This has got to be the worst game that I've ever played. I couldn't even get too far into the demo before I uninstalled this piece of garbage.
The graphics were terrible. The game is highly interactive to the point of being irritating- there seems to be endless "clicking".
I hated this game... I wouldn't even purchase it as a free game.
This is one that you DEFINITELY NEED TO DEMO before you even think of buying.
Trust me.
I don't recommend this game.

I used a free game coupon in order to "purchase" this game. I'm glad that I did.
The game had a lot of potential; decent music, excellent graphics, an adequate storyline, challenging HOS, ok puzzles... but the game was over in a flash. I mean this game is really, REALLY short.
This game COULD have been worthwhile... but it certainly isn't.
I don't recommend this game.

I really liked this game. It's a pure adventure game that plays like a HOPA, without the HOS... which I really enjoyed because I prefer the adventure aspect of the games offered by Big Fish. It wasn't an especially hard game (I played using "regular" mode), but it WAS a lot of fun!
There are collectibles to gather. There are achievements to earn... even for using the hint button five and ten times respectively (you have to drag the items in your inventory onto the hint button in order to get those two achievements).
The BIG disappointment is the fact that Big Fish didn't offer the "Premium" (Collectors) Edition of this game... because it is available (I got my premium edition from another game site).
It's a shame because there are two achievements that can't be earned in the SE. It was also a bit frustrating to find out that a Collectors Edition of this game was available AFTER I had already completed the SE.
So Big Fish kind of dropped the ball on this one.
In spite of that fact, the SE is outstanding. I was, in fact, quite surprised because I didn't expect the game to be so entertaining... which is why I "purchased" it as a free game.
It's money well spent (if you like adventure games and want to take time out for a casual game experience).
I recommend this game!

I have played other games by this developer, and this particular game doesn't do them justice.
There is a map that allows a player to teleport, but there is no journal.
The hint system (as is usually always the case with this developer) is outstanding.
But there are no achievements (zero, zilch, zip, nada), and there is nothing to to collect (no morping objects, no butterflies, no flowers, no anything).
Although I purchased the CE, I feel disappointed nonetheless.
Like I said... I have played other games by this developer (which were outstanding) but with this game I feel a bit short changed.
I recommend this game!

I purchased this game and really, REALLY tried to like it... but I just couldn't.
The storyline was bland, the background sounds were irritating, the game moved along about as fast as a snail on Prozac, and the woman in the story (the mother) sounded about as emotional about her son being kidnapped as someone ordering fries from a burger joint.
I used the hint button like crazy just to get through the game, but even that didn't help. Before I completed the game I finally uninstalled it just so I could be over and done with it.
One of the worst games that I've ever played.
I don't recommend this game.

Ok... I'm in the minority as it seems that a lot of other Fishies have liked this game.
The thing that I liked about this game is the fact that it's heavy on the adventure side (which I prefer),and has few hidden object scenes (which I also prefer).
This game has quite a few puzzles though (I don't like puzzles) and I wouldn't have a problem with that if you could skip over them entirely (which I usually do anyway).
Unfortunately, a player is not always given that option as is the case of an door lock that you have to open in order to proceed in the game.
It begins with a puzzle which can be skipped... that's not a problem (although the skip button does take a while to fully charge).
The next faze is a second puzzle which can also be skipped... again that's not a problem.
But the third phase (which relates to the puzzles that a player might have already passed up on) cannot be skipped... so you either figure it out or you stay "stuck".
I am terrible when it comes to puzzles, and so when I reached the third phase I wound up having to uninstall the game.
One major issue that I have with this game, however, is the fact that it does an especially poor job of saving your progress.
I can't tell you how many times I exited the game and logged back into the game, only to discover that it had failed to save my progress from the previous game session.
I had to "retrace" my steps on numerous occasions and repeat actions that I had previously done.
I don't care how good a game might seem to be. If it doesn't save your forward progress, it isn't a game worth playing (I did an uninstall/reinstall of the game, but that didn't correct the problem).
In my opinion, this game is a real downer.
I don't recommend this game.

