especially this one, who prolongs on a new epic way what gave all the fun to the saga in the past: non-linearity, a wide world to explore and some fierce dungeons and bosses to deal with. The characters are still pleasant to play with and the story follows its paths as surely as usual. One of my absolute references in this style of RPGs. You MUST give it a try! o/
I strongly recommend the game for those who are used to deal with old-school front-viewed-fighting 2D RPG like Dragon Quest or Phantasy Star. The storyline is entertaining yet classical, and the characters are as strong-minded as funny. Particular greetings to the artworkers' job, it's quite impressive. Definitely worth the try!
