This is another Match 3 by the same company that made Silver Tales - aka the BEST match 3 out there next to the Puzzle Quest series.
I enjoyed this game and the challenging match 3 puzzles, however, I hope the developers build upon the style and success of Silver Tales for the next game.
MatchVentures has much less story and no other characters but the creepy leprechaun. And what's that about anyway?! I thought he was supposed to be the villain - he looks like he came straight from the horror movies with the same title. Yeah I could've done without that.
The idea of earning gold to rebuild a castle was nice and it certainly took a long time to earn enough gold and beat all the levels, but this style sacrificed the story and made the dungeon crawling feel stagnant. Actually.... I didn't even realizing that's what I was "doing" until maybe halfway through the game.
Overall, this is another great Match 3 game for those that love the genre!
This game is worth every penny! It's LONG - and I mean LONG - I put in a ton of hours. The match 3's are challenging, there's a slot machine to earn more items, there's a daily login prize, plus a bunch of RPG elements.
You have to collect items and make things with the Blacksmith, feed your horse so he... like. DOESN'T DIE. It's just great. I had so many extra items and materials I would love to have exchanged them for gold to buy special items to get thru the harder levels - and you NEED those items. So save your gold. I also love the journey through the kingdom and that the characters you meet along the way were actually voiced by excellent voice actors.
This game has ruined me for Match 3's! Really - if you love Match 3's or want to try the genre, Silver Tales is a MUST BUY.
This review is based on the demo AND the game.... because I beat the game in 45 minutes.
To be fair, I typically play the SE demo first and then play the CE and skip a lot of the cut scenes to see how much further I can get in the game. Every once in a while I make it to the end which is a major knock on a game. I usually skip the puzzles to get thru as much story as possible, but I was able to beat a few in under 15 seconds so the games were fairly simple - great for a more casual gamer.
The hidden object puzzles were also easy to get through due to the production design and graphics so if you like a challenge I would skip this one.
The overall story was pretty standard for these kinds of games; however, something happened to one of the characters that shocked me so well done to the creators. I like when HOAs go a little bit darker and creepier. I actually made it through the CE version, finding most of the items and starting the bonus game. If you've got a little extra money to spend or want a free game that's a bit creepy but not too scary, go for it, but neither version is worth the full price.
I am a Jane Austen Fan-actic - I love the fan fiction, movies, TV, and games. Regency Solitaire - with it's Austen-like tone - was a wonderful addition to my game collection with plenty of solitaire levels to keep me busy! As much as I love to make my games last, the story was so wonderful that I may have obsessively played until I got to the end.... maybe (I did).
A marked improvement on the series hands down with a complex, eerie story that puts family to the ultimate challenge. Beautiful visuals, atmospheric & layered sound editing, and a great variety of HOPs, mini-games, and back & forth puzzles. Plus you get to traverse time & space.... so that's cool.
The Collector's Edition comes with a bunch of goodies that have already been listed in other reviews, but I will say the bonus chapter offers an excellent epilogue that finalizes this particular family story. In conclusion... BUY THE CE!

I am a cooking show and cooking game show junkie so a time management game all about an international chef competition immediately caught my attention.
I loved this! Fun characters, great cartoon style, and a great story that'll keep you going in an otherwise simple game. I had a blast but I also tend to struggle toward the end of most TM games and breezed through this one, so for expert TM players, you may find this one a bit easy. However, you get printable recipes, earn aprons with bonuses, and there are HOP to break things up. So fun and so worth it!
MUST OWN higher/lower Solitaire Game! Gorgeous graphics, a cute story, and 48 states of solitaire levels each with 10 levels so..... 480 levels! Not to mention the play is regularly broken up with a few fun mini-games that can also be played separately.

UGH! This game is FANTASTIC. Creepy, engaging, beautifully made, and accompanied by a compelling story with three dimensional characters brought to life by stellar voice acting. I regret NOT purchasing the CE because I wanted more.
I'm honestly shocked this game has such a mediocre rating - I loved it and have played my fair share of Mahjong games! There's a fun tale with our huntress, Mary Riley, and I hope a mahjong sequel comes out continuing her story...... And if the developer wants to turn her story into an HOA that would be super too (HINT HINT).
The graphics are lovely, the music is eerie enough to reflect the tone, and there are periodic journal entries from Mary's kidnapped suitor to offer insight into their relationship. As far as the mahjong puzzles: there are 6 chapters within the story containing several levels each of mahjong puzzles. Each level has a 3-star rating: 1 for completion, 1 for high score, and 1 for the bonus goal. There are also Achievements; once you "CLAIM" a completed achievement, it earns you energy crystals for power-ups that are helpful when completing hard bonus objectives for more difficult levels. Each chapter also has a 3-star Match-3 boss battle. There are another 232 mahjong puzzle "Mystery Challenges" with high scores & bonus objectives to play in addition to the story. The one thing I could see as a criticism is the lack of variety. Other than the boss battles, this game is straight mahjong and for gamers used to mini-games breaking up the main play style, this will be a disappointment.
Overall, as a gaming "completionist" and lover of mahjong, this game has provided hours of entertainment and relaxation I'm STILL enjoying on the daily and is a MUST OWN. I usually take advantage of sales to make game purchases so getting this game on the cheap has made it even sweeter, but Mahjong Huntress is well worth the full price considering the amount of puzzles and time you will put into it!
...the game is boring and slow. I'm glad I got this free because I'd want my money back (as it is I want my free game credit back).
It's basically HOS with a few puzzles. The graphics are dark, making objects hard to see, and the story ends at "Part 1..." but there's no more parts so you'll never know what happens.
