This was a very decent game. It was actually fun not to have to run crazy and figure out things that aren't there. There is a map which is very helpful should you get lost and need a nudge in the right direction. HOS aren't very difficult but enough of a challenge I used the hint button a few times. The hint will work outside the HOS, but with the map you shouldn't need it.
The mini games are to my liking. I solved them which is very unusual for me. Normally I don't have the patience to figure them out, but these were challenging enough yet simple so people like me can solve them.
The graphics are excellent and the sound superb. These developers did a fantastic job. The HOS were not piles upon piles of junk, but were good to be able to seek out the objects. The music was very good and not annoying in the least.
The level of challenge is not high. So if you are one of those who likes those games where you wander for days wondering what to do next, you are not going to like this game. It is challenging enough, but if you like there are 3 levels of play, so pick your poison. I played on the casual.
Whomever did the storyline needs some sort of award. I have to admit when I first got into the game, I wondered what in the world is making perfume going to do in this, but they wove everything together and it ended up a pretty darn good.
I think if you want a game that is fun, with beautiful graphics, well done voice overs and you want spend a few hours playing, you are going to like this.
I hate to say anything negative about these great games, and if you will notice I get level of challenge 5 bars. However, when is too much challenge too much?
It seems that all these MCF games are true adventure. There is no help button except in the HOS and I found myself totally lost most of the time. This game and all of these in the MCF series need at least a map of some sort to help you realize where in the world you were. I played for over 7 hours and eventually gave in and used the walkthrough to figure out where I was and what I needed to do. I even ended up with something left over in my inventory... I think. It just took the fun out of it for me. Even the mini games had no instructions or help. I know there are those who enjoy wandering aimlessly about a computerized world but I'm not one of them.
Now that the complaining is out of the way, the graphics are fantastic. Real people are intertwined in the story which is very good. The sound is fantastic and did I mention it is extremely challenging. The music and sounds are great also. The designers did a fantastic job.
The story is well written and true to the MCF series. You get an attachment to them and the ending, it was fantastic.
If you enjoy a level of challenge above and beyond all others, beautiful graphics and music, and a really good story, this game is for you! I highly recommend it. However, if you are like me and prefer and a little help along the way, then maybe you might consider passing this one by.
Having said all this, I do highly recommend this game.
I bought this without the trial, through the bundle offer, and because I enjoyed the other Fear game I already had. I have to say, I got my money's worth.
The fun factor was a bit hard to judge, because part of it is really fun and even exciting, but the running around took a lot of the fun out of it. This game definitely needed a map.
Graphics are top notch, but the hidden objects are dark and hard to see at times. I had to use the hint several times to clear the scene. The hint button is useful outside the hidden objects, but it is slower than molasses in January refilling. Use sparingly if possible. The music, while repetitive varies enough not to be boring and does add something to the story.
It is a Hidden Object game and if you like HOGs you are going to love this. There is one after another, but very few mini games, which is fine with me because I don't care for them.
The game was very challenging in that you need to get around the estate constantly and the hidden objects are just that hidden. Some of these were extremely difficult for me, but I survived and we defeated the evil demon.
The story goes along with all these games. The demon comes and posses somebody and you have to get their souls released. Pretty standard stuff. But even though you can tell there are going to be more games of this theme, it does end. That is a plus in my book.
All in all if you like hidden objects, you are going to love this game. I really liked it and I feel I got my money's worth.
Another winner for Elefun and I recommend this game.
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema.
I normally do not care for the CE games. They are usually loaded with things I don't care about, as is this one. However, this game was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed looking for the various objects outside the HOG. I got about half the morphing objects which is normal for me, but they actually do change enough that you can at least see them morph.
The graphics and sound is excellent. The voice overs are good and fit the characters.
The only negatives I could find were the HO were extremely simple in most cases. The mini games, I didn't care for at all and just skipped them along the way. That's just me though, I don't like minis.
The map and hint button are really helpful and I didn't get lost not one time, which is amazing. I did have a little trouble remembering where objects went, because they aren't used right away.
The story is a good one and at least it ends in this game. I'm sure along the way the demon will figure out how to get unchained again and a new game will come along.
I seldom write a negative review. I chalk up my negative experience on me an not the game. However, this is a different story. I think the reason I bought it was because the hero was a male for a change and I get tired of putting my pumps on so I can get into the story.
I was lost from the very beginning. I don't mean physically in the game, I mean what in the world was going on. There is a great map that tells you where you are, where things are to be done, and then will transport you to that location. I spent this entire time wondering what anything I was doing had to do with the story.
The concept was good. Boy loses mother on an island and runs into all sorts of nasty things while filling his thingamabob... oh you will have to figure it out. It made no sense to me whatsoever which reduced the fun factor tremendously. I honestly felt as though I was tied to that map trying to get out of the game rather alone the island. The bonus scene ... never mind. I didn't mind the double HOG, but some of them were pretty difficult. The minis were not that many and were relatively easy.
I will give them credit. The graphics and sound were well done. The voice overs were extremely well done.
I think the killer for was a great concept for the story, but it turned into just hunting for this or that. The ending was okay and at least the bonus chapter gave you an ending... wait, it made it sound like there was going to be another. Oh no.
