"WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" Asks the voice at the beginning that's a little creepy. That had my attention immediately! I wondered what was going to happen next. Well, I got an awesome companion...Drake...a childhood playmate from the past. Of coarse, every once in a while I was caught off guard by ghost that popped out of nowhere. I can say I loved the music...it wasn't creepy but pleasant for scenes that would have been considered dreary or creepy. I really liked the whole game all the way through.
I really liked this game. The story and puzzles are great. I like everything but the ending, which to me was to short, Having played the first game in this series I was expecting a great ending. When Heart of the Beast ended abruptly I was rather disappointed. But other than that I truly liked everything else. I do recommend this game.
I enjoyed this game because it was different from the gaming trend at this time. The story and graphics are good. I found the puzzles not to easy or to complicated either. It was nice having to actually search for things in the scenes without everything being given to me. If I found myself 'stuck' I used the hint to find out what to do next or where to go. I recommend this game to those who want a relaxed but not over easy or over hard game that has a good story.
One second is all it takes to have your son snatched. Next thing you know your solving awesome puzzles to have a tree's roots grab you and gently lay you in a lost world. And just when you thought you had your boy...he remains out of reach in the hands of a mean little dwarf. And there is this evil shadowy demon you encounter at intervals. Solve the puzzles, to destroy the demon and save your boy!
Who is the Crimson Thief? Can Mortimer piece together the clues to finding all the stolen items? There is much more to this new mystery than meets the eye.

Moritmer Beckett series sets a standard to adventure puzzle games. I have all three of the others and love them. The stories always keep my interest and the puzzles are challenging, something that is hard to find with puzzles today. I know people like "easy" games but sometimes having everything given to you takes the fun away from the game.
I like that you're not rushed to find things or penalized for miss clicking. Just a great HO game with some others puzzles in there to spice it up. If you are looking for a nice change from the adventure puzzle games I recommend this.

The opening cinema was catching. I thought...OH NO! A man being zapped...unnerving. Then BAM! A huge electric ball. Of coarse, Laura is on the case again. Awesome story and same challenging puzzles system as before. Glad to see the developers sticking with that because a lot games I've played lately just seem to easy. I like even the beginner's mode to have some challenge...NYM series does that. ( I always usually play through the first time on the beginner's setting then hop over to hard the next round. Of coarse, cannot wait for next story in this series. Hope this series keeps the same MO for the challenging puzzles and great stories,
I love this game it has a great story. The HOS scenes made me work to find the objects, not the everyday seek and find. The story kept my interest from beginning to end. From mafia members vanishing to children being kidnapped. A member of the Stone Order coming out of a ten year coma to one of it's members being murdered. An investigative journalist to solve the mystery and find the children. I can say I wish more of the newer games was like this one because it gives me a good challenge...even in the easy setting.
