I really think it's time DP is laid to rest until either Blue Tea takes it back & brings it back to the way it was, & they redo the last 3 games in the series.
I was hoping that they would get better with time since eipix took over the series but it hasn't & the mish mash of throwing in previous characters & titles just makes it worse.
The maps in the last 2 or 3 are not the same, they are worse, the story lines have not gotten any better, there really is no story line or plot in the series anymore & nothing makes sense at all either.
It is bad enough that the graphics are cartoony, they took out the cursed objects & made the parables these morphing blobs that make no sense at all but bringing back characters such as Jack in this one which doesn't look like Jack nor act the way he was, & not with his girl but to try & insert them with no real function or role but hey ya gotta get some of the previous into the new series to make it seem more like a true DP...ya'll please stop screwing up the series, just stop & don't do anymore cuz ya'll have butchered the series & name
Mechanical bears & golden touch (which is actually Midas not Goldilocks) & a sun godess that gives life back to a sister & gives a golden touch to Leda & then the godess feels bad so won't interfere anymore...what sense does any of that make??? The only thing that is goldilocks is the bears but that doesn't even come close to a background of a fairy tale or what happened.
The mini games are getting worse also, no rhyme or reason as to what to do or what story it is supposed to convey & no one knows the detective is coming where most of the earlier games (Blue Tea ones) they asked for the detective they knew who & why he was there & now again nothing plus making the detective a female.
Eipix in most all of their games they do are pretty good, not sure why this one series they have destroyed so well & has made it almost unbearable to play & get thru. The series is no longer fun, engaging, interesting & challenging, unless the challenge is in trying to figure out the story line, plot & relevance of the mini games with the story.
I should have played the trial version before buying this one, but I hoped it would get better but 3 strikes & you're out, until Blue Tea brings back DP as it should be & as it was I won't be getting anymore of the series & I wish I could get my money back for the last 3 CE I got cuz they are so not worth it
I don't recommend this game.

DP Queen of Sands a little better then the Mermaid nothing like the DP's from Briar Rose to Rapunzel. The graphics are Eipix for sure & Blue Tea's graphics, story line & all is not seen much except in the name. The graphics are cartoony compared to earlier DPs & the story line still is awful, tho a little easier to follow then Mermaid.
This is the 2nd time playing Queen since I got Goldilocks CE (should have played the demo to see if any better but didn't so will probably be disappointed on that one as well) I replay the series to keep up with what is next but Mermaid I couldn't even finish this time & it is looking like I won't be able to finish Queen as well due to the awful hard to follow story line, if there actually is one, & the fact not much makes sense.
Besides the cartoony graphics, which after playing the earlier ones the graphics are just hard to see so different as well as no cursed objects, no real story line, the parable notes characters are not anywhere unless they are the morphing looking blobs again & the characters are not really in tune with DPs that we have come to love.
Eipix is good in their own way but them taking over developing the DPs has not been a good thing at all, & I like most of Eipix's other games but this is just killing the series between the awful graphics, story lines, characters & just a mish mash of stuff thrown in in order to try to keep w/ Blue Tea's way of bringing in past DP characters in each series .
I see that Blue Tea was involved in these last 2 games in the series but I don't think they had much say in anyway but in name.
I said after mermaid I was gonna play the demo before getting anymore but I just keep hoping it will get back to some degree of what it was & how it was before the takeover or collaboration w/ Eipix.
It would be very nice if Blue Tea would take back the series get rid of Mermaid, Queen & if Goldilocks is like these last 2 games then that as well & redo them all in the way & manner they have done the DPs from the beginning.
The FROGS are not even well done, the mini games are atrocious & make no sense whatsoever, a mechanical board that 4 things have to go into & all for 2 sentences maybe 3 that have nothing to say at all...A mini game that you have to find all these things from a bubble that doesn't even have a story behind the mini game that helps tell the story of what it is or why...
Please if ya'll are not gonna try to keep with the way it was & how it was & have a decent story line that makes sense easy to follow & keeps with the way of DP then do not even do it cuz you just kill the series with what ya'll have been turning out.
I don't recommend this game.

