This is a great game, if for nothing else, it: - Isn't a fairy tale - It is set in fairly modern times - there aren't any cute critters to help you.
What a relief!!!
I have only played the demo so far, but that was enough to convince me that this is a buy for me. It is well produced using live actors whose lips are actually synced to the words. I love the setting - an old, beat-up motel in a Kansas cornfield ( there's not much else in Kansas.) The story is good and creepy. (I didn't see any animal cruelty, so I don't know what some other comments are referring to.) Game play, so far, is good.
This looks like a really fun game that I am anxious to play completely.
This is very poorly produced game with many errors including grammar. There are mechanical problems, too - things don't always work as they should, and many times you have to do things in an exact order that isn't always apparent. Very poor design. The artwork is the same as all games from this developer and is OK. VOs are poor. Music is so-so. The story is dumb and ends abruptly. The bonus chapter completes the story - something I hate - but one wishes that they hadn't bothered. Game play is OK with varied HOS - IA, words, pictures, etc. Puzzles are OK. The HINT button works well for the most part, but does mess up on occasion. There is an informative jump map. There are easy-to-find collectibles and achievements, and the usual wallpaper, etc. I looked at some of the other reviews, and a lot of them are based on the demo only. Don't be fooled. This game is a stinker and is certainly not worth the CE price.
I'm amazed that some have rated this game so highly. They must have played a different game than I did, because I think this is one of the most poorly produced games I have seen in a long time. Everything is amateurish - story, artwork, game play, music, everything. Completely lacking in enjoyment. Don't waste your money on this dog.
This is a very well produced game. The live actors blend well into the scenes (not just dummies standing there as in some games) and their lips move with the words. The story is good and is well told, although I thought the spider towards the end was poor. It didn't make any sense and was completely unnecessary. Game play is good with good HOS and puzzles. The HINT button works well, and there is an informative jump map. There is an SG, but it isn't needed. I would give this game five stars as an SE, but not as a CE. As with most CEs, it isn't worth the CE price. There are some dumb collectibles, a waste in my opinion, and achievements. The bonus chapter looks like it was produced by the B-team, very short and very stupid. I highly recommend this game but only as an SE.
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
This is the most creative game I have ever played. It's almost like being in the middle of a Disney movie. Really clever plot, characters and actions. I found myself laughing a lot. Thoroughly enjoyable. Game play is well-designed, too - good, innovative puzzles and HOS. The HINT button works well, and there are achievements for those who like that sort of thing. I'll be playing this one again just to enjoy the experience.
This is a fairly simple and fun game. It is long, too, with many locations. The story is good and is well-told with a journal. The HOS are simple and the puzzles are mostly the usual. There isn't a map, but you really don't need one. The HINT button works well, but it is a slow charger. There aren't any bells and whistles, but the game is well-designed and fun to play.
Professor Ashmore, the same man who so kindly took you in and raised you as his own has been murdered. It’s up to you to find out why, but are you prepared for what truths may be uncovered?
Other developers should take a lesson from this one - how to make a great game with all the bells and whistles and not charge a fortune for it. This game has everything and everything is done well. It is fairly lengthy, too. The story is interesting and is well-told with a good journal. The bonus chapter (yes, a bonus chapter in an SE game!) continues the story. The HOS have IA and morphing objects, and the puzzles are challenging. There are collectibles for those who like such things. The HINT button works well as does the jump map. There is nothing wrong with this game. You can't lose getting as great CE game at the SE price.
I liked the other games in this series, but this one is a real stinker. There is absolutely nothing good about this game. The artwork is OK but not above average for games these days. VOs are poor. The story is dumb. Gamer play is the same-old. I could not even stand to compete the demo.
A famous actor has literally stepped off the screen to kidnap your niece. Now you must find a way into the dangerous and exciting world of the film to save her!
I loved the other games in this series, but this one was maybe one too many. The premise of the story is interesting, but it is poorly told, not really making sense at times. Game play is OK, but there is way too much back-and-forth with the journey being illogical at times. For example, you have a difficult time getting across a chasm, but then you must traverse it many times. Artwork and VOs are good, and there is a good jump map. I don't recommend this game as a CE. Maybe the SE would be OK.
Based on the demo and other reviews, I thought this would be a good game, so I bought it. It is close to being a good game, but it missed the mark . The artwork is average at best - good VO's though. The HOS are mostly annoying as are the puzzles. The HINT button works well, pointing you in the right direction, and there is a good jump map. The journal is good and lists objectives and what is needed to fulfill them. The story seems at first to be interesting, but it slowly but surely goes downhill and is totally illogical. All people are turned to stone except the hero's dad who survives many years without food or water. Give me a break. There are collectibles, but if you don't find them all you don't get to see what they are for. Maybe you don't anyway. I don't know since I could not complete the game. The real stinker in this game is a bug that disallows further action if you don't do things in the right order.
