A decent 'real' story with NO ghouls, ghosts or monsters in sight!

Very enjoyable game with a good storyline (similar to an Indiana Jones quest) and nice clear graphics. A good amount of HO scenes - without excessive clutter and with good descriptions - how many times does a game use ambiguous terms like bow (violin or ribbon?) or compass (nautical or draughting?). This game used accurate terms and items were well-placed. Puzzles were in keeping with the game's theme and weren't too hard or too easy (at least for me). Finding 'special items' in scenes made it interesting too and rewarded you with extra hints - I ended up with 45 so there was no chance of being stuck without a hint considering there is no in-game strategy guide. If you like HOGS and an interesting storyline I would certainly recommend this game!
I can't understand the reviews saying this is an easy game with no challenge - I thought I was an expert in time management games and couldn't get past level 9! The timer seemed to whiz down to zero and was really annoying that, unlike other games like Roads of Rome, Chasing Dracula etc, you couldn't progress to the next level. Graphics were dull and uninspiring - as was the storyline. This may be a game for players who like to race round the screen like a maniac but not for me.

Really enjoyed the puzzles and graphics/art work was crisp and clear. But the amount of cut scenes/voiceovers was so darned annoying I felt the developers had actually wanted to make a movie with 'occasional' audience interaction! Deleted after 10 mins as the storyline was, sadly, intensely boring!
Have never understood the high ratings for this game. For me it is boring, tedious and so lacking in storyline, gameplay and charm it is even worse than the first four - if possible!

What's not to love about this series! Excellent graphics and animation, cute characters and storyline. And what an awesome sense of humour the developers must have - A chuckle fest from start to finish! The only let down is the ability to get three stars on all levels - even in the bonus game! I love a challenge but even with the help of the (much-needed) strategy guide it seems impossible. Got to level 37 before the wheels fell off! Perhaps the developers need to set the challenge not based on their own knowledge of the game (having to work out what is needed to make what potion, build a bomb etc eats into 'already precious' time!) But I still loved the game, enjoyed playing and is a must for expert time management gamers - and those with a sense of humour!
