TERRIFIC GAME, ONE OF THE BEST! If only today's games were that good! Very long, very detailed, very clever, hard too, i had problems solving many of the puzzles but the game was entertaining and rewarding in every way.

the graphics are far from crisp in a lot of scenes and the scenery so littered with Chinese artifacts, for no rhyme no reason no less, that I just could not get sucked in this messy web! It had no sense of reality and when one plays with history, one should make the effort of giving one the impression they are discovering a true ancient site instead of a scattered Disneyland replica of one! I was so looking forward to this since I have a soft spot for archeology but I was utterly disappointed. Nothing made any sense, things were just thrown together, looking brand new no less in spite of their seemingly old age: no sensible thread, no excitement, not for me, at all! AWFUL!
I don't recommend this game.

Dream Hills: Captured magic
This is what seems to be an older game without the bells and whistles, animation and crisp graphics of newer games, yet the plot has more continuity than most recent offerings making it much more pleasurable.
Don’t get mislead by the cartoonish characters: yes, this is a fairy tale story but not so easy as to be meant for children. There are both easy and hard challenges within and the game kept me entertained to the end! Since it was cute and humoristic, it is a perfect game to play with your offsprings so you can put your 2 cents in when they need help.
I enjoyed it greatly regardless of the negatives that I will mention below:
Too many repeated Hos’s with quite a few hidden or minute objects close to impossible to see in an often very dark blurry background: I hate to use the hint but on some, I could not do without.
There is a lot of back and forth, but I did not mind too much here: what I did mind is that, after the free trial, having completed probably ½ of the game, I could not go from scene to scene anymore without using the hint button, it became necessary, there was absolutely no clue on what to do next and I often had to go thru 6 scenes before I found out what I needed to do and would have been there for hours had it not be for the hint button indeed! I dislike having to do so but there was no other way, especially since there is no map either. Yet I still enjoyed the game greatly, especially the beginning which could be solved without cheating, but I did resent going for help afterwards, and on a regular base, as in the end, that is all I was doing: hint, hint, hint!
But all games seem to lose their thread as one goes along, as if the developer lost interest….
He is not the only one in this case!
That happens to movies too, they start with a bang, and fizz out at the most important part, the finish, because that is what one will remember and judge, not the beginning nor the middle but the END!
I am also still wondering why the mermaid did not get the legs she asked for… I looked intensely for those legs and was looking forward to helping her…. but she left without waiting for them!
Lastly, I had to start the game twice as a glitch blocked me from continuing during the first effort, but that was OK, I was not too far in and it was easy to redo since I knew the solution up to where I got stuck.
It made me realize this is a game that will be fun to redo since it will not be as hard to find my way, the second time around, through these pretty cartoonish hamlets: for one, I now know there are quite a few locations one would never discover without the hint button and now I know where they are!
I just finished the game, it was nice and long. I had fun in spite of the few negatives, and that is all I ask for!
I realize, although I prefer realism such as a detective plot, that I do not mind the fairy tales games which are basically still human and one can relate to, they are cute, fun, cheerful and colorful for one and can be played with a child: what I do mind are the futuristic games which take advantage of the lack of reality they offer by giving one ridiculous tasks that would make no sense in life and have no rhyme nor reason in the plot, it makes them harder to solve, OK, but dumber too as they involve a useless, clueless goose chase which does not satisfy the gamer in the end.
I recommend this game!

