Step into the shoes of a Private investigator with short-term memory loss and uncover the shocking truth about his involvement with a serial killer called The Executioner.
i hate to be a negative review but in light of the 5 star ratings, this is another example of why I and I assume others as well have not liked some of the recent games offered. This one is BORING and NO FUN. The music is eerie in a creepy way and after ten minutes, I was done. Once I delete this game, my memory of this will be lost and I am glad.
Sorry to be a party downer with all the good reviews, but this latest game is nothing more than recycled ideas changed around to fit a different story. Again a missing person that needs to be found, a woof that needs to be chased away, someone that needs a hot beverage to calm down, and so forth. It is difficult to tell if this game is a children's game, an adult game, or somewhere in between. Ok, this time I did not need to find a flashlight and then batteries, all I needed to find is a glass jar and fireflies for light. Yawn! Very little creativity here.
I deleted this after 10 minutes. A lot of yak yak. No offense to women but this is a very female oriented game and I am not a woman and I cannot relate to this. Plus, it is boring with no interest to keep me playing. Especially trying on dresses. Not for me.
I read some of the poorer reviews and as a person that did buy the game, I am not sorry. It's different in music and attitude that go along with the characters. In some parts, it is like a sci fi spoof which I like. It makes it fun. Is this game a home run? No, but it is a triple. If you are so so on sci fi as a person, you may not care much for it. If you are more sci fi kind of person, I think it is worth trying. You probably will buy it as I did. Haven't finished it yet. I am going through it slowly and enjoying it as I go.
Others out there are better in depth reviewing then I am but suffice it to say, I can say this: this game is boring. After 30 minutes I quit. Here we go again, broken zipper, lantern for some light, pink fog, water and bucket to douse fire, but the worst is the narration of the main character. Over and over and over. I used to like Maria Glorum. Have her games but not this one. The characters are trying to be too cutezy. That is not a bad thing but can be over done. I have to agree with others, this is not CE worthy. There is one part where the chain to lift the gate breaks, oh good, I just happen to have a rope to get the job done. Boring. How about something creative like having to find 3 big men and convincing them to lift the gate. But because these are bad men, let the gate drop on them. Hey, there BAD. Why not? Better than pink fog.
There is nothing wrong with this game. On the other hand, there is nothing RIGHT with this game. There is no "fright" aspect or even caring as to what is going to happen. I loved subject 360 because it had all the right elements to keep my interest. Sadly, this one does not.Just before the demo ends, the female character tells the soul reaper, " I am not afraid of you." Neither am I or nether will you be.
I do not know if our reviews are read by or made known to the developers, but I must agree with some of the others in that as much as this game can be enjoyable, it is knocked down by so many dialog voice overs and this is a bit of too much, too much. Just my two cents.
This game's plot is unclear and the direction in which it flows is not well defined. First, it starts off with what appears to be a toy flying robot, and then later goes to a spaceship, and then goes to a moon that does not look like a moon. Spoiler alert: when you find the boy you are looking for, he turns into a werewolf. Sheesh! Makes no sense. Trial ends at this point and who cares?
After playing the demo I was not impressed. I own several mystery of the ancients games and even more games from Maria Glorum. My comment is not so much about the story line but it is time to up the game creativity by not having to find clock arms for a clock; screwdrivers for screws; wrenches for nuts, nuts for a rodent; batteries for a flashlight; keys for a car door; oil for something rusted, and last but not least, gloves for thorns in a plant. Been there and done that way too many times. There are a number of better mystery of the ancients games and I suggest seeking them out first over this one.
Every time a new Cadenza comes out, I get excited for I have the first and second: so far the best of the series. Alas, this next installment lacks the music, story line, and interest. This game is boring. The demo is short and when it finishes, it leaves you with a, "that's it?" Not that it needs to be longer, but if you don't care, you don't care. The music puts you to sleep somewhat. Wish I could give a better report, just not much to this game.
