The game was short, but by the time it was over I was ready for it to be. After the first dozen battles the variation in enemies and gameplay wasn't enough to keep my attention.
Mankind lives in terror as creatures of the darkness plague the continent. Travel this dangerous world, making unlikely allies and facing invincible foes in this exciting Role Playing Game.
Great RPG with a fun storyline battling werewolves and vampires. The game goes pretty quick with about 10 hrs of gameplay. It is also very easy for the first half and I was able to walk through most dungeons w/o having to heal at all.
From land, to deep underground, to high above Estis you can adventure with Leah as she makes startling discoveries about herself and the people around her.
I enjoyed Leah's Tale and found the gameplay very similar to the Aveyond games. The characters and storyline were fun and the game was a good length. There was a lot about it that was truly unique though.
The game doesn't provide much of a walkthrough. The game starts you out with a big battle and no instruction. From there its up to you to really figure out searching, equipping, and the skills. luckily the controls are similar to other RPG games. I gave up after they took my dog and gave me no idea what the next mission quest to progress was.
After LOT, I thought that each part of these games would be acquiring another quarter key. Nope! Where the first part got you one key, this gets you the other three. It makes Gates of Night longer and more expansive than LOT. Great game.
I really enjoy the Aveyond games. This is the first chapter in the orbs of magic series. It has great gameplay and a storyline. I was hooked from the beginning.
The one downside is splitting this game into four chapters makes the game go quick. Still the same price as longer RPGs but I finished it in about 10 hrs of game play.
The game starts out a bit too slow with only a single path to walkthrough. After about the third or fourth level it picks up a bit, but the game is still very linear. It takes away some of the excitement.
The gameplay is fun but there are a few missing elements. They give skills/spells too quick and with too many to really get the feel of. The selection of gear could be a bit better too.
The graphics were far better than the first but i would say that was the only thing better. The story line and humor continue from the first shining plume. There were feature in the first I liked such as being able to see the opponents life points that was gotten rid of. Also they made all the status effects in Japaneses characters (and i don't know about you but i can't read Japanese).
Also there are two parts where there are "puzzles" that thank goodness for google otherwise there would be no solving them.
