Yesterday I realised I had trialed or played every recent release. So I went trawling for something to play and found this. Downloaded the demo and presumed I would be disappointed.
How wrong I was - this game is intruiging. It isn't big and it isn't overly flashy but what it delivers is a few hours of absorbing gameplay (more than can be said for some "new" games out there which seem to be recycled ideas and storylines).
The graphics are cartoony but in a Drawn sense rather than Disney and the artwork is beautiful. The storyline is based on a ghost story from New Orleans and really pulls you along. There are some fun twists (wait till you meet the alligators) and the puzzles, though few and far between, are taxing enough to stretch the grey matter.
So overall I really encourage you to try this and a little voodoo magic! And devs - when is the next one out? Can't wait!
I recommend this game!

My review is based on 4 hours on gameplay and I'm not finished yet! And I am a fairly quick player...
Yes this is a fairly typical adventure/HOG but the story pulls you in and the graphics are very good. The story moves at a pace which keeps you engrossed but doesn't leave your brain tied in knots. Puzzles are simple to start off but build as the game progresses. HOS are fairly well spaced but rarely do you get something that was in there (slight annoyance)
Some folks are having technical difficulties so I advise you to demo before you buy; personally I haven't had any problems and the game is very good value for money.
Enjoy little fishes!
I recommend this game!

Oh dear! What on earth were they thinking?
Jumpy graphics, lame storyline, same old same old... oh here's a locked door - I must find a key... oh here is a wheel I must saw through it if I want to use it etc etc etc.
Gloomy, rainy and full of cats! not that I have a problem with cats but I do like them to look like a cat.
Managed 25 mins of the demo before falling into a catatonic slumber. Not worth a CE - in fact not worth a SE...
Sorry folks - try if you want to see for yourself.
I don't recommend this game.

Straight from the production house that brought us the Awakening series - this does not fail to hit the required standard. Very pretty to look at and an interesting story (once you get over the laughable accent).
It is more adventure than HOG with lots of puzzles and things to spot in the body of the game rather than endless HO scenes.
I didn't find it too challenging completing the game in 4 hours on expert mode and only one skip.
Still it was perfect for a rainy sunday afternoon!
I recommend this game!

I have to say this was the best game I have ever played by BFG.
It has all of the elements needed to keep you pinned to your PC - I couldn't move until I had finished it (5 hours by the way).
There was a fair bit of running back and forth but not to the point where I lost track of where I was (the map is a handy thing as the game has a lot of scenes).
I played on normal mode and did not need to refer to the walkthrough or hints.
Graphics are fab, storyline is epic and the level of challenge just right. most definitely a keeper!!!
I recommend this game!

I first did the demo when it came out as a CE and decided it wasn't worth the price. But decided to buy the SE as I had nothing else to play - glad I did!
The story line is fairly run of the mill - young archeologist helping old professor etc, but it is fun and the graphics are lovely.
Puzzles are good but I never needed to skip or check the walkthrough, object scenes are OK with most things relatively easy to spot. I appreciated the extra items to find and the rewards. Only annoying bit were the baddies which when you are concentrating on something can get in the way somewhat!
For a rainy day this is perfect boredom relief but doubt I'll play it again.
I recommend this game!

I found this game to be challenging insomuch as it tested my patience to the enth degree. Why oh why after completing a task/puzzle did the game make you search for random shaped/coloured fragments????
The graphics are gorgeous and the story a little more unusual than most but I didn't finish it as my patience broke and I made the dog jump when I screamed in frustration!
I wish I had waited for the SE and then I wouldn't feel so annoyed.
I don't recommend this game.
