Pretty decent game despite bad reviews. Game play was fun, sufficiently challenging, and on par with several of the more favorably reviewed TM cooking games. However, game content was just way too short for a collector's edition. It felt as if the game was over right when I was getting warmed up! If they had about 2-3 more restaurants, with extra levels and/or challenges, I would have probably given this 5 stars. In all, game felt like it was a beta. If the developers will flesh this game out a little more in future releases, they might have a winner on their hands.
As it stands, not worth the collector's edition price tag. My advice is to wait until the standard edition comes out and use a free game coupon it you've got one.
I recommend this game!

This game is just okay. But I have to admit that I personally found it to be a huge disappointment...and definitely not worth the CE version. I'm a huge TM game fan and get excited when I see a new TM game released, which tends to be few and far between, so sadly, this seems a real waste.
I have to admit that I didn't initially care for the Alice series but warmed up to it with the 2nd release, which seemed more strategic with higher quality development. So I'm really confused as to what happened with the 3rd release!!
There is no strategy....just senseless chaos. The highest difficulty, which I always play on TM games when available, is ridiculously hard. I see no way to get 3 stars on all levels with this difficulty. However, the middle difficulty is super easy. I could probably get up and make a sandwich and still get 3 stars! I love a good challenge, but I don't want to waste my time on something that is literally impossible to beat at the hardest difficulty.
And the walkthrough completely baffled me. It's a confusing mess with no real direction or order to it. I felt like I needed a walkthrough to decipher the walkhrough! It sure didn't assist in getting gold.
The little mini-games consist of a puzzle (you have to find the pieces on each level) and 3 pictures you get to "paint" after collecting several art palettes that randomly appear during each level. They both seemed pointless and added no value to the game. In their defense, it was on the previous versions also, and I didn't care for them there either.
The visuals and music are great. It's the most positive thing I can attest to. But they need to concentrate on the game play too....I don't care if something is pretty if I don't enjoy playing it!!
Overall, it felt very thrown-together and rushed. I just don't know that they sufficiently QC'd this game prior to release.
I don't recommend this game.

Been waiting a long time for a new release in this series. Instant buy for me. This is one of the best games out there IMO!! Could play it for hours....and wish it never ended.
This is a relaxing adventure/strategy game, with only one click needed for most actions, as opposed to other games where you are constantly clicking and on a time limit. You can play this game at your own pace and save at any point. You have to forage, hunt, farm, fish, and/or purchase goods to make other goods or sell the items for gold. Different people in the villages give you missions to complete. There is always a good story line, and I absolutely love the visuals.
Only complaint is that it wasn't as long as previous versions and the items didn't respawn like they usually do, but that wasn't much of an issue since the game was so short. Also, seemed like it was a bit harder to accumulate gold...at least up until you're able to hunt. Still an excellent game and well worth the money/credit.
I recommend this game!

Take on the role of Emyr, probably the realm’s most famous hero. That is, until his career was destroyed by a dreadful wound. Now, Emyr works in the tavern.

Absolutely LOVED this game and hope they develop it into a series! Game play is almost identical to the Delicious: Emily series (serve food/products, achieve certain goals, and find rats), but the fantasy story line - which I normally skip - is much more interesting, IMO. It also has an adult feel and there are a few curse words, but it was actually very comical.
Music was excellent and fit the game theme perfectly. Visual quality is good - nothing spectacular, but I don't expect it to be on these types of games. Awards were all achievable throughout normal game play length, without glitches. It's also a plus that this was a standard edition!
The only negative thing I can say is that the level load times were a little longer than I typically like, but completely tolerable and worth the wait.
I recommend this game!

Almost passed up this little gem due to the bad reviews. Glad I took a chance, because it was a great, solid TM game! A 3 star average review is usually a pretty good indication that a game is a bad apple, but that is absolutely not the case with this one. If you purchase/play mostly TM games (as I do...almost exclusively), you should enjoy this game.
Pros: 100 levels!! Full disclosure, some of the earlier levels are ridiculously easy and over in a matter of seconds but many aren't, making for hours of game play. No glitches/bugs with game play or achievements. Challenging - you actually need to use strategy with this one (which might be the reason for the bad reviews). The resources/buildings available aren't always necessary to complete a level and sometimes the layout can be maze-like, meaning you really have to do some planning. There is no safety net if you don't complete a task or gather a resources at the right time. You will likely have to replay several levels to get 3 stars (Level 100 is quite a doozy). Not all levels are like this. It's a really good balance, so I did not find it frustrating, as I often do with some games. The game seems to have been well though out and not "sloppy" and random.
Cons: There was a persistent "BOOONNNGGG" sound every time I clicked on something that I didn't have enough resources to complete. I click on items constantly to see how much I need to complete them, but every time it would generate this awful noise!!!! It was extremely annoying! If it wasn't for the fact that I rely on sound to know when resources are ready, I would have turned the sound off. Achievements were pretty basic. As long as you complete the game, you'll earn all of them. I typically like achievements to be a little more challenging. Lastly, this game was not "collector's edition" good. It was good, but definitely should have been a standard edition. Luckily, I got it during the sale this weekend, so I don't mind, but would have been upset if I paid full price.
I recommend this game!

