This was a very enjoyable game, mainly due to the story line. It was neat learning about all the inventions way back to the first boat or the first bread. It was a little hard to get started but once you figured out the structure of the game, it was easy to follow. I know there is a special name for this kind of HO game, because pictures are used instead of the names of the objects, but in this case, it was a perfect fit with the general atmosphere. The scenes themselves were challenging, as proved by my incorrect clicking percent. That was another thing I liked about the game, the status report on how you did after each invention. About the only thing I didn't like was the refueling game, but just because I'm no good at that particular type of puzzle. All in all, a great game that I may be tempted to play again. I will definitely get the other game in this series.
I recommend this game!

Very enjoyable game. A very straight forward progression with no back and forth that would have frustrated me. No repetition of HOS and these scenes were challenging enough to hold my interest but not so difficult to irritate me. The story line was consistent. I didn't play with sound but the graphics were great. All in all a nice, relaxing game. Hope the sequel will be available soon.
I recommend this game!

This is the worst game I've ever played. It isn't even good enough for kids. There are absolutely no graphics; the characters are no better than stick figures with a photo for the head. Pocahontas is more pale than any of the palefaces in the game. There are misspelled words in the story line and the story line does not do justice to this amazing woman. John Smith is so ugly and old, no young female would take a second look at him. The HOS where the same time after time, regardless of whether the location was Jamestown or London. A total waste of time. This game shouldn't even be offered anymore.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was an enjoyable romp and a welcome change from the doom and gloom of most HO games. The HOS were different as there wasn't a list of things to find, but rather silhouettes of items for which you needed to find the pieces. I only had to use the walk through a couple of times to get past some points that escaped me. The story line was very entertaining and lead into the sequels smoothly. I had to laugh at the Barbie-esk dimensions of the female protagonist, which made me think there was a lot of male programmers for this game. The male protagonist also seemed to be a card-carrying member of the DADD group (Dads Against Daughters Dating). All in all a light-hearted, enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
I recommend this game!

Although this game's story line may seem a little juvenile, the game itself was very enjoyable. There wasn't too much back and forth, the HOS and mini-games were not too hard but hard enough, and the story line flowed well. Not a real challenging game, but a relaxing and enjoyable time spent playing. I think the voices were excellent.
I recommend this game!

Since there are already over 140 reviews of this game, I will keep mine simple but not necessarily short.. Two things I liked about this game; the hints were excellent in telling you what your next step should be, and you could use the map to move from one place to another without having to use the arrows in the scenes. The map was especially important, as this game bounces you all over the place, hither, thither and yon, which is one of my pet peeves about games. You would get an inventory item, but would not need it until 2 more hours into the game. Or, you would need an inventory item and not get it until 2 hours later. I like games that follow some logical sequence, not just random scenes in no particular order. I was so frustrated by the back and forth that I didn't play the bonus. As for the story line, how many ways can you tell a werewolf story? I also didn't like any of the voices in the game. And because of all the bouncing around, it was way too long. If you like a game where you don't know where you are half the time and don't know where to go next without a hint, then this game is for you. For me, it gave me a headache.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a great game. The story line was excellent and the game flowed well. There wasn't too match going back and forth to get inventory items and game pieces. I did not have to use the strategy guide or the walk through. The HOS were clear and always had one or two items that required a lot of hunting or the use of a hint. I don't think I had to skip any of the mini-games, but then, there weren't any of the kind that I take one look at and skip immediately. The game held my interest the entire time. The only thing was, when I finished it, it said I qualified for extra play, but I wasn't able to figure out where to go to do that. No biggie. If you have a choice between the standard version of a game and the collector's edition, I would recommend that you always go with the collector's edition. This one was great, and I've already purchased the other one in this series.
I recommend this game!

This was a great game. Excellent story line, great graphics, relevant mini-games. The awards were a neat addition. There wasn't too much back and forth, which drives me crazy in other games. I did not have to refer to the walk through/strategy guide which is another big plus for me. I also got enough awards to be eligible to play the additional material, and it followed the story line perfectly. It made a great extension of the original game. The HOS's were clear and not too difficult. There was a good mixture of mini-games. All in all, an A+ game.
I recommend this game!

By no stretch of the imagination can this be called a HO game. Not sure exactly what you would call it; maybe an adventure game. Regardless of what it was supposed to be, the sinking of the Greek ships sunk the game for me. After trying for several hours, I left it for the next day, gave it one more try, then uninstalled it. There is no way to skip this mini-game and it is not worth all the time needed to finally get it right, if you ever do. The game was sort of interesting, kind of different at the beginning, but I sure wasted a lot of time on it that I could have used having more fun with a different game.
I don't recommend this game.

This is the best game I've played so far. I loved every part of it. Great story line, excellent puzzles, lots of HOS. But what impressed me most was the quality of the hints. When I wasn't sure where to go next, the hint actually told me where to go, instead of just giving a canned response of "nothing left to do here". This was a great help and I did not have to use the walk through or strategy guide at all. The game was so good, I played it all night and could hardly wait to get back to it. Hope I can find more games this good.
I recommend this game!