I bought the game, because as I said there was a male hero for a change. If you play the demo you will get a taste, just a taste now, of what you are in for.
I really enjoyed this game. It has the same type play as their other HOG, where you must assemble objects to use in the story.
The graphics are well done and although this one is more fairy tale than the others I have played, the graphics are fitting for the story. I did have a bit of trouble with the sound. I adjusted it, but just never got the level I wanted. The voices were drown out. But all in all the visuals and sound were great. The music was varied enough it wasn't boring and the effects went along with the story.
If you haven't played the Blue Tea series, I believe you will find it very challenging in finding the parts you need to assemble. I remember the first one I played, I thought they had gone crazy, but it grows on you and I now own all of these games. Figuring out where you are going is a challenge, but you have the compass and the hint, which recharges quickly and assists you outside the HOGs. There are not a lot of mini games, which is fine with me. The HOGs are more of a mini game than HOG.
The story is really beautiful. A love story yet an adventure to behold. You have to make some decisions along the way which keeps you involved.
I bought this without playing the entire demo and did not regret it. If you want something a bit different then this one is for you.
I read in one of the reviews that this game was short and not much of a challenge. Well, I found it fun, exciting, and interesting.
The visual and sound were top notch, which I have come to expect from Elephant Games. The colors and scenes were extraordinary. The music didn't get on my nerves at all, but will keep the air of what is happening going in your mind.
The level of challenge, at least for me, was trying to remember where I had to return to do something. There is a map which is helpful and allows you to travel all over the city from scene to scene. However, the hint is my very best friend. Very helpful and gets you back on track when you get lost. It's a big city after all.
I gave the level of challenge probably more than most people, because it was extremely difficult for me to recall where certain objects were once I would find that special tool. The HOGs were simple and the mini games were a bit taxing, but all in all it was a challenging game.
The story was excellent. I don't know who writes these things, but they are very good. The ending was so good. I knew it was going to happen and wanted it to happen... well you'll see.
I have played many hidden object games and from reading some of the reviews, I was excited about this one. However, it was a disappointment to say the least.
The fun factor... it just didn't exist at least for me. It started out okay, but then it switched to the fantasy type play which is just not my cup of tea. Naming animals from Dream Cards, which is a mini game. Not hard but kind of silly.
For me, it was difficult to figure out what to do next. I hate using the hint so much just to figure out where to go next,, but it does recharge quickly.
The graphics are fantastic. The sound has it's ups and downs, but on the most part is really good. Not annoying and brings some excitement to the play.
I have mentioned the difficulty in where to go next, but I must say the HOGs are challenging. From what I played I had to use the hint button at least once. Even with the hint, it was difficult to see the object, so they are well hidden.
The story line was... interesting for the time I played, which was just the demo. I saw enough to know it was not keeping my attention.
I personally am not going to use my credit to get this one. I'll save it. I might buy this on sale, but not at this time. For the first time, I have to say I do not recommend this game, unless you are into fairy tales.
Eerie music fills the air in Vienna, where shadows terrorize people in the streets. Two musical prodigies have gone missing. Can you save them without striking a single false note?
I have one of the others in the series and this one is as good as the other. It is shorter than I recall the other to be, but that does not stop if from being a fun game.
The fun factor is there along with suspense. I like the hint which I found I didn't need very often. You get to travel all over and, even I, didn't get lost.
The graphics are exceptional as are the voice overs and the sound. I have to admit that after a while, I did turn the music down a bit and I'll not be attending any violin concerts in the near future, but it isn't so annoying that it detracts from the game.
The level of challenge was a bit surprising. The Hidden Objects were for the most part easy and the Mini games, while not too difficult, I did find myself skipping several, because for the life of me I could not figure out what I was suppose to do.
The story line is really interesting and if you have any of the others in the series you know what it is going to be. However, there is an end to this one and it doesn't leave you hanging as to what happened.
All in all it was a good and I bought it. Guess that is about as good a recommendation as I can give.
This game is great fun. Elephant has done it again!
I liked this game, it was fun, but I had quite a bit of trouble figuring out where to go from scene to scene. It could have just been me, but it was difficult in that means.
The graphics are simply fantastic and the sound quality is excellent. The music isn't dark and even has a light side to it. The effects do add an element of excitement to the story.
The Hidden Object Games are not too challenging, but it is a bit different from the usual type. If you don't have something in your inventory needed to complete a part, you will need to come back when you find it. Not hard and really a relief from the usual hunt and find.
There is an inner-active map which is some help, but not a whole lot except to move from place to place. I found the hint button to be my BFF. It takes a minute for it to recharge, but it isn't that bad and is a great help is discovering what needs to be done or where to go next.
The mini games are pretty easy, but I did have to skip a couple of them. I don't have the greatest patience in the world so I am probably the problem there.
I loved the storyline. As silly as it was, it kept my attention and I still think Thunder needs to have his "wings clipped." You'll understand that once you have played the game. Silly yes, but it's a game for goodness sake and not meant to be taken seriously and it actually has a decent ending. Somebody actually put some thought into the story.
Over all this is a really good game. If you are one who likes a challenge this probably is not for you. It is simple for a change and that was nice. Just long enough to make it worth your money and not so long that you tire of it. As I said, Elephant has done it again.
