I played the beta for this. When I first saw the beta offer, I didn't think I would like it, because I don't enjoy pixel art games, and it looked like those.
But this drew me right in. I haven't seen a game/puzzle like this before. Basically you color in segments of a particular length between squares marked with that number. The puzzle is in figuring out which ends go together and how to draw the lines. Once you have it solved, it makes a picture.
The pictures are detailed homey images, the music and theming is very calming. It is a great way to de-stress after a day of everything else.
I loved this beta, I did a little happy dance in my chair this morning when I saw it for sale and immediately bought it. Looking forward to playing it all the way through!!!!

Every time a new MCF game comes out I think to myself "this really makes every other HOG game seem sad". This one is no exception.
I agree with some of the other reviewers that this one is better than the last couple. I was beginning to despair about Grandma making the solid hit here, but this one is really solid. I appreciate the smoother integration of hints into the multi-puzzles.
My only annoyance is that the game was pretty short. I would have liked another hour or so of gameplay. (I finished the game, including bonus chapter, in ~5 hours).
I enjoyed the game through all the time management levels. I couldn't get three stars easily on some levels (and a few I am not sure I could have). I adored the first game and have replayed it several times, I was so excited to see this.
But, the game gets 4 Stars from me instead of 5 because the extra levels were Tower Defense instead of Time Management, and I really do not enjoy Tower Defense games. I wish I would have known this, I would have gotten the SE instead of the CE.

This is so different from any other game I have played from BigFish. I found it because the second game was released and I went back to see the reviews. I am so very very glad that I did.
I love HOG/strategy games, and I love adventure style time management, but this is a whole different style of resource gathering and finding. There is a lot less hand holding (although there is a map with teleporting, which I appreciated by the end of the game) although hints are available, mostly I didn't need any.
The final quest was less interesting to me than some of the side quests, but this is a winner!
