Played 1,5 hours of it and had ton of fun. I usually don't like stories with some paranormal and evil characters who wants to ride the world etc, but this time it looks interesting, and also the story about people like monster.
I love little white doggy as a hint, he/she is so cute! There are only 3 hidden object scenes, but they are so nice and interesting. It differs of usually HO scenes in other games.
Judging by achievements section, that game was already planned until the end, but something went wrong...
Last update of that beta is 3rd of June 2015. And more interesting, in game files there are other locations after the beta, some concepts and raugh drawings... The game definitily was in active development, and we should see full version!
I don't know what happened... that's so sad. Owl Hidden Classics closed, go bankrupt or something else? Ugh. Hope that someday we will finally get that game in Collectors Edition.
For players: you can freely go to the game folder and watch all the files, they are opened. (dataFrankenstein - Locations).
I really like that game, seriously. It has some minor bugs, but it has some charm.
I really love detective stories, especially when almost all new hidden objects games on Big Fish includes some paranormal, supernatural and sometimes illogical world elements, and I don't like it, to be honest. So, that time it's a detective story, and I like it so much. But unfortunately, creators added some rave in story (near the end with all victim plans), and that part I don't like at all. What was the sense to add such a strange meaningless things, I don't know, I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to say.
It's not almost pure detective story, eh. But still, bonus chapter is full detective, that's nice.
I love the story overall, but some moments make me fun. I can't say because of spoilers, but... Well, I give you a hint.
- Oh, Ms. Holmes, let's work together, I didn't know that he stealed the kid. I have the principles, you know, I'd never work with him if I knew... - Oh, so, you tried to kill me, and that's OK, but when someone stealing a kid, you have principles?
Well, you know... what? I laughed so much.
The search for items is very pleasant, not annoying and quick. For some reason, many players love challenge, but I hate it. I love to find items simply and easily. And I really do not like it when you need to break my eyes in attempts to find an object.
The mini-games are also pleasant, one of them was very annoying, however, and I had to watch the passage. This is the latest mini-game at the end of the standard game.
The game is quite short, there are only 24 locations (16 in the regular game and 8 in the bonus part). But I really enjoyed spending time in it. I think it was not in vain that I bought it. The game has a total of 13 hidden object scenes and 12 mini-games.
All achievements, morphing objects and figurines are very easy to get thanks to the built-in walkthrough where they are all indicated. Just remember to look into it as you progress.
The whole game takes 2 hours, which is really not enough. I hope the next part will be longer.
And yes, I hope that Elephants Games will create even more cool and good games with an adequate, interesting plot (and not all this with ghosts, curses and saving the world, ugh).
So, I recommend this game on sale.
I look forward to the second part about five orange seeds.
That's the 3rd part of Haunted Hotel series, continuation of "Believe the Lies". Yeah, you should play previous chapter, otherwise you won't understand anything.
Well, you can understand, so... that terrible plot. Seriously, I don't like the story at all. And every time when I though "finally, it's the end"... that's not the end. The game continues... and so on... again and again. No... no, just no! Please, let that game "die" already and ends, but with every new location and plot holes we go to another brilliant logicless adventure. Enjoy!
You think the object became more clearly to visible and not so tiny? Hah... You are wrong. They are the same as always, not more than your mouse cursor. Thanks for point and click gameplay, finally it appears in 3rd part. But the terrible story only irritates you, and I didn't get any fun of walkthrough.
Thanks, tragedy trilogy finally ended, and we can enjoy newer and more great parts of game.
If you want to complete it just for "achievement" completing all Haunted Hotel series, I will pray for you. It will be really difficult, but you can! JUST DO IT!

Well, I just don't know what to say. Reviewing old games in "Haunted Hotel" series is... really painful. Completing them too.
To be honest, you can finish that game just in a bit more than 1 hour. If you search objects really fast, you know. But with this game you just CAN'T search objects fast. Because they are too little, even cursor of mouse bigger than them! What a terrible game for your eyes!
I don't like that game and I was really happy that I ended it, because I really want to complete every part of "Haunted Hotel" series, because I love latest installments, but not first 3 parts by Specialbit developer. Well, "Charles Dexter Ward" (4th part) is a lot better by them, but since 5th part it goes to Elephant Games developer, so... no sequel of story, that's sad.
But goes to 2nd part, Believe the Lies. Well... believe the reviews, ahaha. Thank, guys, you warned me, I won't play that game anymore.
It's buggy, guys, really! Hammer in inventory disappeared, and I can't crush mystical sphere. Oh, bugs in such an easy game for development, really? Oh, guys, poor guys... Specialbit, you created that game because some bad people treated you to shoot your heads if you won't do that? If so, I'm really sad. That's really terrible.
Plot is zero. I don't understand anything, and still we should play 3rd part "Lonely Dream" for finishing the story.
It's better than 2nd part, but still not for me. Yeah, if you compare this to first part, it's better because of various mini games and, finally, nice cut-scenes. But that's ALL.
Everything other is terrible, including strange graphic and little little object that you need to break your eyes for finding.
