Well done game, story line made me want to continue and find out what happens.. Hard for me on the easy level.. but worked to make sure I got 3 stars <max> on each level..
If I like it.. it is probably pretty good for time management..
I recommend this game!

Based on full collectors edition.. Played without sparkles, so the second hardness option..
I loved the idea, the cats and of course Christmas.. I do enjoy having helpers, so I enjoyed cats coming to my rescue..
Collectors edition parts I enjoyed most..
Morphing items and puzzle pieces.. Screensavers and Wallpaper.. and the bonus game..
Length of game was longer than I expected.. each time I thought I was at the end, something else happened.. this made me happy..
I wanted the game to last, so I carefully looked for each morphing object, and was able to find them all.. <no bonus to finding them other than to see what they look like holding still on your mantle>
I found all the puzzle pieces, though they were harder to find, There are 3 separate puzzles, if you find all the pieces to a puzzle, you put it together and it becomes a screensaver option.. there are 3 screensavers available if you find them all.. I liked one enough to use it..
The wallpapers are available from the bonus option on the main menu from the beginning of the game.. I did find one I like and I am using it through Christmas..
I needed very few hints and only used the map a few times.. but that said there was a lot of wandering back and forth to find the right room to do something in.. Rarely more than 4 rooms away though..
I would say the only real drawback to the game was that it was very single minded.. More often than not there was only one item/task you were looking to find and do.. you might have lots of items in your inventory but only one piece at a time would further the story line.. It simplifies the game.. there is less worrying about what should I do first, and more which item can I make use of or find.. there are exceptions, but especially later in the game and in the bonus game, you are on one task..
The bonus game was a very sweet story.. but again quite easy and strait forward.. various kinds of HO's, which I liked.. small easy puzzles.. Nice for a relaxed hour of play.. but no real challenge..
Beautiful to look at, nice music to listen to and easy to play.. sit down with your kids or grandkids, or find the kid in yourself and play..
I recommend this game!

Fantastic graphics, story line, inventive HOG's and mini-games. I do wish I had bought the collectors edition, I didn't want this game to end!
Expected a dark game when I started it, and was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic game and graphics. No cluttered scenes of dead things. Not that they are always bad, but I was ready for a story that grips and lets you feel like a heroine.
Well Done!
I recommend this game!

Based on the completed Collectors Edition.
This is a delightful sequel to the Nutcracker. You continue from where it ends and go on a wonderful adventure with an occasional reference to the previous game. There are times you feel like you are part of the game. Do you wish you could follow your helper on his tasks, in this game there are times you can!
The background is interactive, click everything, even if it isn't necessary it is lots of fun! I laughed out loud and smiled like a child when I made an icicle break off and fall.
Interactive Map is there of course, but it was so much fun wandering around that I chose not to use it.
Hints of course were helpful, but also didn't need them very often.
4 modes of play, from sparkles and quick hints, to completely customizable.
I played on Charlies Mode, no sparkles and longer hints.
It was perfect for me and encouraged me to click more things.
When totally lost or stuck there is the strategy Guide within the game. No need to go searching for one online. This I chose to use more than Hints.
A huge plus for me was actually being able to do the mini games. Often the games are too hard for me, or just frustrating. These actually made sense within the setting of the game, often moving the story along as you do each part of the mini-game.
Don't forget the hidden puzzle pieces, they make 3 jigsaw puzzles at the end. I found all but 2 pieces, but was able to make 2 of the puzzles. I guess I have to go play again. :-)
And there dolls hiding in boxes.
When the game ends, then you can help 2 cats save their friends in 2 bonus games. Love it!
Beautiful screensaver and wallpaper.
Beautiful holiday music.
No Con's for me!
I recommend this game!

Totally loved this one! I have played games for so long it is hard for me to really get excited about a game, but this one was over the top for me.
Based on a full play through of the Collectors edition.
Great map, precise hints. Unique but not overly hard puzzles. The story leads you along and encourages continued playing. There is a side quest in which you are encouraged to find flowers which allow you to rebuild areas of the game that were totaled along the way. This quest is not required if you just want play strait through the game.
The bonus game is as well done as the main part of the game in beauty, story and game play. The story takes over after the game ends and you find you are needed again. This is not a different ending but a separate quest that adds brilliantly to the story line so if you don't have the collectors edition you still have the full story in your game.
There is only one drawback I was able to find. It is obvious that the original game was not in english. The voice acting is really well done, but the voice overs are not at all in sync with the mouths. I had to simply watch other parts of the screen during this time and allow for the great voice acting to pull me along.
If you are able, I recommend you go for the collectors edition. I doubt you will be sorry.
I recommend this game!

Based on full play..
Totally enjoyed every minute of the game.. Interactive game play, it was such a treat to open a cage, and need to actually open turn the key and then open the cage door. It felt so much more real..
Enjoyable puzzles, nice clear HO's.. and a map that makes it possible to move back and forth without running in circles. The map also marks where there currently are things to do.
First game in ages that I really just wanted to sit enjoying it, and wished it wouldn't end..
Definately my new favorite..
I recommend this game!

The game is an older style, similar to Murder She Wrote.. but really enjoyed the story. After some of the games with massively good graphics, it takes a bit of winding down to just relax and enjoy the story and gameplay. However, i did and once I started playing I enjoyed it from start to finish.
This is based on the playing the full game.. If you are a Castle fan.. or enjoyed Murder she Wrote games.. you will like this one..
I recommend this game!

Loved this game. Very fun!
I played it on casual and it was just hard enough to know I would have gotten frustrated without the occasional help of a glimmer.
I took my time and played it over the course of 3 days. Most HOG's I finish in one sitting..
Great adventure story with a twist of a "detective wall" to keep you " In the story" instead of just moving about the scenes. As noted by others, I was about half way through before realizing I didn't need to Visit the wall in person. Just click on the evidence folder and it brings up the interactive wall, and afterwards it brings you to the spot you were before you worked on the wall.
Map was helpful, let me know what area to go look in when I wasn't sure where look next. Thankfully hints didn't tell too much but did more pointing..
HOG's were interesting, mostly objects expected in that area, though some did get a bit cluttered, I only needed the hint 3 times. And those were VERY hidden objects.. LOL
There are some objects labeled in ways that let me know it wasn't written locally.. But most were near enough to what I would have named them to pick them out..
Long, interesting and just spooky enough to give me a good shiver towards the end. What's not to love! Now they need to bring out part 2, since it does say, To be continued.. :)
Only down side would be an occasionally dark, hazy or harder to see scene, but those were rare. And I am never sure if it is me or the game.
Well done! I would recommend it to buy. I plan on replaying it in expert mode next time..
I recommend this game!

The story grabbed me quickly and kept me interested to the end. For me this is a Treat as most just don't draw me in and I end up finishing them just for the HO's and puzzles.
There is pirate treasure that you collect and with each piece you learn a bit more of the story and found myself running eagerly back to deposit each piece of the treasure so I could learn more of the story.
I Played the full game on expert level and found it just challenging enough without becoming frustrating. Puzzles though not simple were easy enough to do without skipping.
On casual it shows you what rooms you are done with and which still have something for you to do.. On expert you see the rooms you have been to and where you are, but you do more exploring and trial and error on what to do next..
The option of playing a round of Mahjong during the HO's when I couldn't find an object gave me a feeling of completion when compared using hints which always feels like giving up..
Visually it was fantastic.
If there was a con it would be that the map doesn't transport you.. I never use this feature so for me it was not an issue..
I recommend this game!
