I played the entire game, including the bonus chapter, on the middle level of difficulty. Both the game and the extra chapter ended with the indication that additional action would be forthcoming.
This game was good and long and had a lot of variety of puzzles in it. It also had achievements that could be won based on accomplishing certain tasks. There was a map, but at the difficulty level I played, it did not add a lot to the game, other than to give you a visual idea of how many times you had to back out and go left or right to get to the next action area. I used the hint button a lot to get me to the next action area, which is very time consuming and frustrating and one of my pet peeves for games that are designed like this. The mini games were not that challenging, if you could figure out what to do in the first place; the instructions for some of them left a lot to be desired.
I did not play with sound, but did have the voice overs audible. They weren't that good and the moving lips weren't in sync which was distracting. My favorite character was the gardener and my least favorite was the brother, a real wimp.
I recommend this game!

This game did not end with the evil forces being vanquished, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I was definitely rooting for the underdog, no pun intended.
I played under the middle difficulty mode. I will probably never play a game where I can't skip the puzzles, as I am just not good at certain kinds. The game was long and required a lot of back and forth as seems to be normal in these kinds of games. I didn't figure out until the very last part of the extra chapter that the map could be used to quickly move from location to location instead of doing all the downs and overs and ups, etc. Sure would have saved me a lot of time if I had figured that out at the beginning. But I usually skip the tutorials, and it might have been covered in that.
The hint button was very helpful; not once did I get a generic message like "nothing more to do here, go somewhere else", the kind of message which frustrates me to no end. The puzzles were interesting and none of the HOS were repeats.
The extra chapter got off to a kind of confused start, but was a great addition and made the CE worth the extra money. It fit nicely into the storyline of the main game and was pretty long.
This game is a good example of what a CE should be like.
I recommend this game!

This is by far the best of this 3-game series. Thankfully, there were very few spot-the-difference scenes and many more HOS, which should be since it is advertised as a HO game. The game was somewhat harder than the previous two games. The pop-up for extra hints was finally slowed down to the point that I was actually able to click on it to get the extra points. I had to refer to the walk-through once, when I couldn't figure out how to start one of the mini games. And I used a lot of hints on some of the darker scenes and when I got inpatient, which is one of my problems when playing games.
All in all a good game.
I recommend this game!

This game was better than the first one in this 3-part series, the Nefertiti one. The HOS are a little harder so is more challenging, but the mini games are still pretty easy. Again, there is a preponderance of spot-the-differences but more HOS have been added since the first game.

Even on the hard mode, this game was extremely easy. 99% of the puzzles were "find the differences" and the mini games were no challenge at all. I hope the other 2 games in this series are better.
I don't recommend this game.

Most of the time, this game was fairly easy to move through. I would go along for awhile, but then hit a wall where I couldn't figure out what to do next, so I would have to refer to the strategy guide. Thankfully, it was built into the game, which made it very easy. Games that have the strategy guide built in are awesome.
My pet peeve with games is having to go backwards and forwards and sideways to find the next active play area. Sometimes the items in inventory would give you a clue, but not always. Games like these really need a map. At one point I was totally stuck and had to go to the forums to find that lots of other people had had the same problem. Luckily, there was a player who found the solution and kindly posted it in the forum.
There were lots of HOS throughout the game, which is very nice as that is the reason I buy HO games in the first place. The HOS were not too hard, although I did have to use the occasional hint, only because I tend to be impatient.
There was a good variety of mini games, some of which I had to skip because I couldn't figure them out. For mini games, I'd rather skip them than go to the strategy guide to get the solution.
The only thing negative I can say about the strategy guide was that the pictures were really too small to see the details/solution. However, the narrative was usually good enough to get you going again.
The bonus chapter for completing the game was one of the best I've ever played. Lots of content and a great ending to the game.
All in all, a great game.
I recommend this game!

This game was very short and very easy, except for some of the items in the HO scenes that were very, very small. The game is very linear, which I liked, and lead you to each step. There was no guess work involved.
There were no mini games per se, but there were other "tasks" that weren't HO scenes that might count as such.
The title of my review says it all.

This game had a lot of regular HO scenes as well as fractured object scenes, where you have to find the parts of pictures of the objects. This was a nice way to hold your interest in the game.
However, this game is guilty of one of my pet peeves; having to go backward and sideways and forward over and over again to get to the active play areas. This game does not have a map to help, and the hints were the generic kind: "Nothing more to find in this scene", etc. However, this was not always true, as I found out in one scene where I needed to open a safe, yet the hint said there was nothing to "find". Perhaps the hint meant exactly that: nothing to "find", but not necessarily nothing to "do". This weakness in the hints made it necessary for me to refer to the walk through at times to find the next active area.
The story line was weak but did not particularly detract from the game.

This game is a lighthearted fantasy with lots of action to keep your interest. This is the second game in this series that I have played and I will definitely get all of them.
I know there is a special word for the kind of HO game this is, but I can't remember it. It is the kind of game where you find pieces of items to complete the picture, and then use the item in the game.
The hint button was excellent and I used it a lot to navigate between active areas of the game, and occasionally to find that last piece of the HO. I only had to refer to the walk through once, which is a further indication of how good the hint button worked.
Very nice change of pace from the darker, more sinister games.
I recommend this game!

The story line was interesting and followed through the whole game smoothly.
At times, the scenes were pretty dark, as would be expected in a game like this. The mini games were varied and there were enough HO scenes to keep the game interesting.
This is the type of game that tends to be a pet peeve of mine; too much backwards and forwards, but in this case, the other positives outweighed this particular flaw. It would have benefited from a map, specifically one where you could use it to go to the next active area.
Not an outstanding game, but one that I was happy with when I finished it.
I recommend this game!
