It seems Casual Arts is the only company that still makes quality HO puzzle games without being primarily adventure games. Most makers left that still make games like this are producing cheap junk. This is not - and even though the characters were re-occurring from previous games, the settings were not. And unlike many it is worth getting the CE; as it has 8 bonus levels plus 42 bonus puzzles, and you can play in extreem mode where you must get all objects on a level . I am really happy I bought it.
It is hard to believe the other reviewer has played the same game as I am playing.
This is a great game -
I have been playing for 3 hours now - and according to the guide am about half way through,
The protagonist is a foreign agent meeting her guardian in an 19th century German steam punk village. Her guardian is then kidnaped by this engineer who is causing earthquakes, building robots and planning bad things.
With the help of your guardian's robot bird, you are out to save the day.
There are beautiful landscapes to get through, interesting villagers to interact with and mechanical marvels to assemble.
There are all types of HOP, fragmented and interactive, as well as list,
The map is interactive and allows for jumps. You have achievements to earn and robot bugs to collect.
I am having a delightful time, and thus highly recommend this game.

I loved this game. It didn't have a map, or a lot of extras, or great animation, or even voice overs. But, I give it a 5 because it was such a fun, happy game. There are no dead bodies, no monsters, no ghost, no evil genius destroying the world.
The main villain is a jealous teenage girl who plays a couple of mean tricks, but even she is shown as not so bad. None of the main characters are injured or even sad for very long.
It is romance, a love story. You spend part of the time from the perspective of the girl falling in love and being a bit heroic part, and part of the time from the perspective of the boy doing the same.
If you are like me and love (and am addicted to) HOPA games but are so tired of the scary, depressing themes of the majority of these games that are so psychically disturbing and focused on evil, you will love it too.

I have never wrote a review, but I had to recommend this one, simply because I buy a lot of these HOPA games (64 this year alone). I bought and played the CE of this game, and have already played it 3 times (I usually wait a year before re-playing), simply because this is the best I have played. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that they have a custom skill level mapping, so you can have no sparkles, but set the help button for only 15 seconds - or how ever else you want set up things.
These guys were really trying, and succeeded, in to coming up with original concepts and improving on the tried and true.
I had more fun with this game than any other HOG/Adventure game I have ever played
I found myself fishing knights out of moats with a big magnet hitched to a crane, nudging an oak tree’s brain back into its trunk so it could remember the password, sawing off a part of a rainbow, rounding up monkeys with bananas, catapulting crates onto pirate ships, rounding up butterflies to trade to ninja’s for kidnapped brides, building a wife for a snowman, helping a polar bear look more scholarly, cross dressing aliens, helping Juanita, the ostrich turn into a dragon (so her dragon husband won’t divorce her) , by catapulting her into volcanic lake, etc, etc, etc
It is a lighthearted joy. The 3D aspect may take some getting used to, but I you allow yourself 15 minutes or so at start of the game to fool around with the controls, you it will find it become very simple to navigate.
I did have problems with the custom cursor, though, it seemed to get stuck in the ‘tool’ mode, and so I switched to system cursor and had no problems.
With most in the genre being stuck in the horror melodrama themes, it was so great to find one game that was a lighthearted slapstick comedy.
Please, if anyone knows of any other good adventure/HOG’s that are not horror based, please recommend them to me. It was just so wonderful spending the last 5 hours playing without being exposed to the worst evils imaginable. I normally do not write reviews (and as you can tell I am very bad at it) but I felt I had to reach out to others who are like myself love this genre of gamming, that there is at least one game that will not give you nightmares.
