I played the demo for 15 minutes and just quit. The way the game is set up I found extremely irritating. It takes quite a lot that I'm confused and don't know what to do. Not even at the beginning I was quite sure how to exit the "introduction" to the game. I also found it extremely unnerving that in each scene you had the "feet" symbol, that showed you in which direction you can walk. And at every given moment you have name tags all over the screen, if you found something, you can look up something, what the object is etc. and "bang" new pop-up with another message; that really spoils the whole game. The cut-scenes were kind of ok but well, as you might have figured out by now .... this game I found simply terrible.
I don't recommend this game.

I played only the demo and was half-way through the game. So I assume it's rather a short game.
I quite enjoyed the graphics and voice-overs. And hooray, the game didn't start (like in so many other games ...) with a car crash or ghosts appearing etc. (meanwhile I really get bored with this kind of games ...not really innovative). So yes, the game has potential. I personnally don't understand why people didn't buy the game because there's no hint button available. It's not necessary. I found this game extremely easy to play (in expert mode), and when a scene is done it even tells you "there's nothing to be done here anymore". Everything is rather logical and there was only one scene throughout the demo, where I wasn't quite sure what to do next. The HOS are also easy. Not even there the hint button is required, as the objects you have to look for you figure out after a few minutes of game play as it's very clear what you need to find.
You also have a map that tells you which area is done, which tasks to fulfill, what to investigate etc. So, why is a hint button required?
For my taste, this game is simply too easy and not challenging at all. Also the mini games are ok, nothing new - cute I'd say, but if I solve it within 30 seconds I wouldn't say it's difficult - right?
It's a pity .. because the game would have a lot of pontential. Great graphics - good ideas - but simply too easy.
I don't recommend this game.

I was very glad to see that another House of a 1000 Doors was published and knew that I'm going to buy this one as well. The graphics are excellent, very beautiful cut-scenes. The game play in itself is not too difficult - played Expert mode, although some HOS were a tee bit tricky.
You will enter different kinds of worlds (countries) and this is exactly the part I didn't like too much, as the story-line looses somehow its touch and I rather found this confusing than adding up to the story. That's why I gave the game only a 4 star. Despite that I can really recommend the game, even though I did prefer the first edition of House of a 1000 Doors.

I was hooked with the game, because I do appreciate a good story-line, and great graphics. However, the puzzles (there are indeed many) just bored me with the time. Sliding stones, pushing buttons, etc. and this all over again and again just in a different manner.
I would have given the game a 5 star, if it were not for the puzzles. Some people might like this sort of mini games, but it just gets boring. I would have appreciated some more creativity. Despite that it's a good game. Not the best I played, but above average.
I recommend this game!

Despite all the excellent reviews on this game, I cannot give it a 5 star. Yes, the graphics were great. But the previous editions of Midnight Mysteries were by far better. I just didn't get into the story, you literally "flipped" from one scene to the next one, without really knowing, what actually the goal was in the scene before.
What really annoyed me were the constant pop ups of achievements, what you have to do next, etc. No voice-overs. Easy HOS, puzzles were ok. It's an ok game, but I'm glad I bought it with a game credit.
There are meanwhile too many games like that. If you played one or two of the same edition, you know more or less, what will come next (well, in most cases).
I don't recommend this game.

I played this game a couple of years ago. I loved it then - and I still do love it these days.
It's simply got it all.. lovely graphics, great story line, excellent voices (I usually don't listen to all conversations, coz I find them sometimes rather dull and not very entertaining), beautifully arranged, challenging.... the hints help but are not obivous. Throughout the whole game, you simply need to use your brains - and most of all - it's so entertaining. It's never boring. And hours to play.
I highly recommend this game.

Overall a good game, but certainly not top-notch. I preferred the first edition of Haunted Manor. The graphics were ok, there are no voice-overs, the puzzled were not too difficult to play. Some HOS were a bit too dark for my liking. I would have given the game a 4-star, if it were not for the ending of the game. Playing 12 HOS in a row just to obtain the evil symbols in order to finish the game, I find not only boring but also not creative. If you are a HOS freak, buy it, if you prefer a mix of adventure and HOS then I wouldn't recommend to purchase it.
I recommend this game!

After having played the demo, I thought it was an entertaining game. However, as I continued I just got a "tee bit" frustrated with the puzzles - they were so repetitive, that it was just plain boring. There are hardly any cut-scenes which isn't too dramatic, but the quality was really poor. The story-line, well, I wasn't quite sure, if there was really a story, because I got so bored with all the puzzles that revealed bits and pieces, that I just couldn't be bothered to read them.
Overall, it's an OK game if you really haven't got anything better to do... (which I'm sure of, you have..).
I don't recommend this game.

The best game I've ever played (maybe not everyone's but then again I don't like dull games); loved the voice-overs - excellent - challenging game play, phantastic graphics, great story line - everything what I expect from a game. I hope that there will be more games like this.

At first I wasn't quite sure, if I liked the graphics, because I don't like blurred images in a game, but that changed from scene to scene and overall I really loved the graphics and in particular the cutscenes - they were excellent. Loved the storyline, the HOS were not too difficult, the puzzles were fair and it just keeps you going. It was challenging, but not overly difficult.
I absolutely recommend the game - one of the best I've played
