Pros:-
:o) * 10 Long Chapters + Conclusion.
:o) * Game saves when you exit.
:o) * Secrets are hidden in other places apart from the usual bushes and trees.
:o) * Buildings can be demolished and give you a small amount of wood in return.
:o) * Buildings can actually be renewed instead of demolished by restoring their efficiency.
:o) * You can take as long as you want to to complete a level so you can look here, there and everywhere at your leisure but it pays to respond to the few attacks on your buildings as soon as the attacker's picture appears in the top left corner.
Cons:-
:o( ... There are still cavemen attacks.
:o( ... There are now dinosaur attacks too.
Even though I am only halfway through this game I am eagerly awaiting Book III.
I recommend this game!

I LOVE IT ... so the graphics aren't quite as good as the old style building games like Caesar 3 but they are certainly good enough for my old eyes to have no problems with and this game didn't cost as much as they did either. I personally think this is excellent value for the money and I would love more games like this please.
I can't comment on the music because I prefer none while I am playing these type of games as I like to concentrate on what I am doing ... I actually count squares so that everything lines up exactly where I want it to LOL.
There are two things I don't like, one is that I just lost my level progress when I exited the game but that could have been because I hadn't done enough to make it worthwhile saving. The second is the villa that you build with the points you earn for each level, I would have preferred a sandbox level but perhaps there is one at the end of the game as this review is based on playing only half.
I recommend this game!

When you start this game there is an awful lot of reading to do and the grammar and spelling are ... ahem .. not the best in the world and initially you are told exactly what to do and a lot of people are put off by this but I say persevere at least to the end of the demo because I did and I am very glad that I did.
The gameplay is very similar to Island Castaway in that you have to fulfill different quests for different people and your energy needs to be restored by regular food and rest.
As you progress on your journey following your father's kidnappers, each new place appears on your map and you can jump from one place to another with just a click of the mouse.
You can carry a HUGE amount of inventory items but you will need to sell some as you will require gold coins so look out for buildings which have a sack hanging over them, you just have to find the right one according to what you want to sell.
Some of these items can be found lying about the map and, be warned, they are miniscule LOL but once you know what you are looking for they seem to stand out and my old eyes didn't have a problem spotting them.
The length of the game is excellent I have been playing most of the day and just when I thought I was getting close to the end I was given another load of quests to fulfill.
It did fill my widescreen and I left the music on playing quietly in the background.
I recommend this game!

I love everything about this game such as ...
* I love the storyline because it is about building a thriving settlement
* I love the clarity of the graphics, the style of which really suits the game
* I love seeing all the bright colours used
* I love the cute little touches that have been given to the characters
* I love trading to earn the money to build and then upgrade everything
* I love the fact that knowledge is acquired a lot quicker than in certain other games of this type ;o).
* I love that they will feed themselves when hungry
* I love that once set a task they will continue
* I love that the timers (which are only in the quests) are generous enough so that even using my arthritic hands I can manage to complete them in time to earn the bonuses.
* I love that I surprised myself and managed to defeat all the pirates that I have come across on three different occasions.
Most of all
* I love that you get so many more hours of pleasure for your money.
It is a fantastic game and I hope the devs make more like it.
I recommend this game!

Although I haven't quite completed the game yet I wanted to say that the more I play this game the more I like it. While I enjoy searching mansions and finding hidden rooms the best part of the game for me is the puzzles, some of which have a twist to them making them a bit different to the standard ones.
The HO scenes are more interesting to do than normal junkpile ones as some of the objects are so cleverly hidden as to be invisible at first glance. I also like that there is no click penalty in these scenes.
The graphics are reasonably good being bright and clear and I really appreciate the use of all the different colours and the fact that each scene doesn't have a blue or brown colourwash over it.
Seymour's voice is good and the fact that he doesn't want me investigating while I am collecting those antiques is intriguing so I am off to finish playing.
I would have preferred to give 3.1/2 stars for the last two categories.
I look forward to more games from this developer.
I recommend this game!