I love Dark Parables, the whole series up to this point has been truly beautiful, fun, engaging & awesome from the beginning to the end the realistic art & visual quality (scenes, castles, characters etc), story lines, plots, & characters all made sense, & carried thru out each game in the series & built on each other...until this game
This game from the very beginning I could tell it wasn't right, the graphics were too cartoony looking, the characters, plot, & story lines made absolutely no sense. It seemed like they just threw things in to try & make it seem like the others in the series but they fell way way short.
I know Eipix has taken over the series, ok fine they are good on their own & some others they took over but in this case they should have left well enough alone.
There were no cursed objects, only silver moons which made no sense, the parable figures were this cloudy morphing like thing that you had absolutely no idea what it was even after you clicked it cuz it looked like nothing but a blob. There was no real story or plot, there was no sense in this madness they made & put out as a DP.
I bought this game , the CE, when it first came out I struggled thru it then & hated it but DP Queen of Sands was a little better so I went back thru to play the series again cuz I got Goldilocks CE so I played the series thru until this game & I couldn't even bear to finish it cuz it just ticks me off it is so bad, so I figured I would leave a review about it & go on.
Anyway based on Queen of Sands & the fact they did do a little better job on that one I am hoping that Goldilocks is better & more to the earlier style of DP
I really think that Blue Tea should take back the series & redo Mermaid & the rest (even tho eipix is did redeem themselves somewhat w/ DP Queen) after this one cuz it needs to be done right & true to the style of earlier DPs cuz they were awesome & amazing & made sense
Don't waste money on this at all, skip it totally & here's hoping that they redo the mermaid & get rid of this mermaid
I don't recommend this game.

I have all the DD series & by far this is the best one. I have yet to finish the game but had to submit a review cuz it is done so much better then all the rest.
The mini games are great & the instructions for the most part are clear, the one game so far that took a while to figure out was the one where you have to move the ballerinas to the same side & can not cross different colors. The instructions say only can cross threads of same color, when it should say can only cross threads of same color as outfit, for example the yellow outfit can only cross the yellow line & so on.
The story line makes more sense then the last few ones I played, the game play is great, easy to follow & figure out what is going on & why & what & where ya should go.
I am glad they now have achievements & collections (the last few I have played has had them) & the HOS are still find & use to get a item needed, which is good.
The one thing I have found with most HO games is that they never can keep a lighter, knife, scissors or tool when it is gonna be needed thruout the whole game.
I think I have played only a few games where they were able to keep these things to use thruout, it makes sense to be able to keep them thruout the game unless they break but these one time use items that will be needed again needs to change
Anyway, again this is one of the best DD games in the series & I hope more are added to the series & they keep getting better like this one
I recommend this game!

I loved all the other Dark Tales & was looking forward to this one, my bad for thinking it would be a good one, it was not even close to be a good one.
This made no sense whatsoever, sure there were different mini games tho trying to figure them out was bad, tho they may have been good with the right or any instructions.
The story line made no sense, the bonus play made even less sense & the answer to who killed the girls & when & what the guy had to do with the main case & the first case & who killed who when & why
Really just a bad game all around, don't waste your money. The only reason level of challenge got an OK was cuz it was a challenge trying to figure out the instructions, where to go, what to do & keep playing the game when all I wanted to do was return it for my money back
Big disappointment
I don't recommend this game.

I don't know what happened here, the story line was awful, it didn't live up to all the other Midnight Mysteries. I was looking forward to playing it cuz all the other ones were awesome, but I couldn't finish it the 1st time nor months later when I came back to it.
It was awful.
The story line didn't make sense, the games didn't make sense, the words flashed for about 2 secs before they disappeared from the screen & the notes in the book didn't give you any idea as to what you should do.
Not sure if someone else took over Midnight Mysteries as was done with Dark Parables (the mermaid was awful tho at least I finished the game) but when & if some other developer did take over this one they need to keep with how the previous ones were especially if they were working well.
If there was a way to get money back or a free game due to being way past disappointed I would for this game & Dark Parables Mermaid cuz they are not worth the money.
Hope the next game in the series is better then this one & also I know I will be doing the trial version before I buy
I don't recommend this game.
