I've enjoyed previous Bonfire Stories. Don't be fooled! These are nothing like them. Boring, repetitive actions and countless HOS with minimal story. An annoying voice over to drive the nail into the coffin. The only mystery is whether the once great Marium Glorum (and Big Fish, alas) has been taken over by aliens.
What a lot of love and planning went into this rich package. A good story with different pathways, according to choices you make. Well crafted and original puzzles to solve and lots of collectibles. A well considered back story for the Bonus Story. And then - more! A Whodunnit to solve from picture clues and anecdotes. The time and effort put into crafting this makes it far superior to most games. And no monsters!
Step into the shoes of a Private investigator with short-term memory loss and uncover the shocking truth about his involvement with a serial killer called The Executioner.
No monsters - except the human kind. Gritty crime thriller with twists and turns. Very suspenseful as you slowly piece together what really happened and why. Maybe some actions are repetitive and the tasks could be harder but there's imagination in the interactive puzzles. Even better, they relate to the story. Tense and tight, it's the best game I've played in yonks.
Get over the mini lapse between scenes! It's annoying but so trivial compared to the strong and engaging storyline which integrates the puzzles. There's exceptional voice acting and some ridiculously good music. There's strong motivation for all characters - especially the villain in a sad and moving tale -and even a cute romance for our no nonsense heroine. On top of that there's one of the best bonus games ever explaining how the journey began. I love the bling though it is sooo annoying that if you miss an eye or a morph or magazine you can't retrieve it later. Doesn't matter. Great game!
Much more thought has gone into developing this story than usual and for once, the bonus story is probably the best bit. I like the thoughtful chitchat that some players obviously loathed and for me the twists and well plotted confusions added to the intrigue. Some great theatrical graphics too. Nice work, Eipix!
Just gorgeous. Sophisticated and detailed in plot and design. After simplistic and predictable games, this had nice twists in its take on the old Faustian tale. HOS had interesting variations and puzzles mostly fitted into the storyline. Mostly, the music was very appealing. Puzzles were a bit easy but for a muso like me, this was always engaging and intriguing. Would I sign the contract? Of course!
What fun! A well designed puzzle with a strong story line; it mightn't sound original but it parodies not only reality shows but computer games like this. As others have said, the dry wit makes you smile while you hunt down the big bag. Some original puzzles too though they could be more challenging...but hey, that's OK post Christmas.
After I've been bored by a series of ho hum stories and cloned games, trust Mad Head to give us an original storyline spiced with the hint of horror at every turn, dry humour and interesting puzzles. The ending might be a bit prosaic but it made sense....still I'm glad to find the bonus game has a darker twist!
Sooo good...and probably has the best bonus game ever, one that sets up and continues the story from a new perspective. Great stuff, great value Mad Head.
