this game is awesome! music fits, everything is themed, requires thinking. This time around there were a lot more bushes to whack - which was good as it meant i could do things while waiting. Such a long game and very satisfying to finish a level. I did however notice that this time the levels were quite easy - e.g. didn't have to rush to make expert time. I can't wait for the 3rd book!
Improvements could be: allowing buildings to rotate. creating more secret areas with resources e.g. wood deposits making it a bit more challenging or allowing levels to be completed in a alternative way or, having roll over resources to choose what resources you want to take into the next level.
I recommend this game!

Based on demo: Awesome game, seems like a huge world map, requires thinking and memory and has interesting characters. The unlimited inventory is great - means that you are picking up a lot of things and have mystery as to why. I like that there aren't many cut scenes. I like that it has some mild adult themes in it (as in it is designed for adult players, not kids). and I like that it has many tasks running at once - so no limits on order etc. I am going to buy.
I recommend this game!

Not much more needs to be said - nice clear display, interactive statues which makes the story-line relevant, objects to be used make sense (that really frustrates me in other games when you already have a tool in your inventory that would be able to do a job but can't use it as it's not what the game wants), there is variation in puzzles and finally I like that although it is not cartoony, they haven't tried to blend in 'real scenes using actors' - just kept it in the same style for all cut scenes and game play scenes. Furthermore, the cut scenes are short, not dragged out and the music is well placed/minimal.
I recommend this game!

I wanted to like this game. To be fair I only played first 10mins of demo. Two reasons why I quit: 1) It bored me and was extremely slow (cut scenes and tool use) and it was predictable in terms of the little challenges. 2) The comments running along the top didn't fit with the information I had actually received. For example when zooming in on an area it would say "i could use this Y to get rid of X".. when I hadn't even come across X yet.
Maybe if I had played the whole thing my opinion would have improved, but I really couldn't go on playing - and it isn't often that I don't give a game a fair chance!!
I don't recommend this game.

This was such a nice story, I liked that it tells you when an area is clear. It was good in that you had to collect 'wanted posters' which are optional, but are a nice way to tie into story and give additional challenge. This is also true of the archery competitions. NEGATIVE: I found that the mini games and hidden object scenes were super easy. I am not sure what their target audience is (hence 5 stars - i would like to give 4 1/2), however if they made a more challenging game with same kind of quirky story where you still have to help people (little quests) then I think it would be perfect! Regardless of the difficulty level I still found this game entertaining and enjoyed the interaction with other characters as well as the story.
I recommend this game!

I love this game, it may not have the most beautiful art, or the most tricky puzzles, or scary scenes, but it is just right: a) The tools you find/use are logical, e.g. you aren't frustrated by trying to use your knife and getting told its not right, only to find some scissors that are right etc. like in some games. b) the story line is great - easy to follow, makes sense, you know approx where you are in the game, e.g. how many more 'chapters/pearls' c) it is a very generous length, not so long that you forget where things are, but long enough that it is worth the money you pay d) the mini games are all different types and are not major challenges - with skips allowed
Therefore, if you want an easy playing game, with a story line that is interesting and has varied mini games, pick this one - It won't disappoint. I didn't mind having no map - i thought it added to the challenge level of the game (memory etc). The only improvement I would suggest is to get some good voice actors - all the dialogue in this game is just written, not spoken. Otherwise was awesome! Thanks.
I recommend this game!

I really didn't like this game. Downside: I found the story line confusing, couldn't follow it and the notes held far too much useless information, for a casual hidden object/adventure game. I also found that it was either extremely challenging mini games or super easy (e.g. simply placing glass tiles in a picture). I got to just over 30% through it and decided i had had enough. Also i felt sometimes that the layout of rooms was weird, e.g. pressing an up arrow to go back into a room that you had just left. I did appreciate the thought, work and detail that went into this game, it just isn't for me. Didn't hold my interest and i'm rather gutted I payed for this game.
Upside: if you know bits about literature you might like it and the graphics were good, as were the sound effects. Quite spooky sounds at times. It certainly isn't a mindless story line if you were actually interested in it.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm sure this game has a great story line etc, however i couldn't stand how long everything takes, e.g. the unlocking of doors, the cut scenes, just the general pace of the game. I also didn't like that a lot of the screen play's don't allow for close ups - and the cursor is so big that you click on a large area that says all the same hints. - gives it a very simple theme rather than detailed. I stopped playing after 15mins. maybe if i had played for longer I may have gotten into it, however I was bored.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't often play adventure games because I find they are very predictable in terms of picking up an object then using it. However, this game is different in that you can choose a difficulty setting that has no hints available at all and at times requires you to really think and remember where objects can be used. This game kept me entertained for hours and made full use of my short term memory!! It also has many different types of mini puzzle challenges. Perhaps the only downfall is that there is no 'notes' or diary type book to store information in (even if it was just to write my own notes in to help with remembering things). But then again, if this option was available then the game may have been to easy. I felt like this game was really worth the money i paid for it. and highly recommend others to try it.
