I've just finished playing the complete Cadenza: Music, Betrayal and Death. With an original script, smooth flowing search routes, and ingenious puzzles, I was enthralled. I have just started with the HOP games that are not "all" HOP all the time and this has been the best of the lot so far. It was a beautiful experience.
I recommend this game!

So, moving along to the last area of the game, I've been doing very well. Then BAM! Instant difficulty level of IMPOSSIBLE. Wish i could get my money back since the game is very deceptive about game play and what to expect.
Here's some important pointers. Write down the songs every customer likes, so you'll know what to buy and play on the juke box.
Despite searching the web for helpful hints, the few that were present weren't very useful. Some suggest emphasizing the purchase of veggies and meat. I'd probably recommend that you stock up on desserts HOWEVER the available money is limited.
I have no idea how some people reached the levels they claimed for the recipes since I believe the sum total of all coins earned never reaches the MAX the highest priced recipes would cost. Go figure!

Despite what others have said, I thought the graphics were beautifully rendered and very intricate designs were created. Basically a HOS with the option for Match 3. You can read the other reviews for details since I'm just recently completing this entertaining game. Not the most complex, but certainly captivating.

There is nothing overly challenging in this Match 3 game, so if you prefer the complex or difficult or time consuming (on one level) gameplay this is not for you. Also the story line is exactly the same as at least one other Match 3 on Big Fish.
Having said that, it was a very enjoyable game with all varieties of Match 3 plus good graphics. Worth the price on sale.

This is the second game in the Jewel Quest series, which includes Quest and Tournament modes.
Overall, I found this game a bit monotonous as you are playing the same boards over and over again, with slight variations.
To actually move around the board feels clunky. Instead of just sliding around the board, you actually have to click twice to move anything - very slow too!
In the initial trial period I don't think I was aware of the fact that it is a timed game. I really don't care for timed games and this one is an example of why: the work required is greater than the time allowed unless you can move at the speed of light.

You win each combat (through playing Match 3) IF the game wants you to win. Obvious, right? Or haven't you ever noticed that the items dropping down on the game board are not random - if they were, you might never get proper matches to complete the level. In this game, Puzzle Quest, the selection of pieces (refered to as "mana") are obviously carefully chosen by the game engine and are most obvious when the game doesn't want you to win - no matter what your skill level. I never thought I would tire of Match 3 but this game succeeded very well.
There are other issues not mentioned elsewhere so I decided to write this review.
There is a limit to the number of times you can purchase skill level improvements in the Temple of Your Citadel. You cannot exceed Combat Level 50 no matter how much experience points you earn. Be very careful of selling stuff which you may determine later in the game you actually wanted but cannot get back.
There is a lot of information on the Internet concerning this game and its strategies. I will verify that you do NOT want to choose Wizard (which I did). The Wizard is most definitely the weakest combatant especially against Lord Bane, the ultimate and final boss to be defeated.
Finally, I would suggest determining your strategy in advance of playing the game. Definitely decide what skills should be maxed out (usually three or four) and put everything to increasing only those requirements. Know what equipment (weapons, clothes, miscellaneous, etc.) you will want to use especially against Lord Bane so you don't inadvertently sell it at some point (which I did!)
There is a lot of content for the money, but the frustration I have endured just hasn't been worth it. I'm not even sure I'll complete it.

I was very disappointed to find out, after purchasing the game, that it didn't have a "casual" mode as does its predecessor. I really didn't want to have to write down the order of events on paper then transfer that to the game play in order to complete a level - something necessary unless you want to replay over and over again. :-(
I don't recommend this game.

Generally, I wouldn't review a game I found to my disliking but this game proved to be impossible after only three levels! I've done moderately well with other "tower defense" games, so I wasn't expecting to be stymied so soon. Definitely not for anyone but the most expert.
I don't recommend this game.

This release of the Final Cut series, Homage, is just as good as its predecessors: great graphics, well imagined sets and storyline and moving pictures.
But the one thing that made me laugh out loud in agreement was a statement made by the leading character about the artwork in the lobby of the hotel: "I never truly understood modern art. What was wrong with art before that?" ROFL
This was my first purchase of a collector's edition. I cannot say it was worth the extra costs; however, others might have a different opinion.
My only complaint is the periodic lack of a Match 3 option for the Hidden Object puzzles (I really don't like HOs - yes I know why am I playing this game then - 'cause it's great people!)
I recommend this game!

Peggle Deluxe has the best reusability of any Big Fish game I've played. I've owned this one for years and find myself returning often. If you enjoy this type of game, you'll find it was well worth whatever you paid for it.
My only criticism would be the challenge of certain game boards that seem impossible to complete within the alloted limitations for the board.
I recommend this game!
