I won't go into the details of play, as no one can match pennmom36 for fabulously detailed reviews. I will say that I play loads of HO games, and many leave me wishing for more, or wondering what the heck happened that the game just...ended...with no real explanation or denouement. This game was intriguing, exciting, and actually, left me just a bit teary at the end. That only happens when I feel really involved and the characters feel real. I know, silly me. But I did love this game!
I played this game in one sitting, that's how engrossed I was in the story. I think I started about 6 and it's 2:20 am, so about 6 hours of play. Good thing it's Saturday night!
I won't rehash what's already been said, but I will say I think it's quite poor sport for a reviewer to give a game one star based strictly on the demo, or because one doesn't like this type of game. This wasn't a perfect game, but the story is intriguing, and there is enough action to keep one interested through out. Great fun!
This game might be okay for a beginner, but I found it slow and tedious. I actually caught myself falling asleep right after locating the second doll. I logged out and deleted the game.
The first big shock of annoyance was that the were no voice overs! WHAT? In the this day and age, that seemed very lazy and backward. No separate map added to the annoyance. I found it by looking in the journal. I thought the storyline was disjointed, and much was left to your own interpretation. Coloration and backgrounds were beautiful, but the animation could have been better. In general, I had hoped to like this game, but was sorely disappointed.
Not a review, as such, as that has been done by many before me. Just wanted to add my five stars to the best game I have played this year!
This game is scary without being gross or bloody. Mini games were challenging without being so hard I needed to Skip to get on with the game. Everything about this was exciting and kept my interest the entire game!
I can't really add anything to the superb reviews already submitted, but I did want to say that this is the only game I have ever played that had me in tears at the end. Also, wish they would have credited the end song.
9 minutes of the demo; that's all I could stand. Too much dialog. No levels for expertise, so everything had sparkles and hints that lead you by the nose. B-O-R-I-N-G! Definitely a beginners game.
I really liked this game when I first started it, but found many of the puzzles to be unclear as to how they worked or how to solve them. I rarely skip over a puzzle, but found myself skipping most of the ones toward the end of the game. I tried to solve them, but found the direction so lacking that I became frustrated, and just wanted to continue the game.
And, my all time biggest gripe, an abrupt ending. PLEASE let me participate in the conclusion of the story! The ending of this game not only just ended, but left you hanging as to what happened to the others who were trapped. Did the developers run out of time before they needed to release the game???
Too bad the last third of the game was not as fun as the first part.
Just finished the game, and I must admit that I have stayed up late to finish it! It is THAT engrossing!
I'm not going to go over the ins and outs of the story, as that has already been addressed. Let me just say that I am a long time Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy fan (I'm 62, and have read those types of stories since I was a kid#, and there were times throughout this game when I narrowed my eyes, prepared to shut them, when the music indicated that something scary was about to happen! I have NEVER been that involved in any game!
I loved the game play, the graphics, the music #which I normally turn very low) and was happy to have a teleporting map to save the running from room to room to try to find your next step. The hint button, as mentioned by someone else, reminded me of Linda Blair in the Exorcist. The hints "vomited" out of the doll's mouth, which was pretty creepy in itself. But waiting for the hint to recharge was creepy, too, in that the doll would jerk just a little each step of the way.
I am looking forward to the next installment with bated breath!
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
There are already so many excellent reviews here, I don't think I can add anything of value to them. But I loved this game so much I had to come add my 5 stars to the list. Kept my interest throughout the game, and didn't bog me down with super hard mini-games. So happy it had an interactive map, or I would have been lost for days! Money well spent!
I'm not going to be reviewing this game as I couldn't stand to play it! 10 minutes was my limit. Cut-scenes were fuzzy and out of focus, every item was too small, nothing of interest to bring you into the story. After playing the Twin Vaccine game, which was totally engrossing, this game seemed draggy and boring. Not for me.