Games that start off very well but descend into complete absurdity, or lesser graphics, soon after the trial is over, make me very wary of the distributor.
I bought this because it seemed charming, this lovely child room with a dollhouse, this little girl that needed saving from an evil force, the house, the gardens, all well drawn and attractive. It felt comfortable to look for clues in this setting. But soon the fun stopped as the game descended into profound absurdity and uninteresting worlds (and some lesser graphics, with less detail too)….
A game (chopped up as this was between a bunch of uncoherent locales) makes no sense at all, and when the story breaks up to the extend this did, (with no map, and poor hints no less) it does not give enough incentive or desire to continue because one has lost the thread or the sense of the plot long ago and by now, could care less... I did continue however, since I am stubborn, and the ending was just as disappointing as the rest, no plot till the end, no satisfaction in finishing, just a relief for being done…
The desire to get to the end dissolves when one has lost track of too many beginnings, none that make any sense at all, even if you allow yourself to believe in the absurd… Granted such chopped up contents with no common sense at all are much harder to solve, but they require no skills, just pot luck: “hum, maybe if I place this searing piece of charcoal on the shelf by the front door, the door will open….” And it did, would you believe…!!!! Maybe that is what is intended here, the absence of any sense which make the game more difficult, but then one is robbed of the feeling of accomplishment deserved only when one solves the game with intelligence and practicality.
In the past, I also read of people complaining a lot about either spelling mistakes in games, objects (one has to locate) improperly named (making it impossible to find them, except with pot luck), period pieces with modern objects that did not exist back then, wrong accents, wrong architecture etc… it did not bother me too much so far, I just played whatever game, considering it only a game with no real depth…. But I was wrong to ignore the mistakes I uncovered elsewhere for there were so many here, it became so irritating that I could not bear to tolerate them any longer and I thought: children play these games too, they will learn so many things incorrectly….
I certainly understand these games are created all over the world by people that do not automatically master the English language (obviously they need a proper translator to verify the finished product if they wish to sell the game to an english speaking country) but this game had so many errors of every kind, it became unbearable for me to ignore. I will name a few: there is a bouquet of lavender which they named, plainly, “grass”, we are asked to look for a “walnut” which is unmistakably a “coconut”, we are supposed to feed a “toucan” (which they misnamed: “parrot”… It is true he has parrot feathers instead of toucan feathers which misleads further but the beak is definitively toucan, or hornbill..) and we are also asked to feed him a “doughnut” which is indeed a “bagel”. At another time, we are asked to crack a nut, so I chose a figure that looks very much like a Swiss Christmas wooden soldier and give him the nut to crack, he certainly has the chops for it, but what he requires instead is to shred the lavender into seeds which, in real life, cannot be done, by the way, with his improper implements: this makes the game harder, OK, but dumber too.
And to bring us to further common sense or lack of: we are asked to build a bridge over 2 large sink holes in the Sahara desert, holes that we could simply have walked around since there is no other obstacle as far as the eye can see or… we could look for a plank to cover them (right?) if we cared this much about fixing the desert?….. But who would have thought of throwing a horse saddle to fill one of the cave-ins??? This developer did! How absurd!!! Try to climb over the horse saddle which is far from flat! I promise that if you care to use your brain, you will resort to walking around the hole or find the necessary piece of wood I first mentioned! Who would have thought that a hot coal placed in an opening would open a door? What about the soldier with long teeth misused to shred grain, you need molars for that! What about a small cup of water creating fire by magic when it should have been the opposite? Then we pick a mussel shell to collect something we need but as we scoop things up, it turns into a scallop for no reason at all, and not intended I am sure. Those two shells are quite different!
To conclude, the story has no continuity nor reason, the period pieces contain plenty of period errors, which I would have ignored had there been so many other mistakes as tools used improperly for one or named wrong, the later making hidden objects scenes even harder to resolve and resigning us to a pot luck search which is not fun nor challenging, but irritating.
I can sum it all with these words: irrealistic, ridiculous, irritating, so so far fetched, loaded with errors… And to top it all, we have this little goblin to help us, on so few occasions by the way (not that I missed him) that one forgets about him altogether, but the developer reminds us every time we need to summon him and what his task must be(!!!), what challenge is there in that? Besides the poor thing is apparently so loaded with arthritis that he is stiff as a board and should be retired from climbing trees for sure, in my opinion.
I don't recommend this game.

I was looking forward to playing this game so much, the graphics looked superb and I love Italy but it took me about 8 mns to be so aggravated with the game that I had to give up: retrieving objects with the arrow turned out to be such a challenge, I did not have the time nor patience to go thru it. Then if they were broken, you had to first put them in a little window where they would be fixed and it was hard enough to drag them there in the first place, certainly not done in 1 try, awful! Took me a while to figure all that out plus it was very annoying, and there was no help of any kind that I could find. Then the scenes can be enlarged, but then they are of a lower quality and so blurry, it is annoying too!. Not worth driving myself nuts for this, the game needs to work properly or differently to be enjoyed, this was not the case here, the way it works is so aggravating that I could not continue. I was so happy to stop to keep my blood pressure down! I had to grade the storyline with no knowledge of it since 8 mns is all it took for me to run the other way.

On the first board, I had to collect, slowly no less as the worker was not that fast, over 50 trees and an equal amount of blue packages, it must have taken 20 mns of exhausting identical back and forth which turned me off completely from the game. From the second level on, there was less to collect but what needed to be done first was so vague and the timing so short it was irritating, I spent the rest of the hour trying to get to level 5, I finally managed but it was too repetitive for me, I don't have that MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS
I don't recommend this game.

INTERESTING GAME! Different puzzles, some easy, some not. The story is compelling though supernatural, the graphics could have been better but the game is good enough so far (have only played the demo and will buy) and kept my interest (in spite of the not always crispy background) which is unusual these days as all the games resemble each other and make so little sense that I lose interest. Here, the clues were not absurd and the objects found made sense, and I appreciated that. Nice!