Excellent game! Very pleased with the game play, sound quality, difficulty...everything. Most importantly NOOOOO glitches..yay! You're able to complete all levels with 3 stars and earn all the achievements with no hang ups. They must have actually done a quality control check on this one.
Love the fact that there are different difficulties. Although I typically play in "hard" mode, I think this will also appeal to those who like an easier, less stressful pace.
I don't normally care much about the music, unless it's super annoying, but this music was decent. Of note, I particularly loved the dramatic music that played during the battle scenes. Oddly, I found it kind of cute. Probably not what they were going for, but it made me smile every time. lol
The levels were challenging, in that there were several I had to replay to get 3 stars. I like that you had to use a little strategy to make it. It was challenging, but not frustratingly so...just enough to make you feel like you accomplished something. A lot of TM games are too hard or too easy, but this was just the right combination for me.
Also thrilled that this wasn't a collector's edition. In fact, it's better than most collector's editions I've bought recently!
I recommend this game!

Absolutely love this game series, and this newest version is no exception. It's a seemingly simple concept/design, which is often referred to as a point and click adventure or strategy game. I don't understand why there aren't tons of these games out there!!!!
You have to collect and sell resources in villages/areas to earn food, gold, or materials for creating weapons, fishing implements, potions, cooking devices, etc. Weapons can be bought or created (later in the game) to hunt for food, fight demons, etc. You have to complete various missions, with the ultimate goal of saving the land from an invasion by demons/orcs and the Earthquaker. You are eventually given a map that can help you navigate the kingdom. It's very casual. Sometimes the resource collection can be repetitive, but you can do it at your leisure, so it makes up for it. Resources do respawn, so no worries if you need more of an item; keep playing and it will pop up again eventually. Luxury items (e.g., pearls) do take longer, as can be expected.
Have to admit, the storyline and design got a bit cheesy when it got to the "Earthquaker" (you'll see) - almost childish/cartoonish - but it's my only complaint.
Tips (since BF did away with the forums for game tips): you can continue to play after you beat the final enemy; however, it seemed to me that the re-spawns are much slower afterwards. If you're one who likes to get all of the achievements like me, then try to get any achievements that rely on resource collection before you complete the final battle. Oh, and start catching fish with hooks early on to get the golden fish achievement by the end of the game. Lock picking is also something that can take awhile, so start on that as soon as you have ability (middle of the game). Chests respawn also.
I recommend this game!

Always a big fan of this series, and this particular installment is everything a TM game should be! Challenging on normal mode, but not so challenging that it isn't fun. Typically don't care about the stories, normally just click through them, but what I did read was well-written and often humorous. Most importantly, to me anyway, there were no glitches, and all of the achievements were reasonable and actually recognized when they were achieved. Note: This is a big problem I've experience recently in other TM games; made all the more annoying by the fact that BF no longer has a forum for gamers to share tips and tricks.
Only complaint, and reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars, is that there was no multi-click option. I like to plan ahead and found lack of this function a tad frustrating. Still a great game, though!!
I recommend this game!

Finally!! I've been waiting so long for a good TM with a perfect balance of difficulty and fun....that isn't rife with glitches. The developers definitely hit a home run with this game. Same game play/background as Adeltanado, but much better IMO. Love the freedom to construct as many buildings as you like, anywhere you please (so long as space allows). Resources are automatically collected, so you don't have to click a million times and can actually focus on the goals. Levels are challenging, but not so hard that you can't get gold, and not so easy that you just breeze through the game. Only complaint is that I wish there would have been more levels!!!
I recommend this game!

I was really enjoying this game, but I beat it in a little over an hour....it ended very abruptly to boot! If I had known it was so short, I would have saved my credit. Had a lot of potential, but needs to be much longer!!
This isn't a traditional TM game; it's more of a strategy game. You set up huts, barracks, gold mines, etc. on an island in order to start collecting resources so you can purchase soldiers to fight the bad guys.
Also noticed that when the tasks popped up, it wouldn't recognize if you had already completed those task. This was annoying, because you are really limited on island space. For instance, if you had already progressed and built 5 mines, and a task pops up requiring you to build/upgrade 3 mines, you have to build/upgrade 3 additional mines to complete the task. Due to limited space, you may have to delete some things that you've already built to build the mines.
I don't recommend this game.
