It has been a very long time. Thank you for raising the bar this high, this is the first game in a year or better that became a must buy for me while still playing the demo. All the reviews you see are accurate, this really is that good of a match 3 game. Download it, play it, if you don't buy it I'll be amazed.
They got this one right! While all of the cursed house games are good as match 3's go, the developers added some extras this time around, and the hints can be easily turned off for a completely decent level of challenge. Hooray!
Very refreshing to see that something in it's 8th rendition can be something more than just another rehash of the old. Good job guys.
Don't be fooled by the first 20 or so levels of this, that's just the tutorial portion to show you the game mechanics. It gets PLENTY hard shortly thereafter. At the end of the hour trial, I had just finished the first screen of 25 levels. After another hour or so I'm nearly through the 2nd, and am completely hooked on the game.
It looks like there are a total of 6 worlds, each consisting of 25 levels, so at the end of the trial you're about 1/6 of the way through the game. Its a beautiful puzzler with everything done just about perfectly. Great break from the usual fare found on here, there actually isn't much not to like if you're into puzzle/physics games. Thumbs up from here.
This game is very similar to the Laruaville and Spellarium series of games, and this particular one is actually a bit too easy for me. While I do like the game play itself, it would be a lot more fun if I wasn't constantly reminded of what I needed to do next. PLEASE, developers... I get it already... add an option to turn that automatic hint "feature" off!! It becomes an over the top annoyance the further you get into the game, and detracted from my ability to give the game more than 3 stars.
That aside, there's a bit of strategy involved, and its fun to do what you need to do, but I cleared almost every level in 2 to 5 minutes. We really don't need the constant reminders of what to do next or powerups that happen for no reason other than to get us through the levels even faster yet.
I'll recommend the game if you're a fan of the rest of the series of this type, and only with the above in mind.
I've tried them all, and this is the only Jewel Match game (including several much newer ones like Royale and Twilight) that worked flawlessly on my Windows 7 64-bit PC from start to finish with zero issues, and I'm very glad it did, because this game was a joy to play. Bought it after finishing the trial 11 days ago, and just now finished all the bonus levels after playing off and on in my spare time.
The story line doesn't do anything for me, I quick clicked over all the dialogue, but the game play sure does. I found it to be just the right amout of difficulty, challenging near the end without being ridiculous, and always looked forward to the next time I could take it on and try to complete it. Now that I have, I'm going to give it a rest for a bit, and definitely come back for another run when I've got a few days to kill.
Worth a trial, don't let the age of the game keep you away... this is one of the good ones. Thumbs up from here.
After level 30, everything just kind of stops, and the remaining levels shown are "coming soon". There is no end of game sequence. Seeing as this game is copyrighted 2015, good luck on seeing those ever appear. To be fair, getting to and clearing level 30 was enough of a challenge to make it worth the while.
The good: It's a physics game that appeals to my inner geek, and it didn't get difficult until level 11. At that point, you're going to need to turn on your brain and do a few replays to get through some of them. Each of the 30 levels has 5 "sections" - when you get to the 5th, the goal is to not have any leftover balls fall down to the monster, to get your 3 stars. Good luck with that, especially later on.
The bad: Music always on (fortunately I have speakers with a volume knob), no way to create a profile, no way to reset the whole magilla and start over from scratch once you finish the game, at least not that I can see.
Overall: Worth a free credit or a couple bucks to kill an evening or two. Recommended, but only with all of the above in mind.
I found both Chicken Attack and Chicken Attack Deluxe by total accident on here within the last week or two, and am very glad I did. They are both hidden gems, and I'm sorry it took me this long to find them. Excellent old school breakout here, with humor too - what's not to like about a chicken with a weapon? After finishing the original, I ended up buying Deluxe as well about halfway through it's trial, because one just wasn't enough. These are both challenging, well-designed, and just plain fun breakout action games that keep you coming back for more. So refreshing to find these on Bigfish!
Made it to level 41, where I stopped to write this... yes, it's that easy early on. It does get tougher after you get to around level 30 or so, which is where you will finally have to replay a level or two.
I didn't want to like this game, as the graphics are way old school for 2017, but I gave it a chance and actually it isn't that bad. Will I buy it? Time will tell - still have 15 minutes of that demo left! If you like the 1 up one down variety of solitaire, give it a shot. At worst, you've blown an hour of your life.
This game very much reminds me of a super polished version of an old game I really liked on here named "Emerald Tale". The game mechanics are very similar, but the sound and graphics are miles better, I bought it instantly. There are just over 60 levels to play as I recall (finished it a few hours ago, and the exact number eludes me)... it took me two pretty full days of spare time to get through the whole thing.
Also checked Claws & Feathers 1 and 2, and they're just as good - well worth looking at if you're into this one. Bottom line, if you like some strategy and puzzle tossed into the mix of your match 3 to make you think a bit, you could do a lot worse. Thumbs up from me.
Played out the hour demo, and got to level 23 of 252. There's nothing new or unusual here, and it's very likely to remind you of a game you played several years back, but it kept me playing until the demo ended. The first thing to go was the annoying, repetitive music - after turning that off, I had no problem burning the demo time. Doubt I'd actually purchase this game, but I could see myself tossing a free chip at it sometime, the hour went by pretty quick. Worth a demo, see what you think...