Lately I've noticed that some reviewers have criticized ERS for making their games to easy. It's true: their games aren't the hardest that I've encountered, however, I do think that their games do offer a moderate challenge.
I don't think that this game was especially easy (though I do like an easy game from time to time), nor was it exceptionally hard. For myself it fell into the "just right" category. I'm a casual gamer, and don't like when games are too difficult. I'm also a slow player, and so this game took me around 8 hours to complete.
There wasn't a lot of backtracking and the puzzles were pretty easy (as has already been mentioned in some other reviews) . I did some of them, but not all, because I really don't like puzzles. There was also a moderate number of HOS... ERS did a good job of mixing things up, and so the game never got boring.
As I state in my title, this game is worth playing. Fellow Fishies that have especially good game skills might not agree with me, but I recommend that you at least give this game a trial run... you might like it.
All I know is that I thought that this game was fun!
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the demo only. The storyline got me curious and so I did purchase the game (but haven't completed it yet).
There are three game modes;
Casual: (hint and skip recharge quickly, active zones are highlighted, sparkles).
Hard: (slower hint and skip recharge, active zones are not highlighted).
Advanced: (slow hint and skip recharge, no highlighted zones, black bar tips disabled).
Game mode can be changed during game play.
I played on casual mode and completed the demo (which consists of 2 chapters) in 40 minutes.
There are a total of 6 chapters and a bonus chapter to this game.
Game has a full screen mode (with widescreen option).
Custom cursor can be disabled.
The integrated strategy guide keeps its place.
There is a game diary.
There is an objectives (goals) list.
There is no map. It's not really needed because there isn't a lot of back and forth in this game.
There are no HO Scenes (at least there weren't in the demo). I liked the game for that reason; I prefer the adventure aspect of games such as this.
There were several puzzles in the demo, but they weren't hard.
You receive an infra-red light in the game, which you use to uncover additional "clues" (which are found whenever you come across a red balloon).
You can lock the inventory in place, or leave it unlocked.
CE Extras include the bonus chapter, screen saver, movies, concept art, music and wallpapers.
This game doesn't seem especially hard, but is nice for a casual gaming experience.
The storyline has me a bit curious - there isn't much of an intro so you learn more as you go along. But the wife of the victim seems to be up to something (no good perhaps), there's a police officer that seems shifty and can't be trusted, a figure masked as a clown that you are in pursuit of, and a street person that pops up from time to time that provides you with game items.
I'm not sure if this game would present much of a challenge for those that seek difficult games, but thus far I am enjoying this one. As I said earlier, there don't seem to be any HO scenes in this game... it seems to be geared more for adventure (which is more up my alley).
I recommend that you try it before you buy it.
I recommend this game!

I didn't care for this game.
I know, I know... this developer gets plenty of accolades on this site, but I honestly don't know why. They don't make bad games, but I don't think that they are the "leader in the industry" either.
Insofar as this game is concerned:
Graphics.
The graphics in this game were ok, but they weren't incredible. This developer always seems to get an A+ rating when it comes to graphics, however, I've seen better graphics produced by other developers. Fact is, I'm never really impressed by the graphics that Elephant Games has to offer.
Achievements:
In this game there are none. Nada. The only thing a player can do is "take pictures" of the various critters that you encounter in this game.
On Taking "Snapshots" or "Pictures":
It's VERY UNFORGIVING. If you miss taking a snapshot of a critter, then you missed that respective snapshot (period). There's no going back. In other games that I've played (that have flowers, butterflies, or morphing beyond objects etc.), I've always been able to return to areas of the game that I've already explored, and "pick up" an object that I might have missed (provided that the previous areas of the game aren't "locked").
Not so in this game. In this game you have an opportunity to take a picture of a critter that you encounter, but if you miss it the first time around, you've missed it for good. I don't like when a game is that inflexible. If I miss something, than I almost feel as if the game "beat me".
VO's:
They were ok... nothing to write home about.
HOS:
I like something a bit different, and so placing objects INTO the HOS is a nice change... but it really got aggravating when I had to do that for ever HOS. I like a mix, but the approach that this developer took was a bit "overkill" in my opinion.
All in all I'm leaving a point of view here, but I won't recommended the game one way or the other.

I actually liked this game a bit more than the first game of this series (there didn't seem to be as many HO scenes in this game as opposed to the other one... which is fine by me, because I prefer the adventure aspect of any game that I play).
The storyline was ok- nothing that would win a Pulitzer though. The music was ok as well, though I had it turned down relatively low. The graphics were decent as well.
I played the game on casual mode, and it wasn't all that difficult although I did use the hint option from time to time. Speaking of hints- this game has a much better hint system than the usual "there's nothing to do here right now" that this developer has used in the past. In fact, the hint system in this game is better than some other games that I have played.
The HOS weren't especially difficult. This game also give the player an option to switch to match three (I only used the option once.
All in all I don't think that this was a bad game at all. If anything, fishies can "try it before they buy it"... which is something that I would always recommend anyway.
I recommend this game!
