Good story & graphics, good characters and a beautiful setting for each personality in the game. The Collector's Edition is well done, unraveling the mystery behind the Bordeaux family.
I loved the main character, but I wished he could do more to stop me ruining his plans. I'm not the kind of game character that fears words. Maybe a bit more interactivity with the mastermind would have been a plus to the tense atmosphere, which really becomes interesting at times.
The hidden object scenes were sometimes confusing, because some objects tend to be very tricky, leaving space to lots of interpretation. For example, I found several objects of the same type when only one was required.
The good part is that mini-games are mostly original and have the potential to make Shattered Minds a classic which will hopefully be an inspiration to other puzzle/HO/adventure games.
Breath-taking graphics. Very good characters. Though not terrifying, this kept me in tension and on the edge of my seat to the very end.
Very interesting and original plot, sustained by the main character, who has the ability to enter photos and untangle past events - a bit like Drawn from this point of view. The other characters are equally intriguing, as they posses special abilities. Philosophically, all the characters in the game fit very well together and work as a team - rather than the classic mode of being a detective, you are part of the story and the only one who can solve a well-organized injustice, in the non-police kind of way.
Great for intermediates and experts.
All in all, this game felt very human and realistic. The only thing that bothered me was having to go back and forth all the time to find the needed items. But, hey, not all the asylums have hidden passages or shortcuts.
I still wonder at times if the plot has some strong, real reference points.
Anyway, take a good grip and press that play button.
If you love goblins, princesses, fairy tale landscapes and mythical creatures, this is the game for you!
Many of my childhood stories became alive while playing this beautifully illustrated HOG. Not very challenging (which makes it perfect for witty beginners & intermediates), very pleasant music and fun with every click, this little game really caught my attention with its subtle humor and with a story that makes you ask yourself: "But what if...?"
A great game for smart children and nostalgic adults!
This was definitely worth buying for the superb graphics and rebranded classic mini-games, through which you'll even find some original ones. The unique story-line, the overall grim atmosphere and intuitive gameplay add up to a more than pleasant experience.
Also, very good voiceovers and cut scenes are sprinkled around for that realistic touch.
I somewhat disliked the repetitive music (although it is very catchy and it doesn't bother that much) . Also, I found the game a bit too long in expert mode.
Hidden objects will be hard to find for beginners and the major minus here is the hint, that doesn't really help you find the red marked items. As noted previously, it only highlights the object you need to use in revealing the right item, but it doesn't show you how - and some situations have the exact amount of originality to get you stuck.
I only bought the standard version of the game, but I trust the designers that the Collector's Edition is worth the money.
...literally. This game is one of the hidden treasures that only appears so very rarely.
A five-star game from A to Z - graphics, gameplay, music, characters, concept, The Tiny Bang Story is comparable to Machinarium, as a very clean and colorful 2D adventure with a pinch of underground art. Not the usual hidden object challenges, no boring mini-games, no phantasmagoric mysteries - actually, nothing is classic about this game. A bit of a tough start for beginners, a good brain teaser for intermediates and a "delicatessen" for experts.
I would definitely pay even more for a sequel or a similar adventure.
